As soon as he stepped out, he saw Eula with a group of people hurriedly emerging from the elevator.
"Miss Eula, what brings you here?"
"Something has gone wrong. Deanna's whereabouts have somehow been leaked. How could I not come when she might be in danger?"
Eula spoke irritably, her insincerity performed flawlessly.
Xavier smiled in relief, "I just received the news too and was about to inform the missus. With Miss Eula helping us evacuate, I can rest much easier."
"Enough talk, go find your missus. We need to leave now."
Eula urged.
Xavier nodded and led her to find Deanna.
Deanna, seeing Xavier enter with luggage followed by Eula and others, flashed a look of confusion, "What is this...?"
"Missus, we must leave immediately."
Xavier spoke, then turned to Shannon who was packing nearby and said urgently, "Stop packing. Put everything back in the suitcase, we need to leave right now!"
Hearing this, Deanna quickly asked, "Why?"
"You still have the nerve to ask? I told you to leave earlier and you didn't listen. Now your whereabouts have been leaked here, several forces are searching for you, trying to capture you to force Lance out!"
Eula glared at Deanna angrily, her words harsh, "Did you think I was joking when I said it was dangerous here? People really die here!"
Deanna, chastened and unable to retort, understood the urgency and signaled Shannon to repack the luggage quickly.
Within five minutes, the group cautiously left the hotel and got into the car.
Once in the car, Eula spoke gravely about her plans to Deanna.
"I'm being watched, so I can only take you to the highway then I must return. Since you arrived today, leaving immediately will arouse suspicion. I suggest you go downtown via the highway, stay there for a night, then pretend to sightsee tomorrow before returning home. During this time, I'll arrange for someone to covertly protect you. If there's any trouble, I'll notify you immediately."
After pausing for a few seconds, she continued sternly, "During this time, Miss Jones, please prioritize the bigger picture over your emotions. Remember, you're not alone; many are protecting you. Those criminals are not kind-hearted; they will kill. You wouldn't want to see your people die because of your mistakes."
Despite feeling uncomfortable with these words, Deanna accepted them.
"I know what to do."
Deanna nodded coldly.
Under the dark night sky, three black sedans drove swiftly in a straight line on the road.
The tense atmosphere spread among everyone.
Shannon and Nightingale had already drawn their weapons, ready for combat.
Fortunately, the journey went smoothly without any interceptions.
Soon, the cars stopped at an intersection where three other black sedans were parked.
Eula got out with Deanna and others and said coldly, "This is as far as I go. You'll drive about ten kilometers from here to the highway toll station. Once you're through the toll station, you'll be temporarily safe."
"Thank you for bringing us here, Miss Eula," Xavier expressed his gratitude.
Deanna also thanked Eula.
Although there were unpleasant moments between her and Eula, Deanna wasn't ungrateful.
Hearing Deanna's thanks, Eula chuckled but did not accept it. "Don't thank me. I'm helping you just to avoid putting Lance in a more difficult situation. After all, he cares about you the most right now. If something happens to you, he'd be completely tied down."
Deanna nodded then turned and got into the car signaling Xavier to drive.
In a moment, they disappeared at the end of the road.
Eula watched them leave, then slightly tilted her head with a bloodthirsty fierceness in her eyes, "Is everything arranged? And have those people tracked us here?"
"Everything is arranged. As for those people, according to the information received when we left, they should have reached ahead and set an ambush," her confidant replied respectfully.
Eula listened and smiled satisfactorily then got into her car after dropping a chilling command.
"I want Deanna to die on that road. Make sure it's handled cleanly without leaving any trace of us."
"Yes," her confidant nodded and took the order.
At that moment, Deanna sat nervously in the back of the car flanked by Shannon and Nightingale in combat readiness.
The quietness in the car made every heartbeat distinctly audible.
Looking at the dark road ahead, Deanna couldn't help but ask Mr. Nelson, "Do you know who these people trying to capture Lance are? Why are they pressing him so hard? Is there something about Lance that I don't know?"
