Chapter 48 Pregnant
The moment she opened the main door at the penthouse, she got stunned when Thyago immediately grabbed her and claimed her lips hotly and fervently. Moments later she found herself responding to his kisses. She had missed him the reason why she couldn't resist his kisses. She wanted to castigate herself for acting and feeling this way because she shouldn't responding to his kisses. She should treat him cold and rude not this way she was acting like she missed him terribly.
"God, I missed you." He whispered after he let go of her lips.
"That kiss is the best gift I ever received this week. I love the way you responded to my kisses, baby." He said smiling.
She felt her cheeks flush after hearing him say that. He had just come back from the country and he brought her lots of expensive gifts and souvenirs from the countries he came from. She did not show she was happy with the gifts. In fact, she let them where he placed them and never bother to look or check them.
"Tomorrow, I want us to meet the wedding planner. We will start on the preparations of our wedding." He was seated on the couch where she was sitting as her eyes went on him.
She wanted to argue with him and let him feel her annoyance. Her eyes darted on him as she felt his hand wrap her waist. She was about to stand up and move away but she suddenly felt dizzy and almost lost her balance out of dizziness. Good thing Thyago attentively caught her immediately.
"Hey, what's wrong?" He asked full of concerns and worries.
"I-I j-just suddenly felt dizzy." She answered stuttering looking away from him.
The dizziness she feels makes her wanna vomit. This is normal on her condition since she was pregnant. She usually feels this during mornings and at night and she has been experiencing this for more than a week now. How can she tell him that this is only normal because she was pregnant? She wanted to keep her pregnancy from him for the meantime until she was not sure that he wants the baby. What if he doesn't? She will pity her child because of the rejection of his own father.
To her surprise, Thyago suddenly carried her and gently laid her on the couch to relax. She got surprised when he suddenly gently massage her temples.
"I'm okay, I'm fine now." She insisted.
"No more buts. Just don't argue and let me massage you so you'll feel relaxed." He said and continue what he's doing.
"How do you feel? Do you still feel dizzy?" He then asked.
"Yeah, a bit." The truth is she still feels dizzy and nauseating. She lied for him not to be worried and gets paranoid.
"Why do you always get dizzy? The last time I saw you, you also lost balance and almost tumble down because of dizziness. Tell me, are you taking good of yourself?" He castigated.
Funny because she couldn't help to feel delighted about his concerns instead of being annoyed. Seriously, it was no big deal. She can bear the pain. Thyago is just being overreacting and too paranoid.
"I don't know, lack of sleep maybe." She reasoned out. When she felt the dizziness gets stronger she couldn't help but wince in pain.
"Are you okay? You look pale you're starting to make me feel nervous." He said looking alarmed.
She didn't know but instead of relaxing she suddenly felt the searing pain in her head get stronger and the place seem to be swaying in her sight until she doesn't notice she passed out in the arms of Thyago.
When she gained consciousness, she wakes up in a white room and was lying in a hospital bed. A nurse is attending her as she met Thyago's eyes seating beside her.
Fear and concern are what she read on his expression when she met his eyes.
"You brought me to the hospital?" She asked.
"You lost consciousness. I got so worried. How do you feel, now?" He held her hand and pressed it gently? A gesture that warm her heart.
"I'm okay now. This is just normal. You shouldn't bring me here to the hospital." She stated trying to arise in the bed but he stopped her in doing so.
"What do you mean normal? It's not normal to pass out because of dizziness, Bea!" He exclaimed in anger and frustration.
This time, Thyago seems dropped dead serious so she never argues with him anymore. A few moments later, the doctor came up and talk to them.
"What's was her condition Doc?" Thyago agitatedly asked the doctor.
"There's nothing to worry about. Your girlfriend is one month pregnant Mr. Williams!" The doctor happily announced.
With a stunned look on Thyago's face as if he was bitten by a snake, he slowly stared at her for a long moment and she saw how his expression changes from being shocked to a mellow face with tearful eyes. He was happy that's what she realized.
"Feeling dizzy and nauseating is just normal. Being fuzzy on foods or losing out of appetite is normal too during the early pregnancy stage but I advise you to eat healthy foods for the good development of the baby." The doctor stated.
"But she passed out Doc, is that even normal?" Thyago then asked that stunned her. He held her hand gently it's as if he was so concerned about her and the baby.
She have the wrong impression that he wasn't like the baby. She was wrong on that part because he liked the baby, the result of what he have done. The result of her oblivion and infidelity to Matt. He was now carrying his child, his offspring. This was sudden and she never expected it. Yes, she agreed to marry him but to bear him a child? It's not what she wanted and expected. She knew this marriage will not be the perfect marriage she thought it was. She knew their upcoming union will turn into misery that will might end up to divorce so a child is out of her vocabulary. This was something unexpected and she didn't know how to deal with it.
