Deanna stood at the door and knocked.
A second later, Lance's cold voice came from the study, "Come in."
Deanna pushed the door open and saw Lance sitting on the sofa opposite the woman she had seen at the door earlier.
She raised an eyebrow and asked, "You called me, is there something you need?"
"Come here."
Lance didn't answer but gestured for her to come over.
Deanna frowned slightly, glanced at the woman beside him, and then walked over without rejecting Lance's request. "What do you want me to do?"
"Sit next to me and listen to our discussion."
Lance said as he pulled Deanna to sit beside him.
She thought Lance had called her for something important, but it turned out to be for this.
However, she understood Lance's intention and felt a bit sweet inside.
"Since you invited me, I'll reluctantly be an observer. Go ahead with your discussion."
Deanna said as she found a comfortable position and picked up a magazine next to her to read.
Lance's face showed a doting smile.
Eula watched the warm scene in front of her, her jealousy boiling inside.
She gritted her teeth secretly and swore in her heart that one day she would drive Deanna away from Lance.
Perhaps her malice was too obvious, Deanna suddenly put down the magazine and looked over with cold eyes. "Miss, if you keep looking at me with such malice, don't blame me for being rude."
Eula stiffened all over.
Clearly, she hadn't expected Deanna to call her out directly.
Hearing this, Lance's face immediately darkened. His sharp eyes shot towards Eula, his voice filled with threat. "It seems the previous lesson wasn't enough for you!"
"Lance, I was wronged, blamed unfairly, lost so much money and assets, and even our relationship broke because of this woman. Am I not allowed to have any resentment?"
Eula knew that denying it now would be useless.
So she admitted her hatred and looked over with feigned grievance. "I knew you before her. We went through life and death together. I'm more suitable for you than she is. Why can't you see my worth? Is it just because she gave you two children?"
At this point, her eyes showed unwillingness.
"If I hadn't saved you back then, I could have given you children too. I've sacrificed so much for you. Why can't you be fair to me?"
"Feelings are never about fairness. As for saving my life, I've already repaid that debt. Otherwise, you wouldn't have the chance to say these things in front of me."
Lance remained unmoved, looking at her coldly.
Deanna didn't speak, her gaze shifting between the two of them.
She had thought she and this woman were probably rivals in love, but from what was said just now, she realized there were many things she didn't know.
But it didn't matter; she could ask Lance later.
Eula didn't know what Deanna was thinking.
After hearing Lance's words, she trembled with anger and looked over in disbelief. "You wronged me back then and wanted to destroy me completely. I used my last two conditions to save my life. Now that this woman is back, it's clear I didn't capture her. Yet you tell me the debt is repaid? Lance, you truly are the most outstanding businessman of our time."
The implication was that Lance never suffered a loss.
Hearing this, Lance's face also turned ugly and unnatural.
He had indeed suspected that Deanna's capture and disappearance were Eula's doing. But from the current situation, it seemed he might have wronged Eula.
Yet he still couldn't believe these events had nothing to do with Eula.
The most important thing was that his suspicions lacked concrete evidence, making it very tricky.
After thinking for a moment, Lance made a decision. "List out how much your family lost. I'll compensate you later."
"And what about my life-saving grace?"
Eula pressed on, wanting another promise from Lance.
Lance saw through her scheme and looked at her coldly. "Don't be too greedy. Just because there's no evidence doesn't mean I don't know what's going on."
Seeing this, Eula knew this was Lance's biggest concession.
But she was unwilling. Taking a deep breath, she adopted a negotiating posture and continued, "I don't know what you're referring to. If you think I've done something wrong or harmful to you, say it. Otherwise, I don't want what's rightfully mine to disappear without reason!"
Lance frowned deeply at her insistence on a promise.
At this moment, Deanna suddenly spoke up. "Since this lady wants a promise, give it to her. After all, she did save your life. We can't let others think we are ungrateful."
Almost as soon as she finished speaking, both Lance and Eula looked at her.
Eula was very surprised.
She hadn't expected Deanna to persuade Lance to agree to her request.
