Alyssa's POV
I was still trying to process what this man had just told me when the door opened again. It was the same man who brought in my breakfast. He seemed to have forgotten something. He stared at us for a while before he stepped forwards and untied me.
"Sit down and eat," he said coldly and walked out of the room.
As soon as he was out of the room I stood up and stretched my body. I have been tied to a chair since yesterday and my muscles hurt badly.
I walked towards the door but it was locked. I climbed the old table trying to reach for the rooftop. The building was too high. I tried to open the back door which I assumed was the restroom but it was also locked. I walked around the room trying to figure a way out but my efforts seem futile.
"You are just wasting your time, '' the man said. "I have tried everything but there's no way out."
"Can you please shut up and let me think?" I growled and he kept quiet.
After several minutes of wandering around, I finally gave up. I sat down on the same chair I was tired of. I realized the young man was right after all. He must have tried severally to escape. I apologize for yelling at him.
Soon, we were telling each other about our lives. He told me his name was Tommy and that he was a servant to Luna Jessica. Luna Jessica is the leader of the West pack.
He doesn't know his true origin. He grew up in the household of Alpha Geoffrey the then alpha of West Pack as his servant. When Geoffery died, his wife was appointed the Luna of West pack and he has since served her. Jessica grew to like him because of his sincerity and hard work so she made him his servant.
He was on his way back from a neighboring pack where his mistress had sent him to deliver a message when he was attacked and taken hostage.
"I have no clue who is behind this. All I know is that the person wants me dead" He coughed as he talked. His breath labored.
I offered him my cup of water. "No!" turning his face the other way." you will need this water in the days to come. Save it for yourself" he explained.
"No, I won't. I will get us out of here before then, I said trying to be brave.
"How? Just drink the water, you will need strength." I tried to persuade him.
"Do you have a plan? "
"Yes, I do, just drink the water and try to eat something," I said confidently. I was only trying to get him to eat, I had not the slightest inkling what to do.
I asked him if the other door was a restroom but he said it has never been opened before. He was usually taken outside whenever he requested to use the restroom.
Suddenly, an idea struck my mind and I decided to try it. Minutes later, the man came back to tie me up and I told him I was pressed. He brought out a black blindfold from his pocket and blindfolded me, tied my hands with a thick white rope and led me out. He led me to a big tree. I expected him to excuse me but he didn't.
I asked him to excuse me but all he said was "You have two minutes."
I immediately knew my plan had failed. These people were being very careful.
Tommy must have tried all of these. I felt dejected. Maybe they're is no way out.
He led me back to the room. Took off the blindfold. He tied my legs together but this time not to the chair.
I noticed a shiny metal drop from the pocket of his pants. As soon as he was out of the room, I hopped as fast as I could to where the metal dropped and picked it up.
It was a coin-shaped shiny metal and it had a weird symbol on it. As soon as I saw the symbol I knew I had seen it somewhere before. I tried to recall where I had seen it before.
It was at Ethan's pack. On a faithful day, I encountered the intruder who was wearing a cloak. I remember seeing a pendant with this weird symbol on her neck.
Now everything began to make sense. I was convinced she wanted me dead. She wants me dead because I came close to unmasking her identity. This must have provoked her so to get back at me, she brought me here to give me a slow and painful death.
What a Coward, I muttered. She doesn't even dare to show her face even though she has me in her chains.
I hid the pendant inside my hair. If I make it out of here alive, Ethan will be happy to see this. It will help with their investigation.
I miss Ethan so much. He must be worried sick about me right now. Only if he knew I was being held captive in this hell hole. I can picture him walking in with his friends. Pouncing on these men and beating them to a pulp.
He will walk into this room untie me with worry evident on his face and ask if I am fine while he hugs me with my head buried in his chest. Poor Ethan. He has been in many fights because of me. He could not stand the way I was mocked by especially my pack members.
"You hurt my Alyssa and you will have me to contend with." He will say. I smiled as I watched the scene in my head.
Then there was Marcus, the guy I have truly ever given my heart to. I couldn't help but think about how we used to visit the local bar, how we sat together at my village clearing watching the stars, and the way he always teased my love for plants whenever we went into the woods. When I was with him, nothing else mattered. No one dares to mock or disrespect me. I suddenly realized I missed him.
I was brought back to reality by the sudden sound of the door that sprang open. It was one of the guards. The sun was about to set and I could guess it was about 4 pm. He searched through the room with his eyes as if he was looking for something.
He was holding a plate. He walked towards me and dropped a plate before me. He seemed in a hurry.
"Can I get a cup of water, please? " I requested noticing he didn't come in with water. He turned around to look at me. He seemed irritated, he hurriedly walked out of the room.
I sat on the chair wondering why he was in such a hurry. The door opened again and what I saw gave me the surprise of a lifetime.
