25. Is he good enough for me?

"How many kids are we going to have?" I asked, amidst my daydreams, as I was lying on my man's chest while playing with his fingers. We were both naked, and our bodies were intertwined with each other in a lazy way. We were spending that weekend together reviewing between talking, dating, and making love, and that expensive hotel room was small and unable to put out our fire. Garrett was so flirtatious; he called me such affectionate nicknames; he said he loved me and that he wanted me all the time. That weekend, we were in our private paradise.

He chuckled at my question and answered. "I don't know, but the longer, the better it will be. I don't have a family, so I want to have lots of kids." I smiled at his answer; I didn't mind giving him as many children as he wanted: five, six, seven, ten. As many as I could conceive, all to make you happy.

"Then it'll be as many as you like, my dear." I smile at him, and he gives me a light kiss. We were enjoying that little time together so much that it was like the rest of the world didn't exist out there.

"I loved the idea; the more there are, the better it will be."

"I intend to get married on a beach with the sound of the sea; I've always dreamed of that." I spoke, imagining myself beautifully dressed as a bride on a beautiful beach with only close people and friends, and him waiting for me at the altar dressed elegantly in flowing clothes. "Love, would you wear white on our wedding day?" I asked because I always saw him in dark clothes, and I already had an idea that he didn't like light clothes. He was laughing now at my question.

"I'm more used to black, but for our wedding, I can wear whatever you want." He replied all flirtatious, made me laugh silly, and left my heart beating fast in anticipation.

"Everything is perfect. Why don't we get married as soon as possible? I'm of age, and so are you. We can schedule our wedding as soon as possible; it doesn't need a lot of decorations, a big party, or anything like that. By the way, I'm just a very simple person; all I want is to have you and belong to you." I looked at him, still playing with his long fingers; he was nodding, but then sighed before answering.

"I really want to marry you as soon as possible, but first we have to solve my son's problem and bring him back home."

"But we can get married first and then go to London; we still have time." I said I felt anxious and excited to marry him soon. I wanted to belong to him so much that it was like I didn't want anything else in my life but that.

"I know, my love. But if the judge finds out that we're married after all, he'll think it's all just a setup by me to get my son back. Trust me, I understand these things. You will be my main witness; it's best that no one knows about our romantic involvement." He explained it to me, and I frowned thinking about it; I really wasn't getting his point. I couldn't see how our being married would negatively influence my testimony to the court in London, but I decided to let it go and trust my future husband because he knew what he was doing.

"Since you say so, then fine. Besides, our first concern here is getting baby Arthur home." I replied with a sweet smile, and he kissed me, caressing my arm with the back of his finger.

"That's the spirit, my kitten. The section with the judge is next Thursday; we have to travel to London tomorrow because my lawyer wants to give you some instructions before you tell the judge what you know." I nodded as he spoke. I was ready to do everything in my power to help him on that mission. "I just hope everything works out; I can't stand to be away from my son anymore…" he said sadly, so I turned around and hugged him tightly, wanting him not to be so sad anymore.

"Everything will be fine; don't worry so much about it. Arthur is your son; he should stay with you and no one else." I said those words, trying to give him as much security as possible.

"I know that, Lily. But people are mean, so my in-laws are the worst. They never liked me and always blamed me for their daughter's death, and now they want to take my own child away from me." It was visible how shaken he was; I petted him.

"Don't think like that; you'll see that you'll be able to bring Arthur back home. I swear to you that I will do everything to help you on this mission, Mr. Ward."

*******

"What?" I heard my friend's hysterical voice on the other end of the phone line. "I don't believe this, Lily. You've been gone for days because you've been with that man all this time?"

It was early Monday morning when I remembered to call my friend before traveling to London. Now I was on the balcony of the hotel where I was staying with Garrett, talking to my friend on the cell phone while he was sleeping. The night had been pleasant and exhausting enough. Garrett was like a slick and hectic baby when it came to wanting me the way he wanted me; what mattered was that I was there to please him at all times. I sighed and massaged my neck.

"That's right, friend. We're boyfriends now, so don't speak ill of him." I warned her in a low voice so as not to wake him. I peeked through the balcony door to see that he was still lying in bed, sleeping soundly. Furthermore, I knew that as soon as he woke up, he would want a good round of sex before eating anything. "We're a couple now, me and him. And we're getting married soon; you're invited." I smiled as I broke the news to her.

"Wait a minute. What world do you live in, Lily? Are you that crazy at this point? Did you just forget that this man you called your boyfriend today took advantage of you and then left? Have you forgotten how much you cried because he hurt you so much?" Her voice had a dazed tone as she spoke, and I rolled my eyes thinking about how dramatic and over the top Sue was.

"I didn't forget anything, but it was all just a misunderstanding, okay? Garrett never left me; he loves me and will take care of me. He's going to give me a name and a family." I explained it to her.

"Lily, just don't be too hasty. What are you talking about? Why would Garrett Ward want to marry you? That doesn't even make sense!" She ridiculed me for making me sad with that line.

"Are you saying I'm no match to be the wife of a man as important as Garrett Ward?" I asked, and I was even feeling offended. I knew I was poor, and I had never even entertained the idea of a man like this falling in love with me and wanting to marry me, but it was happening, and it was real. If Sue didn't want to believe it, it was her problem.

"Girlfriend, you're getting me wrong. I didn't say you don't deserve a man like him, but the moment she spoke, Garrett Ward emerged from the porch door wearing nothing but sweat shorts. I could see that morning's wood; it was all formed between his legs.

"Who are you talking to? Turn it off, come get me." He was pulling me by the waist, and I smiled, nodding.

"Friend, I need to go. I'll see you when I get back from London. Bye."

So I quickly turned off the phone and let my boss or fiancé carry me in his arms to the bed.
