Chapter 33 Reunion Party
Wearing a red haltered dress that perfectly fitted her body emphasizing her small waist and firm butt, she couldn't help to smile. Her cleavage is a bit revealed and her hair was perfectly tied in a bun. She applied light make up matching it with red velvet lipstick. Observing herself in the full-length mirror, a smile automatically painted her lips. Her dress is a bit revealing but stunning. She doesn't want to boast she knew she look gorgeous in her outfit as she stare at her reflection.
After being content with how she looks, she then proceeded to the living room where Thyago is waiting for her. Tonight is Thyago's High School Reunion Party and she agreed to be his date. When Thyago noticed her coming, his attention automatically went through her. He looked at her with awe as he slowly observe her appearance and that made her feel conscious and a bit uncomfortable.
"You look brilliant." He uttered as his eyes never left hers.
"Thanks." She answered timidly.
She wanted to tell him that he too looked good and handsome in his dark suit but she suddenly got ashamed to put it into words. He opened the car door for her and guide her to hop in when they were about to leave. He's always been a gentleman, one of the traits she admired about him. When they reached the reception he intertwined his hand on hers and together they entered the party while holding hands.
The venue was in a function hall, it was wonderfully decorated and done fantastically while old pictures of the batch way back in high school that was taken from the campus were scattered everywhere. She suddenly relate to them and felt nostalgic for she study at the same school but unfortunately, it was not her batch. As they walk together, they were greeted by Thyago's friends which she recognized in faces but not in names.
"Thyago Williams! Is that really you?" Exaggeratedly said by a girl wearing a dark blue long dress. She got big proud boobs with her cleavage half flaunted. They were fake because they were not bouncing while she walks, she concluded. If she was not mistaken she's a close friend of Elena way back then. She was one of the girls who made fun of her so she can never forget her face. Thinking of her cousin, she wonders where is she now? This batch used to be her batch too. She roam her eyes everywhere but she failed to find her. She was hoping and secretly wishing that she will not attend the party because she don't think she can face her.
"Yes, it's me, Julie." She heard Thyago happily replied.
"Your name is always on the business page bro. You can't be reached now!" Said the man whose wearing a beige tuxedo. If she was not mistaken he used to be the Captain of the football team where Thyago is a member way back then.
"Yeah! You were now one of the youngest business tycoons of the country." A tanned girl wearing a black dress stated which she thought was the girlfriend of the latter for they were holding each other's hands. She knew her name was Claire, one of the members of the cheering squad. She was the older sister of her classmate Charrie way back in her Junior high days so she recognized her.
"You looked dashing." The girl named Julie uttered in a flirty way while looking meaningfully at Thyago. She rolled her eyes in disgust, she just couldn't help it. The girl was obviously showing a sign of desire by the way he looks at Thyago. Thyago then cleared his throat as he tighten his hold on her.
Bitch before, still a bitch now. Some people don't change. I couldn't be surprised!!!
"I'd like you to meet Bea Wattson, my date." He proudly stated.
The three suddenly got stunned and it seems like they have swallowed their tongue for a moment after hearing her name.
"D-Don't tell me she is the same Bea Watson we knew? The nerdy pathetic cousin of Elena who used to have a crush on---" Julie suddenly stopped talking when Thyago cut her off.
"Are you familiar with Wattson Interior Firm?" He stated.
"You mean she is Beatrice Wattson, the famous interior designer who owns that firm?" Claire surprisingly uttered as the man beside him was still in shock.
"The one and only," Thyago answered slyly.
"You used to be Charrie's classmate right? Wow! You were successful in your chosen career!" Claire stated sincerely that made her smile genuinely.
"T-Thanks" She shyly answered.
After some chit-chats and a little conversation, Thyago guided her to a vacant table and took some drinks for the both of them.
"I'm sorry about Julie---"
"It's okay, I'm ready for this." She cut him off.
Some of his friends with their dates and partners came to their table and talked to him. They greeted each other and have some short conversation. Thyago introduced her to each of them. Some got surprised, some got amazed. But there was this one man named Zach who's according to Thyago was his best friend that stated strange words that she couldn't help to wonder what he meant for.
"You finally got her man. Congrats!" He said and she doesn't even know who he was pertaining to.
She couldn't understand what does he mean by that. She doesn't even know if she'll feel insulted or what, but he doesn't seem insulting though. His expression seemed happy and genuine. As far as she was concerned, she was just Thyago's date and nothing more. It's either some of his friends might having a wrong impression that they were an item and Thyago is not bothering to correct them. Everyone is in a party mood and she was somehow getting at ease with Thyago's friends. When an old romantic song was played, Thyago asked her to dance.