"It generally doesn't mean something is wrong. It's most common during the first trimester, but it can happen anytime during pregnancy. Dizziness and fainting are often caused by a drop in blood pressure. This is from the hormones released during pregnancy that relax the body's blood vessels."
"She said she been lacking sleep lately. Is that normal too?" Matt asked again.
"Oh no, the amount of sleep you get while you're pregnant not only affects you and your baby but could impact your labor and delivery as well. Lack of sleep during pregnancy might be tied to several complications, including preeclampsia. This condition could result in premature birth. Now is the time to take sleep seriously. I advised your Ob-Gynecologist should monitor you and your baby more closely." The doctor explained.
"I will consult that to my Obstetrician, Doc." She replied.
"What do you mean you will consult your Obstetrician? So you knew all along you were pregnant?" Thyago immediately confronted her. That's when she realized what she had said. She went silent for a moment and didn't answer him.
"I think I should leave now. I'll fix your discharge now and you can go home anytime you may want." The doctor then stated as if he noticed the tension between them then left the room.
"So you knew all along that you were pregnant and you never bother to tell me?" He accused angrily.
"Answer me dammit! Are you planning to keep it from me?" He asked furiously.
She swallowed hard in agitation and bewilderment. She planned to keep it yes, but not for a long time. She knew she can never hide it from him sooner. She was planning to tell him after the wedding but the situation did not allow her to be.
"We should really have to marry earlier because we will be going to have a child." He uttered seriously like it was a finality.
"I never wanted this!" She exclaimed.
"Don't you dare abort my child, Bea because I swear you will regret it!" He shouted lividly as she felt his glares are like daggers stabbing in every fiber of her bones.
"I am not that cruel to hurt my own flesh and blood, Thyago. I may hate you so much and I might not want this but I will keep this baby no matter what." She retorted.
How dare him to think that she can kill her own baby? She was the mother and she cares for the baby more than he does.
"I hate you!" She couldn't help to burst in between tears and anger.
Thyago then darted her eyes on her. He heaved out a long sigh after a long moment of silence then he seated on the bench beside her hospital bed and face her.
"You can hate me or despise me, I don't care. You will marry me and be my wife, that's the deal you agreed with." He stated solemnly while seriously staring through her eyes.
Tears suddenly sprung on her face and she didn't even notice it. She is in between doubts, fears, and bewilderment about what will be this loveless marriage will lead them to. That's the scene that was caught by Thyago. She glared at him and they battled glares at each other. How dare he to remind her about the deal as if she was forgetting it. How dare he accuse her as if she can bear to abort their baby. No matter how she despises carrying his child, she will never do such a cruel thing. Of course, she'll keep the baby because it was her child too. This manipulative ruthless bastard! How she hates him so much!
As he was driving they were silent and no one bothers to make a conversation between them. She was mad at him so she have no plans to talk to him. They had dinner at a fancy hotel's restaurant and all throughout the meal, she was silent and not paying attention in everything he said. She don't have the appetite to eat because she was still upset. Thyago tried to make a conversation by telling her stories about his family and other different details he want for the wedding. He even asked her what kind of wedding she wants but she never answered him and just kept remained silent. That's when she heard him sigh and gently hold her hand.
"Okay, I understand that I upset you, I'm sorry okay. Can you please talk to me now?" He pleaded.
She looked straight into his eyes and still she never bothered to answer him. She was just not in the mood of talking to him. She was still mad and perhaps this is one of her mood swings during pregnancy so he have to bear and tolerate her.
"What can I do to ease the anger you felt for me at the moment?" He gently asked.
"I wanna rest I'm pretty tired Thyago..." She said it in an exhausted voice.
She heard him heave out a long frustrated sigh before he stand up and gently took her hand. He called the waiter for the bills and they left the restaurant. He brought her back to the penthouse to let her rest just like she wanted. Before he left and bade goodbye, he gently kissed her on the forehead that sends electrifying feelings on her. His kisses always give her that amazing feeling that he never felt to Matt every time they kiss.
She hated him kissing her on the forehead. It makes her feel like special, it makes her feel he love her, and unfortunately, it made her wish forever which made her realize she was so stupid enough to believe so. If he does love her he wouldn't force her to marry him, he will not make her feel cheap and take advantage of her weaknesses. He would woe her in a proper way and think of her feelings. No amount of money can buy love, that's what she believes. And if he do love her, he would respect and win her heart instead, than insult her and degrade her morale by buying her just to marry him. He doesn't love her, he just desires her and that kind of desire is nothing but lust...
