Upon hearing Sam's words, Deanna's expression darkened slightly, but she still allowed Sam to bring the person up.
Of course, she was well aware of Garrett's intentions.
While Garrett was unconscious, Mia not only made him sign a share transfer agreement but also a divorce agreement. The agreement clearly stated that all of Garrett's assets would go to Mia. In other words, when Garrett woke up in the hospital, he was penniless.
In fact, Garrett's situation was worse than Deanna had imagined. He had lost all the Jones family assets and his health had deteriorated significantly. Especially after causing trouble at the Howard family two days ago and being beaten by Raphael's men, his injuries had worsened. If he hadn't used Deanna's name, the hospital might not have even treated him.
Seeing Deanna sitting on the sofa, exuding an air of authority, Garrett felt a regret he had never experienced before. How could he have been so foolish to let Mia torment Deanna and lose such a valuable asset?
Overcome with emotion, he fell to his knees in front of Deanna and wept, "Deanna, I was wrong, so wrong..."
Deanna hadn't expected this from Garrett. After a moment of shock, she immediately stood up and stepped aside, refusing to accept his kneeling gesture. After all, Garrett was her father, and as a daughter, she couldn't accept such a gesture. Moreover, there were police officers present, and she didn't want to give them any reason to talk.
"Garrett, I don't care what your purpose is, but if you start like this, there's nothing for us to discuss. I'll have the butler send you away right now."
Deanna then turned to the two curious police officers and apologized, "I'm sorry for making you witness this and for using public resources to handle my family matters. If this happens again in the future, you can ignore it."
The two officers exchanged glances. The older officer spoke formally, "Mrs. Mercer, no need for apologies. If there are no other issues, we'll take our leave."
"Alright, I'll have someone see you out. Thank you for your trouble."
As Deanna spoke, she signaled Sam to arrange for their departure.
Once the officers left, Deanna turned back to Garrett, who was still kneeling on the ground, and coldly said, "Someone help him up and send him away!"
"I won't leave!" Garrett quickly retorted, scrambling to his feet with a complex expression.
He wiped his face, removing the tear stains, and said in a deep voice, "I think you know why I'm here today. With your current abilities, you should understand the situation. I hope you'll consider your mother's legacy and help me regain the company. That company is not just part of the Jones family; it's also your mother's hard work. You wouldn't want to see it fall into someone else's hands, would you?"
Hearing this, Deanna's lips curled into a sarcastic smile.
"Indeed, I won't let my mother's company fall into someone else's hands. But this has nothing to do with you anymore. Do you think I would hand it over to you once I get it back?"
Garrett was at a loss for words.
But he didn't want to give up and struggled to say, "I know you hate me because of your mother's death. But now I realize my mistake. I was blinded by Mia's lies. But we are still father and daughter; we share the same blood. Can't you give me a chance to make amends?"
"Ha! Give you a chance? Who will give my mother a chance to live again?"
Deanna sneered coldly at the man before her as she walked towards him with an imposing presence.
Garrett backed away in fear as Deanna's cold voice echoed in his ears.
"Garrett, if you truly knew your mistakes, you wouldn't appear before me. Every time you show up, it reminds me of how you betrayed my mother, drove us out of the Jones family, and caused her death. Do you think saying 'I was wrong' can erase all that?"
The more Deanna spoke, the more agitated she became.
Her eyes filled with blood as she glared at Garrett and gritted her teeth, "If it were possible, I would replace the blood in my veins that comes from you. And if Mia hadn't betrayed you and left you penniless, you wouldn't be bowing down to me now. Garrett, your current plight is entirely your own doing!"
"Even if it's my own doing, as long as you carry my blood, you can't get rid of me. Legally, you have an obligation to support me!"
Garrett met Deanna's hateful gaze with fear but still stood his ground.
Because now, apart from clinging to Deanna, no one would help him.
Mia and Emily were hiding in the Howard family, making it impossible for him to find them!
