Chapter 106: Northern Pack Never Lose
~Kennedy POV~
Days passed peacefully but tense. The pack was filled with soldiers training for the unexpected. I walked into the huge meeting room and sat down coldly. I looked around with my cold eyes and saw all the important generals and commanders in the room with others with important positions, I nodded in satisfaction then I saw Jerry sitting in the middle.
"How is Derek?!" I asked coldly which froze the already frozen air.
They gulped and looked at one another then Dean stood up and bowed respectfully, "Alpha! He has been silently staying in the prison and doing fine but he wouldn't say a word no matter how we asked." he said and I narrowed my eyes and tapped my finger on the chair in deep thought.
I pulsed my lips then nodded, "Oh.." I said then looked around with piercing eyes, "How is it going?!" I asked sharply.
Dave stood up and walked to the front, "Alpha! We found out something very important and interesting! And this will be the turnover!" He said with excitement written on his face then when I nodded he smiled proudly, "Alpha! We found out that the power that we have always been trying to guess is owned by Alpha Richard is the Rogues pack! The one who had been causing us trouble! He is behind it all!" He said with excitement like he was ready to fight.
The crowd went silent and everyone looked stunned at his revelations. But it seems Dave was not done yet as he turned serious, "Also, we found out that some packs are in alliance with him and what he promised is something impossible-The Black Stone!"
I widened my eyes in shock then I looked at him in disbelief, "And they believe him?" I asked in confusion.
Dave shrugged and I couldn't help but laugh in anger. What the hell were these Alphas thinking?! They are dumb, so dumb that it makes me speechless how they became Alphas.
I rubbed my head tiredly then chuckled darkly, "Alpha Richard is smart, But also dumb. Well since we know his weakness, then plan. I would have attacked him, but I wish he would be the one to make the first move. I need him to be well-prepared! I don't fight with fools, I need him to be at the top of his game, and as for the Black stone?" I chuckled darkly, "He should keep dreaming!" I said then laughed.
After my laughter, I looked at my warriors who sat with their shoulders straight and I nodded seeing the improvement in them.
"You don't need to worry about not defeating them because we will! My Northern pack has never been the one to lose! So all you need to do is try your best!" I said then stood up to leave but before I left, I looked at Jerry for a while and then left.
I walked towards the house at a fast pace. Alina had been acting strangely these days which filled me with doubt. She had been staying home without going anywhere except she wanted to go to the hidden pack to see her parents. I hadn't been going to the hidden pack but I knew everything going on and unlike before when they didn't come outside, they have been coming out recently to meet with me.
To be honest, I had found out about Richard having a secret weapon, but I didn't just know what it was or who they were but I had prepared for it. I had made plans with Gemini and rest to stand and if anything happens they yet come forward to attack.
I walked into the house and the room but then I heard the sound of heaving which shocked me out of my thoughts. I ran towards where the sounds were coming from then saw Alina bent over and heaving in the bathhouse and on the ground was the lunch she had eaten. I frowned in distress and confusion, walked towards her in long strides then patted her back.
My heart was pained seeing her in pain and seeing her calm down, I poured some water on her head and washed her face myself then I took the towel to clean her face and hair.
She sat in front of the mirror looking pale and inactive. I didn't say a word but took the towel and dried her hair gently but then mistakenly tugged her hair. My hand stiffened as I slowly looked up and saw her through the mirror.
Her eyes were fierce as she looked at me and when she was about to say something, I threw down the towel and leaned down to capture her lips in mine.
"Fuck! I wouldn't take any more yelling. My heart can't take it or I will mentally break down! So I think this is the best way, shut her up!" I thought as I deepened the kissed
Alina had been pushing me away when I first kissed but then she relented and slowly accepted the kiss and then kissed me back.
"Mmmhm…" She moaned in my mouth and I couldn't help but indulge in this short time of intimacy.
Alina had been fussy lately, throwing tempers around and making me be on my toes. I didn't know what was wrong with her but then I thought it was all about this war that was about to happen. The tension must be what is going on and this filled me with distress.
My mate is worried about the pack but she wouldn't say a word about it and kept it in her heart. It seems it's taking a toll on her health instead which breaks my heart.
I kissed her all over her face and lovingly gazed into her eyes. "Do you need me to call the healers? I don't want to keep seeing you this way. It breaks my heart, mama…" I said and sighed when she rejected my offer again.
I pulsed my lips and then looked at her deeply, "Then can you stop worrying about the pack? We can take care of things. The Northern pack has never lost a fight and we wouldn't lose this one too. Trust me and believe in your man, alright? You being like this is what worries me more and not the tension." I said then kissed her eyes.
She looked at me speechlessly and chuckled. I smiled back at her though I didn't know why she was smiling. I loved this.
"Promise me you will be fine?"
