Chapter 50 Daddy's Girl

Chapter 50 Daddy's Girl
Gazing herself in the full-length mirror, she couldn't help to smile bitterly. She looks so stunning and magnificent in her white wedding gown. She remembers dreaming this day way back when she was young. Wearing a very beautiful white gown looking so brilliant and regal. Today is her wedding day with Thyago and the funny thing is she remembered he was the same man she dreamt to marry when she build those silly childhood dreams of her. Now that it happened, why then she feel so sad like she was attending a funeral instead of a wedding?
Starting through her eyes on the reflection of the mirror, she felt so sad because these hazel eyes aren't the same eyes she viewed in her dreams. They were supposed to be gleaming and reveling with too much happiness because after all, it was Thyago she was marrying. Isn't he was the man in her dream wedding before? Tears then suddenly started to fall into her cheeks how she get into this position.
Silly me, I shouldn't be crying on my own wedding day. I got the dream man I dreamt of years ago yet this is not the wedding dream I had. Why does it feel like fate is playing games on me? Why do I feel this searing pain and sadness?
She immediately wiped the tears that fell from her cheeks before they ruin her whole makeup. She heaved a long sigh and fix herself, that's just the time when she heard a gentle knock on the door. It was her Dad with these teary eyes wanting to give her a visit before she walks on the aisle. Her old man silently gazed at her whole appearance while looking so emotional and sad when he walked near her.
"You looked like a princess, my Sunshine...." Her Dad emotionally stated. Her eyes watered when she caught him wiping his tears using his hanky.
"Thank you, Dad." She replied trying to make her voice cheerful.
"I can't believe that you are a grown-up woman and about to get married now. You looked so beautiful in that traditional white dress. You'll always be pretty in my eyes anyway Sunshine." Her father complimented.
"I know, Dad" She giggled.
Her father laughed too and then all of a sudden she heard him heave out a long sigh as him he was trying to comfort himself. That made her smile and look at him endearingly. Her Daddy is indeed getting emotional about her sudden decision of marrying Thyago.
"Hope I did not disappoint you when I told you I'm marrying Thyago instead of Matt." She told him.
She knew her father got surprised and confused when he found Matt and her broke up and then all of a sudden she decided to marry Thyago in a haste. He asked her if she was sure about her decision and she answered him with a nod. Her father never commented nor opposed on her decision after that. He respected her will and said he wished her nothing but happiness. If he only knew that she was doing it to save her firm, she was not sure if he will still give her his blessings.
"I admit, it surprised me though, but whatever your decision is, you know I'll always support you as long it will make you happy." Her Dad answered understandingly.
She gave him a thankful smile. She knew, she will never going to have the courage to tell him her reasons but what matters is he loved and support her and that's what all she needed right now.
"You love him, I can see that in your eyes." That stunned her. Her father really knew her from the roots of her head until the tip of her toes.
"Soon enough you'll going to build your own family and have your own kids too. My Sunshine is no longer a little girl who always needs her Daddy's guidance and care. I knew I raised you well because you turned into a good, lovable and kindhearted person with a sympathetic and understanding heart. You are a real true meaning of blessing to me and you are the best gift I ever received in my entire life. I am so proud to be your father, Sunshine." Her father's voice broke and as he goes sentimental.
"Dad..." She couldn't help to utter as tears started to form in her eyes.
"Do you remember when you read a poem to me about being a wonder kid way back when you're nine, Sunshine?" She smiled remembering that memory when she was a little kid.
How could she forget that? She recited that poem in front of him when she was a little girl on Father's Day. She could still remember some parts of the line. The poem is about the traits of how a wonderful kid should act. It says a wonder kid should be always good, kind-hearted, never bad, have fear in God, and stuff like that. She could still remember what she told him after reciting the poem to him and that made her smile even more.
"You said you may not be a wonder kid just like in the poem but you'll try your best to be one and then I said you don't have to be because simply by being you makes you a wonderful daughter to me. Well, that's true Sunshine, you never failed to make me happy and I have always been very proud to be your Dad." His father stated that deeply warmed her heart. How she loves her old man. She was indeed thankful that he was her father.
"I love you Dad..." She replied now with tears in her eyes.
"I may not give you such advice in marriage life. You see your Mom and I did not end up together but you know you can always count on me whenever you have problems. I will always be there when you need me."
There he goes again. She knew he was hurting whenever he talks about her mother. Truth is, she was uncomfortable too talking about that woman so as much as possible she avoid including her in their conversation.
"I know Dad. Hey! Why are you talking like I'm about to leave you? I will still be your one and only Sunshine, Dad." She couldn't help to add.
"I love you my Sunshine, always keep that in mind."
With that, she embraced her father so tightly. She could sense he was restraining his tears because she saw him wipe his eyes after a while. She wonders then, do parents get emotional whenever their child gets married? She will never know until she became one, she guessed.
"Shall we, Sunshine?" Her father asked then offer his hand.
"Thanks for everything, Dad. I love you so much..." She emotionally replied.
She then cling her hand to her Dad's arm letting him know her gratitude before they decided to leave the room to head to the wedding ceremony venue.
