Chapter 15: For You

Samar came to his room and saw Avika on the balcony. He hugged her from behind.

"What are you doing, darling?"

"Nothing. Just thinking."

"Are you still disturbed after reading that news?"

"Samar, I think I can't be a good wife or daughter-in-law."

Her words made Samar shock. He didn't understand what she wanted to say. He turned her towards him.

"What happened to you? Did mom or dad say anything to you?"

"No, no. They both are treating me as their daughter. They never say anything to me."

"Then why are you talking like this?"

"Because in the morning, after reading that news I remembered my past and got disturbed. I think I can't get out of my past and be a good wife or daughter-in-law. I always disturb you and our family with my post incident trauma."

Samar smiled at her and gave her a side hug.

"Avika, you are a very good wife and daughter-in-law. We know that well. You are good at handling responsibilities. You love me and our family a lot. You take care of everyone. You will soon recover from the past. Don't worry. We all are there for you."

Avika looked at his eyes and suddenly kissed him on the cheek, surprising him.

"I love you. Please, never leave me whatever happens in our life and even if I do anything wrong unknowingly. Because I can't live without you," Avika said in one go while sobbing.

"I love you too. I will never leave you. You are my sweet wife. I too can't live without you," Samar kissed her.

She slept happily and peacefully in his arms. Samar felt happy to see her peaceful and happy always. Seven days passed by normally and she is ok again.

Avika slept and suddenly Samar woke her up.

"Avika, wake up. Please wake up."

Avika slowly opened her eyes and looked at him.

"Good morning," Samar said, disturbing her slumber.

"What is the time?"

"3 AM."

"So it's still night. Good night. I am sleeping," Avika said and tried to sleep again. She always loves to play like this with Samar.

"Avika, please listen to me. I am going to Chennai now for a contract. Wake up, please."

"What? Why are you saying suddenly about these trips now a days?? Wait, I am waking up," Avika said.

Avika got up and washed the face to avoid the sleep. She packed his luggage and, prepared food for him.

"I love you. I will call in the evening. Don't cry like a baby. Smile like my wife. Bye."

"Bye, take care."

Samar was about to start the car.

"Samar, one minute," Avika said.

"Yes, sweetheart. Tell me."

"All the best for your contract."

"Thank you. With your wishes, I will win in my work for sure."

Samar hugged her and placed a kiss on her forehead. He went off and Avika started missing him a lot. She didn't understand why he was going on sudden trips so frequently.

It has been two days but Samar didn't return yet. She missed Samar so much. She switched on the TV to watch the news. Suddenly she saw some news about Jashwesh's murder. She felt happy but at the same time an unknown fear occupied her. Somehow she managed to control herself and went to the room. She took a tablet prescribed by Akshara and rested for a while. When she woke up, she saw Samar beside her.

"How are you, sweetheart? Are you missing me?" Samar said, caressing her hairs.

"When did you arrive? I missed you so much," Avika said and hugged him.

"I arrived an hour ago."

"Why didn't you wake me up?"

"You are sleeping so peacefully. So I didn't feel to wake you up. Now tell me, how are you?"

"I am very happy today. Someone killed Jashwesh. After a long time, I felt peaceful again."

"That's what I want," Samar said.

"What?"

"I want to see you happy and peaceful."

Samar kissed Avika on the forehead.

"Did you get fresh up? What do you want to eat? I will prepare something for you. You might be hungry," Avika said.

"Take a breath, Avika. I had lunch on the way and now got fresh up too. Stop hurrying and sit with me. I miss you so much. Let's talk for a while."

They both chitchatted, and then Samar slept while talking. Avika went to the kitchen to complete dinner preparation. Samar woke up after a while.

"Avika, please prepare dinner quickly. I am damn hungry," Samar said. Avika looked at him differently. Samar went to her and cupped her face.

"Are you fine?"

"Yes. Dinner is ready. If you come to the dining hall, I will serve dinner to you."

Samar tried to ask her the reason but she went off from there without giving a chance. After dinner, Avika came to the room "Samar, I want to talk to you," Avika said.

"Yes, Avika. Tell me. I have told you many times that you no need to take the permission. You can talk to me at any time about anything."

"Where did you go for your business contract?"

"Chennai."

"Then how did the ticket to Simla came into your pocket?"

"Avika, it's...."

"Why are you lying to me, Samar? What are you hiding from me?"

"Avika, trust me. I never betray you. That's what I can say for now."

"I am not doubting you, Samar. But I don't want you to do anything wrong for me. Please try to understand. I can't live without you."

Avika hugged Samar tightly weeping. Samar hugged her and tried to console her.

"What do you mean by doing wrong, Avika?"

"I read in the news that Jashwesh was murdered in Simla. You too went to Simla. I hope it's not you who murdered them."

"Hey Avika, why will I do that? No, I went to Simla as venue changed by the other party of the contract. But I didn't kill Jashwesh. Trust me."

