Meanwhile, at the hot spring resort developed by the Mercer Group in the western suburbs of the city, a black Maybach arrived.
The car slowly came to a stop at the entrance. Lance, dressed in a black custom-made suit, stepped out of the car.
He didn't leave immediately but turned around, bent slightly, and extended his hand into the car. His handsome face was so gentle.
"Madam, we have arrived."
A well-maintained, delicate hand reached out from the car and gracefully placed itself in Lance's palm. Deanna, dressed in a black women's suit, stepped out of the car.
At this moment, she had shed her former naivety and become strong, confident, and composed.
The manager nearby saw this and approached with a flattering smile on his face. "Congratulations, Madam, on winning the Chopel Medical Award. This is a small token of appreciation from me and our staff, thanking you for your contributions to human medicine!"
With that, he handed over the flowers he was holding.
Applause and congratulatory voices echoed around them.
"Congratulations, Madam."
"Madam is truly amazing!"
"I admire you so much, Madam!"
Hearing these words, Deanna smiled faintly. "Thank you."
Lance stood beside her, his eyes filled with pride.
The manager then led them to a private dining room.
Inside, Deanna's favorite dishes were already prepared.
As the two were enjoying their meal, Deanna's phone rang from her bag.
The call was from Julia.
"Julia, what's up?" Deanna asked as she answered the phone.
Lance's eyes narrowed upon hearing this. He looked up at Deanna and their eyes met.
Deanna's expression was somewhat appeasing. "Julia knows I'm back and has prepared a banquet to celebrate."
"Hasn't she been online?" Lance asked irritably.
He couldn't understand it. Deanna was his wife, yet in the past twelve years, getting alone time with her had been more competitive than vying for favor in a royal harem.
With external threats and internal schemers, plus Deanna's dedication to developing a drug to kill cancer cells, he barely spent five hours a week with her.
Seeing the jealous man, Deanna couldn't help but laugh. "Julia means well. Since I have nothing else planned today, let's invite Julia over. After that, I'll spend all my time with you. Wherever you go, I'll go, without any third wheels."
Hearing this, Lance looked up.
Their eyes met again as Deanna pleaded.
Finally, Lance agreed.
Half an hour later, the private dining room door opened. Julia entered with Chloe and her siblings and her two sisters, bringing their own lively atmosphere.
"Deanna, we're here!"
"Mommy!"
"Godfather, Godmother!"
Several voices rang out simultaneously, making the room lively.
Lance's face darkened as he looked at Julia. "Didn't you say it would just be you? What's with all these people?"
"Oh, I thought it would be boring with just the three of us celebrating, so I invited everyone. The more, the merrier!" Julia laughed and then sat beside Deanna, patting her chest in assurance. "Don't worry; I'm just here to celebrate and won't disturb your evening together."
Lance didn't want to say another word. She might not disturb them, but there were plenty of others who would.
Thinking of this, Lance decided to handle these nuisances himself. "Gregory, I remember the company is negotiating a new energy project in Eshor. Have you completed all the preparations?"
"Don't worry, Dad. I've arranged everything. Even if I rest for a few hours tonight, it won't affect anything. After all, no project is more important than Mom's celebration banquet."
Lance was defeated again and turned his gaze to Chloe.
Chloe sensed his look and spoke up before he could say anything. "I just finished a concert and will be resting for half a month."
After speaking, the little girl flashed a triumphant smile at Lance.
Lance had no choice but to glare at Jaron.
But before he could speak, Deanna stopped him. "Alright, it's rare for us to gather together. Let's enjoy a meal happily. It's been almost a month since our last family dinner."
Deanna spoke with some regret.
Over the years, she had been busy with her career. With a loving husband and understanding children, she had neglected her family.
Now that her career was complete, she felt it was time to make it up to her family.
Therefore, she didn't immediately agree to her master's proposal for a new project and planned to take a six-month break.
