Chapter 30: Chapter Thirty- I Knew She Would Have Hated It

Orson

I head to my office with a smirk on my lips. I knew she would have hated it; that is why I did it. I knew she would get pissed and embarrassed. I couldn’t help myself. I need to make it believable to everyone, including the people at work. I settle down at my desk and don’t even have a chance to switch my desktop on before Taylor comes barging into my office, glaring at me, her face red with anger. Great! Here we go!

“What the hell was that? You hate her! You told me you don’t date or do relationships with your employees, yet you had no damn issue parading her around.” She snaps.

I roll my eyes. She needs to move on. We have fucked here and there. She always wanted more, but I made it clear that wasn’t going to happen.

“It is none of your business. You and I had sex a few times. My personal life has nothing to do with you, Taylor. If you ever barge into my office like this again, I won’t hesitate to fire you.” I snarl.

“What is so special about her? You hate her. She hates you. Now, what, you are in love? Since when? Were you two together the last time we fucked?”

“I love her. I used you. It’s as simple as that. No, we weren’t together then.”

The last time Taylor and I had sex was a few months ago.

Her eyes widen. “You love her? You don’t know how to love.”

“Obviously, I do. I didn’t want to love you. Everly and I are engaged, if you don’t like that, you know where the door is. We had sex a few times, nothing more, so stop acting like a crazy, jealous ex because you weren’t. Now, get out of my office before you say something you regret and you don’t have a job.” I warn, jump to my feet and slam my hands against the desk.

She jumps and takes a few steps back. “I am sorry.” She whispers and rushes out.

I groan, falling back down on my chair. I need to be careful who I screw. I also seem to pick the crazy ones who grow attached and are possessive over what doesn’t belong to them. There is no need for it!

I am sure she won’t be the last person to mention it. Other people will, but not in the same manner she did. They will mention it because they are surprised and shocked to find out I am in a relationship, even more so when they realise I am engaged. I am sure Taylor won’t waste a second to tell everyone. Everly will not be amused. I noticed the way she tried to hide her ring as we walked in. Everyone can go to hell. If they say anything, I will tell them to keep their nose out of it or threaten to fire them.

I sigh and focus back on my desktop, getting some work done. I have a lot to do. I work for about an hour before my office door barges open once again. Who the fuck is this now? I don’t have time for this shit. I glance up and see Everly. She looks mad.

“What is the problem now? Can’t I get peace to work?” I hiss, irritated.

“It must be great sitting in here without anyone bothering you. Yet every time I leave my office to use the bathroom or get a drink, all eyes are on me as people whisper and judge. It must be damn great to be a man.” She hisses back, her hand all over the place.

I stop from laughing at the way she is flopping around but laughing would be the wrong thing to do in the moment.

“Tell them to quit staring and fuck off,” I reply with a shrug.

“And then someone reports me? No, thank you.”

“What do you want me to do about it, Everly?”

“I don’t know, something! It is your fault! I didn’t want to walk into the office with you like that this morning, but you insisted.” She snaps, shakes her head and storms out of my office.

Why do women seem to want to kill me today? What does she expect me to do? She wants me to fix it, then that is what I will do. I go out onto the floor.

“Attention, everyone. Mind your own damn business! My relationship with Everly had nothing to do with any of you. If I hear you whisper, look at either of us the wrong way and gossip to other people in the office, I will fire every one of you. I can replace you easily. Focus on your work, not me and my relationship.” I yell.

I don’t know if this is what she had in mind, but tough if it isn’t. Everyone looks at the ground, muttering sorry. I nod and return to my office. That should be enough, threatening their jobs. Was it a dick move? Yes. Was it necessary? Probably not. I could have dealt with it a different way.

A text comes through a moment later.

You couldn’t have found a better way to deal with it?

God, is she ever happy?

I did what you wanted. Stop complaining! We will have to learn to deal with it.

Screw you!

You already did, sweetness, but if you want to do it again, you come through and do so ;) xx

What does she expect when she uses those words?

No, thank you. I have better things to do than you.

Your loss, baby girl. If you change your mind, you know where I am xx

She doesn’t reply after that. I chuckle and set my cell aside. Will she ever stop acting like she is embarrassed about what we did? She has nothing to be embarrassed about. We had fun. She likes me fucking her, so I don’t see an issue with it. She will come running back. They always do. Even if she doesn’t, I will get what I need somewhere. I need to be careful where and with who, though. I can’t risk being caught, or my plan will never work how I need it to. I need to convince everyone it is real and I am in love with her, or it will all go to shit in no time.

I dread this weekend when I need to introduce her to my family. She better not mess this up for me! She can act like a bitch towards me when we are in private, but not in public and especially not around my family. If she messes this up, then I will make sure she is the one who comes out worse. I will ruin her! I will make sure she can’t get another job. I was clear on our deal and what I expected of her. I am not asking for much. Things could be worse.
