I sat with my head in my hands not understanding what the fuck was going on now. My father was the one that said “One more scandal and we might as well close our doors. I hoped that if you are in a solid marriage that that would put the board at ease and that the stock prices will rise again but if you go into the company already with something hanging over you, we might as well just close our doors.” I looked at my dad and then at Mr. Wayne. “Why give me your financials?” “I was hoping you’ll take over from me and not your dad, but I don’t want any scandals and unfortunately Jojo is a scandal I do not want to end where your father is.” Fuck everyone here is just for themselves none of them worry about Jojo. “Well dad let the company go Jojo and I will be fine on our own.” My mother got up walked towards me and without me even expecting it she hit me through the face. “Are you fucking crazy throwing out legacy away for that slut.” I got up grabbed my mother’s hand and pushed her back in her seat, my father didn’t do a thing, clearly, they can see I’ve grown up and won’t stand for their abuse anymore. “Do not call her a slut ever again do you understand me?” I asked my mom. My dad started to speak again “Please Benjamin you are our only hope; you need to bring us back from the dead.” There were actual tears in my father’s eyes. “So, because you fucked up, I need to suffer for the rest of my life, Jojo was my soul mate.” “You’ll find another.” My father said like it was nothing. “No dad I won’t fine another Jojo.” “But do you understand why you can’t marry her or take the child as your own.” My father said. “I thought the board will see that I take responsibility.” “Not for someone else’s problems Benjamin.”
I looked at Jojo’s parents, “I don’t understand why you still wanted me to marry her if you already cut ties with us professionally.” “Well Benjamin we are people of our words we promised your mother and father you can marry our daughter if she stays a virgin.
