"The will?"
Barbara's eyes gleamed.
May, the eldest Martinez daughter, thought to herself, 'If even Barbara is called back here, does this mean she is a part of the family will?'
Not only her, but the others in the living room also began to have their own thoughts.
No one was uninterested in the matter of the will.
However, when each of them was considering how much money they could get, several figures walked in from the entrance.
Walking beside Madam Martinez was a young and beautiful woman.
The woman was wearing jeans and a shirt, with her hair casually tied up, but even with such a simple outfit, it was still stunning.
Her extraordinary and elegant temperament was rare in Cuenca.
Barbara suddenly felt intrigued by this woman. She looked somewhat familiar, but Barbara couldn’t quite place her.
"Haley, your aunt and uncle are here. Go and say hello to them," Madam Martinez pushed Haley.
Haley's face had a calm and composed smile. "Hello everyone..."
The living room was unusually quiet.
"Haley? Haley DeRoss?" Barbara's face was full of disbelief. "You… Didn't you die four years ago?"
"Nonsense!" Madam Martinez frowned. "Haley has always been alive, living well. She didn't want to attract too much attention, so I never told you about it."
The members of the Martinez family were shocked, their eyes nearly popping out.
It wasn't everyday news that someone who supposedly died four years ago suddenly reappeared.
When they looked at the old lady's appearance, it was clear she had known that Haley hadn't died and had hidden it so well.
The gaze of the May Martinez, Haley’s eldest aunt fell on the two children. "Haley, did you birth two bastard children again?"
The words "bastard children" made Haley's aura suddenly turn cold. She raised her eyes and said bluntly, "Aunt May, before you married into the Martinez family, you were already pregnant with Barbara. Should I then assume and say that Barbara is also a bastard child?"
"You!" May was furious.
Her case of being unmarried and pregnant back then was considered quite scandalous in the aristocratic circle.
She had been ridiculed for a long time. This matter had passed almost thirty years ago, yet it was still being brought up by a younger generation. May couldn't just sit back.
Barbara was also extremely angry. "Haley, how dare you insult my mother and me on our family's territory? Who gave you the audacity?"
"That's enough!" Madam Martinez angrily shouted, and the surroundings instantly quieted down.
Her eyes swept through everyone in the living room. "If I hear anyone insulting Haley's two children again, don't blame me for not holding back."
The younger generation of the Martinez family immediately shrunk their necks, but at the same time, their eyes were filled with unwillingness.
Haley's mother was the only daughter of the Martinez family. She had been pampered since childhood.
Later, when she got married, she even brought two million from the Martinez family to establish the DeRoss Group.
Madam Martinez treated this daughter as the apple of her eye and gave her everything good from the Martinez family. This was all until Haley's mother died.
Everyone thought that the old lady would not be biased anymore. Unexpectedly, Haley then got all her love and attention, along with the 50% shares in the DeRoss Group.
"Grandma, this time I came back to Cuenca to discuss business with the Martinez family," Haley said as she opened the bag she had with her and took out a document.
She placed the document on the table and calmly stated, "I studied computer programming in college. In the past four years, while furthering my education at Harvard University, I developed an intelligent chip. This chip has not been released yet and I am currently looking for a business partner. I hope to collaborate with the Martinez family."
"Haley, who do you think you are? Just based on what you said, do you think the Martinez family will partner up with you?" Barbara sneered. "The Martinez Group is one of the top ten conglomerates in Cuenca. There are countless companies begging to collaborate with us, but we don't even bother to look at them! What makes you think you're special?"
Madam Martinez was about to speak, but Steven Martinez interrupted her.
He took a step forward and said, "Mom, Haley is my niece, and I also care for her. However, we can't bend the rules for personal feelings when it comes to company matters. The Martinez Group is currently struggling to enter the market for internet smart products. We can't change our business partners just because of Haley."
"The Martinez Group has invested a huge amount of money to acquire an intelligent chip from overseas, and it is about to go into production. Why should we change our partner just because of your words?"
"I think Haley just wants to use this collaboration to ask Grandma for money. You shouldn't be so obvious."
"I really don't understand why she came back after everyone thought she was dead."
"Grandma must have loved her so much that her name must be in the will."
"She belongs to the DeRoss family. Why should we trust her, especially after all the scandals that happened back then?”
The members of the Martinez family voiced their opinions, and even the members who usually fought with each other surprisingly had a unified stance.
Madam Martinez was furious that her long-awaited granddaughter finally agreed to come back, only to face hostility from her own family members. The veins on her forehead were throbbing.
However, before Madam Martinez could say anything, a cute voice suddenly spoke up.
Todd had always been a quiet child, but he couldn't stand by when his mother was being attacked.
The little boy took a step forward and looked up at Steven. "Mr. Steven, may I ask if the Martinez Group's intelligent chip is the MCP12 produced by Ande Corporation?"
Frowning, Steven asked, "How do you know?'
"I know that although this chip is smooth, it is not perfect in terms of functionality. There are many instructions that cannot be received. However, if we embed the AMP1 and RIWE-34 processors into it, it can greatly enhance the chip's intelligence." Todd calmly continued, "If the Martinez Group wants to carve out a share in the smart market, it's best not to choose this chip."
At only four years old, he stood inconspicuously among the crowd. However, his words caused everyone present to change their expressions.
Young people who didn't work at the Martinez Group might not understand, but Steven understood too well.
Each point this child made was something his assistant had mentioned, something he had considered improving.
However, even multinational corporations couldn't produce the perfect smart chip, let alone the Martinez Group. This market was just kickstarting.
Steven finally suppressed his contempt and asked, "How do you know so much?"
When he was four or five years old, he was still playing with mud. He didn't even know what a smart chip was, let alone such complicated terms.
Todd blinked his eyes and replied, "My mommy taught me. Professor Haver called my mommy a genius in chips. If you collaborate and work with my mommy, you and your company will profit."
Haley gently touched her son's head, feeling somewhat helpless.
Todd was the real prodigy. This child has been interested in computers since he was born.
At only four years old, he became a skilled hacker. She was able to successfully develop this chip with Todd's help. Otherwise, it wouldn't have gone so smoothly.
Haley pushed the contract over and said softly, "Uncle Steven, you can take a look at the chip details in the contract."
Steven opened the contract with mixed emotions.
Then, he was shocked. The Martinez Group had spent three months and hired over a hundred computer programmers to develop this chip, but they couldn't solve the problem. Yet, Haley easily cracked it.
If the intelligent chip she developed was truly as described in the contract, then the Martinez Group would soar in the smart market.
"Haley, do you still have plans to collaborate with another company?" Steven suppressed his excitement and asked.
Haley's voice remained cold as usual. "Not for now."
"Haley, I will sign the contract right away!" Steven eagerly asked someone to bring a pen.
Barbara widened her eyes and exclaimed, "Dad, are you crazy? Can't you see that Haley and this little bastard child are deliberately misleading you?"
