Eula was cautious. Naturally, she immediately sensed the trap in Lance's words. She feigned surprise and said, "It seems you, like me, have found the mastermind."
Lance's eyes darkened upon hearing this. Eula was truly cunning without making any mistakes.
Before Lance could speak, Eula's voice came through the phone again. "Since you've already found the information, I don't need to tell you where I am. I'll be waiting here for you to give me an explanation." With that, Eula hung up the phone.
Lance put down his phone, his expression unreadable. Gunner, noticing his unusual demeanor, asked with concern, "What's wrong?"
"Eula has captured Bella to prove her innocence," Lance replied, looking up.
Gunner was momentarily stunned as he recalled this person. He frowned and hesitated, "So we wronged that woman?"
After saying this, he felt something was off but couldn't pinpoint it. He looked at Lance, intending to hear his thoughts.
Meeting Gunner's gaze, Lance understood his thoughts and spoke in a low voice about the Cody family.
"After the Cody family left Cloudmere, they fell from a first-rate family to a second-rate one. Although they found an in-law for support, their capabilities were limited. Yet Bella managed to snatch Deanna from Duncan and Brent. Even if she hired mercenaries, the ones she could contact would only be peripheral mercenaries. True mercenaries wouldn't bother with such tasks."
"So you mean that Eula is still behind this, and Bella is just a scapegoat," Gunner quickly grasped the core of Lance's reasoning.
Lance did not deny it. "There's a high chance that's the case."
Hearing this, Gunner stared intently at him. "Evidence?"
"I don't have evidence now, but we might get some when we see Bella," Lance said, narrowing his eyes.
From what he knew of Bella, she wouldn't willingly be a scapegoat. The only possibility was that Bella didn't realize she was being used.
Seeing Lance's confident demeanor, Gunner snorted lightly. "I don't care how you handle this; I just want Deanna safe and sound. And there must absolutely be no next time!"
"I won't allow a next time either!" Lance solemnly replied, as if making a promise.
Gunner was satisfied with his attitude but didn't show it. He said coolly, "I hope so."
The plane continued its flight. Several hours later, Lance and Gunner finally arrived at Chelsea Quays.
As soon as they disembarked, Eula's people approached them. "Mr. Mercer, Mr. Martinez, our master has been waiting for a long time. Please follow me."
The man respectfully made a gesture of invitation. Lance shot him a cold glance before following him towards the yacht.
On the yacht, Eula was already waiting on the deck. Seeing Lance and Gunner approach, she greeted them proactively, "You're here."
"Where is she?" Lance cut straight to the point, not wanting to waste time on pleasantries.
Eula wasn't surprised by his attitude and said, "She's locked in a room. If you want to interrogate her, I'll bring her out."
Lance did not refuse. Soon after, Bella was brought out. Seeing Lance on the deck, her pupils contracted sharply, and she began to tremble in fear.
Lance looked at her with eyes as cold as death itself. "Take her away."
"Wait," Eula called out to Lance as he prepared to leave.
Xavier looked at Mr. Mercer for instructions. Lance turned his head, his cold eyes waiting for Eula's next words.
Eula stepped forward and said, "You're just going to take her away without saying anything to me?"
"The matter hasn't been fully investigated; you're still a suspect," Lance replied before signaling Xavier to leave.
Eula watched them walk away without any expression on her face. However, Prosser beside her voiced his disapproval, "Master, are you just going to let Lance take her away?"
"Lance no longer trusts me; he wouldn't stay for an interrogation," Eula said indifferently before turning back into the cabin. Her cold voice echoed in the air, "Notify Avery to start the operation."
On the other side, Bella was in a state of constant fear after being taken by Lance. She tried to find an opportunity to escape. Her intuition told her that if she left with Lance, she would suffer greatly.
"Stop the car! Stop the car! I need to use the restroom," Bella shouted desperately.
However, Shannon and Nightingale, who were guarding her, acted as if they hadn't heard anything and remained indifferent.
Bella was very dissatisfied with this and began to struggle and make noise. "I said I need to use the restroom! Didn't you hear me? Stop the car!"
Just as she finished speaking, a cold light flashed before her eyes, and a sharp knife was suddenly held in front of her face.
