At the company, Lance had just finished a meeting and returned to his office when Xavier followed him in with a peculiar expression.
"What's wrong?" Lance asked, noticing Xavier's look.
Xavier reported truthfully, "While you were in the meeting, I received a call from Shannon. She said that Miss Eula was disrespectful to the missus at the manor and even made threats."
Upon hearing this, Lance's face immediately turned cold. Before he could say anything, his phone on the desk rang. It was Gunner calling.
"Mr. Martinez," he greeted politely.
Gunner's displeased voice came through the phone, "Lance, if you can't control your friends, don't expect me to step in and manage things. The heir of the Martinez family is not someone to be bullied. When the time comes, I won't hold back just because of you."
Lance understood that Mr. Martinez was referring to the incident where Deanna was wronged earlier that morning. His eyes darkened as he replied, "I just found out about this. Rest assured, I won't let anyone bully Deanna."
"It better be that way. I'll be watching you," Gunner warned before hanging up.
Lance put down his phone and instructed Xavier with a grim expression, "Prepare the car. We're going back to the manor."
Xavier nodded and left to carry out the order.
Ten minutes later, they arrived at the manor. Upon entering the living room, Lance didn't see Deanna and called Sam over to ask, "Where is the missus?"
"Missus went to the research institute," Sam reported truthfully.
Lance nodded and then asked, "Where is Eula?"
"Miss Eula is resting upstairs," Sam said, looking hesitantly at Mr. Mercer.
Finally, unable to hold back, he added, "Young master, it's not my place to speak ill of others, but Miss Eula is ungrateful. Although she saved you, you have already paid the price and made promises. She claims to be your friend but shows no respect for the missus."
"I understand. I came back to deal with this matter," Lance replied coldly, his displeasure towards Eula growing.
Sam had never spoken ill of anyone before; this was the first time Lance heard him complain, indicating how excessive the situation had been in his absence.
He ordered coldly, "Send someone to invite Eula to the study."
Eula was unaware that her image in Lance's mind was steadily declining. Hearing the servant's words, she was both surprised and delighted. Lance had returned at this time and specifically asked for her. Although it might be for business, it was still a rare opportunity to be alone with him, especially since that wretched woman Deanna wasn't home.
Thinking of this, Eula quickly opened her wardrobe to pick an outfit that would showcase her alluring figure. A few minutes later, she appeared at the study door in a light-colored spaghetti strap dress. Her golden hair flowed loosely behind her, and her well-defined features were accentuated with light makeup, giving her a cold and stunning look.
Knock knock-
Eula knocked on the study door and walked in with a seductive smile. "I heard you were looking for me. Is there something you need?"
Lance looked at the sensuous woman approaching and frowned. "I heard you had an unpleasant encounter with Deanna this morning, so I came back to ask about it."
Eula's smile froze for a moment, and a flash of anger crossed her eyes. "Yes, that's true. What, did she complain to you?"
She admitted it openly but was inwardly furious. If that wretched woman Deanna had indeed complained, she wouldn't let her off easily.
Lance hadn't expected Eula to admit it so quickly but soon responded with a frown, "Deanna didn't complain to me, but my people are always around her; nothing escapes my notice."
Pausing for a moment, he continued in a stern voice, "Eula, I'm grateful you saved my life, but that doesn't mean I will tolerate you bossing around my fiancée. Do you understand?"
Hearing this, Eula pressed her red lips tightly together as jealousy threatened to overwhelm her. At that moment, she felt an urge to confess her feelings to Lance but ultimately held back because she knew it wouldn't end well now. As long as Deanna existed, she had no chance.
Lance didn't know what Eula was thinking. Seeing her remain silent, he continued indifferently, "Also, I see your injuries have mostly healed. One person should be enough to take care of you now. I've arranged for another villa to be prepared for you. Someone will help move your belongings shortly."
"You're kicking me out?" Eula looked at Lance in shock, her face turning exceptionally ugly. To her, Lance was doing this for that wretched woman Deanna! Consequently, her hatred for Deanna reached a boiling point at that moment!
