Chapter 10: Graduation Day

Reporter 1: Miss Harley Aldana right?

One of the reporters for Circle Station confirmed my name and I slowly nod my head as a yes. We were in this spacious studio with lights above us. I looked around and saw many flashing lights of cameras hitting my eyes and it made me feel uncomfortable.

I know I came here to confirm one thing; How was my relationship with my stepfather, Evo Montero?

Harley POV

We were so quiet until we arrived at school. Today is my graduation day but I prefer that my parents won't attend because I hate being the center of attention. I'm sure that my teachers and parents of my classmates will talk about us. They will tell. me that I got lucky to be part of the Montero empire.

They're just jealous that my mom married a billionaire but it doesn't matter to me anymore because whether my father is rich or poor, people won't stop talking behind my back.

"I can graduate on my own. I'll just use a taxi later." I said with a cold manner but my stepfather insisted to attend and mom.

"No! This is your graduation day so I and your mom will join you." He said.

I took a deep breath and rolled my eyes before saying yes.

"As if I have a choice," I whispered to myself as they followed me going to the graduation hall.

As we arrived, everyone turned their heads while raising their eyebrows when they saw me and my mom with Mr. Vip of Moonstar Magazine.

" So gold digger "

"Lucky poor thing"

" Instant millionaire"

That's what they keep on murmuring but it won't affect me. Besides, this is my last day here on this campus so I'm done with their bullshit. My mom is happy and that's all matter. I'm a little guilty for her because I was been harsh to her earlier. I'll apologize to her later after this.

I'll leave them on their own and I check where my classmates are sitting and I spotted Andrea at the front side of the stage. She saw me but she ignored me so I come over to talk to her in person.

While coming over, I saw Bryce approaching her so I stop and studied them. I saw how Andrea brightened her face when she saw Bryce but it made me feel jealous because she knew that he was my long-time crush.

I saw Andrea staring at me so intensely but I didn't take it seriously instead I walked closer to find my seat. Bryce saw me and he ask me to sit next to him near Andrea, my best friend.

"Harley right? Have you seen my friend request?", he asked me but I was starstruck to see Bryce talking in front of me. I feel some butterflies inside my stomach.

I couldn't even look him in his eyes.

"Yeah, I saw it. Hmmm, who gave you my Facebook account?", I simply asked him, and when I heard that it was Andrea who gave my account, I was mentioned.

"Andrea, is he telling me the truth? It was you?", I turned around to my best friend to confirm that Bryce was not joking around.

She looks hurt while nodding her head.

" Yeah but you get the wrong idea! You think I'm flirting with him and you hated me for that! I have no idea that our friendship was so dense." She blurted out and I started crying for what I did to her.

I transfer my seat beside her and hug her.

"I'm so sorry, best. I thought you liked Bryce and flirting with him. I'd been selfish and heartless. Can we be friends again like besties before?", I let go of her and asked her.

She repeatedly nodded her head and Bryce cleared his throat to distract them.

" Ahm, girls, the ceremony is starting." He said and we both stared at one another and smiled.

The graduation ceremony ended in three hours. While it started, I kept looking back to check on my parents and they both seem okay but what made me feel comfortable was every time I gaze at my stepdad, he always smiling and blinking at me which I find it uncomfortable.

"Gross", I simply muttered and Bryce heard it.

" Harley, who's gross?", he touches my shoulder while asking me and I suddenly felt electricity run through my veins down my clit.

"Nothing." I simply replied trying to hide my red cheeks.

I never thought that I get to sit beside him and get to know him when I'm about to transfer to another school. Why did he come so late in my life?

"Hey, we can still meet right?", it was him who said it.

To hear his sweet manly voice and to see his luscious lips pouting at me, I feel like I'm on cloud nine. Bryce is the campus heartthrob and I got so lucky that he's a friend of my best friend, Andrea that's why I get to friend him through social media.

When you meet him, you will tell him that he's one of the famous actors you saw in a movie because of his body build and crowd presence. His uncanny green eyes made you evaporate in pleasure once he laid them on you and I am one of them.

" Give me your phone." He ordered me so I can't say no. I immediately reach him with my phone and he types his number and saves it himself.

I giggled and wanted to pinch my face to check if I wasn't dreaming.

"Hey, you're not dreaming. I'll call you soon." He told me and I am shocked about it.

Can he read minds? He's been like that since we started this conversation.

I was been too attached to talking to Bryce that I am almost unheard of by my name-calling on stage.

"Harley Aldana, graduates of Savana High School!", it was my name being called but I'm still sitting on my chair next to Bryce and Andrea.

They both pushed my arms.

"It's your name!", they informed me so I quickly stood up and went on the stage.

I am glad that our graduation ceremony finished early. I bid goodbyes to all my classmates and teachers for the last time. I even hug my best friend Andrea and exchanged numbers with my crush Bryce. Today was the best day and the saddest part of my life but it's all worth it.

I graduated, reconcile with my best friend, and got my crush number.

Tonight we're inside this fancy restaurant with mom and my stepdad. We were laughing and making a toast together with some expensive wine. If I turned back the time my dad was alive, maybe we're doing the same thing just like what was doing tonight.

I never realized that I'm in tears.