"I trust you. I really trust you completely."

"I am sorry, Avika. For the first time, I broke your trust. But I love you. It's husband's duty to heal the wounds of wife completely with love and fulfilling her remained revenge. It's my responsibility to protect you from every danger and assure you safety. I am doing everything just for you. Hope you will not lose trust in me when the truth comes out."

Samar thought and kissed Avika.

"You are lying to me, Samar. I can understand that by the way you said that to me. You don't know to lie. But I know you will say the truth to me when the right time comes. I trust you now and forever. I love you. I know that you are lying to me as you don't want me to get stressed and tensed. You are taking a big risk for my happiness and safety. I can never misunderstand you."

Avika thought looking at Samar. They both slept with unknown pain and fear in their hearts.

The next day is my Avika's birthday. Samar planned a lot for her but everything is a surprise to her. Until the evening, he decided not to reveal the plans about her birthday. He wanted to enjoy her anger for forgetting her special day.

In the morning, Avika woke up and got ready. Everyone pretended as if they are unaware of her birthday. She didn't say anything. She completed the prayer to her favorite goddess and took blessings from her in-laws. She went to Samar.

"Samar, can you take me to the temple today?"

"Ok but is anything special today?"

"Nothing. I just want to go to the temple."

I took her to the temple and dropped her at the home. I went to the office.

Avika remembered how her parents used to celebrate her birthday in the past. She thought that Samar doesn't know her birthday. However, she wanted to spend time with Samar and went to his office, packing a lunch for them. She heard Samar's shouting at his staff.

"I want it to be done right now. No more explanations. Do it now."

"Do it or leave the job."

Avika was scared of his shouting. He never shouted at me in that pitch anytime. She is new to this type of Samar. She heard from the staff that Samar is a serious person. But as far as she knows, he is a sweet, loving, and jovial person. She stood at the door hesitating to knock on the door. Finally, she knocked on the door.

"Who's that?"

Samar shouted again. Avika cursed herself for coming at a wrong time. Someone opened the door. Samar looked at me.

"Avika? Come in. You are my wife. No need to knock on the door," Samar said with a smile comforting her. She went inside his cabin.

"You all can go to your cabins. Complete it on time."

His staff went off. Samar asked Avika to take the seat. She sat there but didn't dare to talk thinking that he is in anger. He came to me and sat beside me cupping my face.

"Are you ok? What happened to you?? Why are you looking scared?"

He asked with concern and worry in his voice.

"I-I am okay."

"Why are you in tension?"

"Why are you shouting at your staff? Is anything wrong?"

"Are you scared of my shouting? I am sorry. Actually I didn't notice you coming here. Now leave all those and please smile for me. Anyways it's just a small work tension."

Avika looking at him.

"Now tell me what is this pleasant surprise? Why did you visit me?"

"I brought lunch for you."

"What? Why can't you send it with the driver?"

"I want to have lunch with you. So I brought it."

"Ok, then I am already hungry. We shall have it fast."

Avika had lunch with him. She wanted to spend the whole day with him but didn't to disturb his work.

"I will go to the home now," Avika said.

"If you wait for an hour, we can go together after I finish off my work. Is that ok with you?"

Avika felt happy with his words. She immediately nodded and after one hour they both started to the home. But Samar took her to the shopping.

"Why did we come here?"

"For shopping. I want to buy something for my lovely wife. Come let's go inside."

"But in this month, I did shopping twice. Now it's not necessary."

"That's your shopping. This is mine. Come on, darling."

Avika went inside the mall with him.

"Show me sarees which looks simple but dignified."

He selected a sari and necklace for me. Then they started from there.

In the starting Samar bought heavy embroidery sarees and heavy jewelry. She didn't say anything and wore them. But later on Samar realized that she likes to be simple. So now he selected what she likes.

By that time, everything is ready at home to surprise her. Samar sent an event organizer to decorate the house and make arrangements for the birthday. Samar planned one more surprise for her birthday. He decided to announce her as the MD for the new wing of their company which deals with cosmetics.

They reached home and Avika was surprised to see the decorations. As soon as she entered inside the house, rose petals were showered at her. She looked at Samar, then the walls where it's decorated with balloons and written "Happy Birthday, Avika".

"Do you know my birthday?"

"Yes, I know every small thing about you. I never forget anything that's related to you. Because I love you."

"Samar and Avika, go and get ready. Guests came already," Garima said.

They both went upstairs to get ready.

Avika felt happy and thought of expressing her dream to start a new company to Samar. While she was in her thoughts, Samar hugged her from the behind and a smile escaped from her lips with his touch.

"You are gorgeous, angel. Wish you Happy Birthday."

"Thank you."

Samar kissed her on the cheek making her blushed.

"Let's go downstairs."

Samar held her hand and kissed it again and then they went downstairs together.