"No way!" She declined shaking her head.
"Come on Bea, you were my date remember?" He convinced her trying to look cute and that made her laugh. Well most of his friends now are dancing having their partners and they were both left alone at the table
"I don't feel like dancing." She reasoned out.
"Please..." He begged giving her such a puppy look as he clasped his both hands in front of her.
She laughed at that gesture for he was a bit childish and funny that made him cute and adorable so she nod as an answer. He gently guided her to the dancefloor as he held her hand. The next song being played is This time by Freestyle. She gently put her arms around his neck encircling him while his hands were on her waist.

Thyago's eyes straightly looked at her meaningfully. She don't understand but there was something in his eyes as if he was keeping something behind those blue orbs that he wanted to put into words or something. His eyes have this emotion that she couldn't name, yet she couldn't stand staring at him for a long time. When the song reached the chorus, she got stunned when he suddenly sing together to the tune of the song while still giving her that look in the eyes. He still has a good voice as she can remember before and as he sings the song, her heart is racing like horses on a racetrack. It suddenly felt hard to breathe as she started to feel uneasy.

She felt her downy hair raised as he sing every phrase of the lyrics. This is not true, he doesn't mean what he was singing, does he? This is not a date and they both knew the reason she agreed to be his date is just to accompany him in this event. Her being his choice when he could easily get a date in this event in just a flick of a hand? She can't help to wonder that too. Why her and not one of his girl companions who's agitated in his attention?
The song continued to play. She knew the song but hearing the lyrics from Thyago was different and it seems like he mean it.
His eyes are almost teary and her feelings turned into a haze. With every phrase he sing was like hitting her heart little by little. Why does she suddenly hate the song and the lyrics because it brings her back to the past and makes her wanna believe and hope that he means every word he was saying now. When the song ended, they remained on the dance floor staring at each other. His eyes are warm and teary and hers are confused and accusing. What is he trying to say with those stares? Does he mean it like how he sang the song a while ago?
Realization finally struck her when someone spoke in the microphone taking everyone's attention. She stoop down her head then she felt Thyago held her hand and guide her back to their table. She silently followed and let him lead the way as her mind and feelings is still confused.
"Hey everyone! Remember the famous and cool guys in our batch before?" Everyone shouted and cheered as the emcee started to speak. It was Careenah their batch school's president of the student's council.
"Okay let's have a little fun here. I will call names and may I ask them to come here at the stage and let's get updates on their lives. You can tell us if you were still single, married or taken, what's your profession now, what's the updates in your life, stuff like that... " The emcee stated and everyone shouted and cheered again.
"May I call in JC Hampton who used to be the Captain of the Football team and Claire Philsen who used to be a member of the Cheering Squad! They came together so let's start from them." The two then came to the stage as the crowd gets noisy.
According to the emcee they used to be in a relationship in high school and the couple then proudly announced that they were now engaged to be married. Everyone clapped their hands and happily congratulated them.
"Next was Zachary Smith and Sophia Marie Taylor." The emcee announced the next couple.
Thyago's best friend Zac went up to the stage together with a Barbie blonde with a sexy voluptuous body. Most men gasped and some cheered when they saw the girl went up to the stage. They were in a relationship way back in high school according to the emcee. So meaning they were calling names who used to be couples before to get updates in each other lives and tease them maybe. The couple said they broke up after high school and are currently in a relationship with someone else. Her heart suddenly throbbed for she have names in mind which she was afraid to be called since they were calling names who used to be in a relationship way back then. As the emcee kept on calling names, couples kept on climbing up the stage and giving updates on their present lives.
"Now this couple I'm going to call used to be our Prom King and Queen. Are you guys excited now?" The crowd became wild and noisy again.
"Okay, may I call in at the stage no other than Thyago Williams and Elena Watson!" Everyone cheered and gave them a round of applause. The loud noise suddenly gets her irritated.
And there goes Elena with her beautiful stunning gown now climbing up the stage. She finally showed up with a very dramatic entrance. She felt Thyago gently grasped her hand, asking for her permission. She nods expressionless. Who is she to decline then?
At last, they were finally called. Why did she hope they will never be called? Foolish her! Suddenly she was enveloped by sadness and some dark emotions. She realized she shouldn't agree coming to Thyago here. She suddenly felt out of place and realized she doesn't belong in the place. It might be her ego or the painful memories that she got with these people that start to haunt her. Why did she agree going with Thyago to this party anyway? To prove to them that she was successful now and they were wrong when they bullied her? Well, no one even seems to care anyway and she doesn't even feel happy and satisfied. Maybe she doesn't need this after all. She doesn't have to prove anything to them because they don't have a slight idea of what she's gone through...
