The next day I get Kiera ready for school. I pack her bag and put it next to the front door. I make lunch for myself. Kiera is sitting in front of the TV watching Sesame Street. She sings along to something on the TV. I finish packing my stuff. I walk over to the front door and take my keys off the hook. "Let's go, Keira. I don't want to be late for work." Keira turns off the TV and she puts be backpack on. I lock the front door and make my way to the car. I walk into the day-care with Kiera. Rebecca one of the teachers walks over. She kneels at Kiera's height. "Hello, Kiera." "Hi," she says. She looks around the room and sees her friends at the dollhouse. "Mommy, I'm going over to my friends." I put her bag into the locker. She walks over to her friends that are at the dollhouse. I walk over to her. "I need to go, Kiera. I will be back later." I kiss her cheek. "Bye." She hugs and kisses me. "Bye, Mommy." She goes back to playing with her friends. I walk to the door and turn towards her before I open it. Kiera waves at me. I wave at her and exit the day-care. I climb into the car. I walk into the Day Corporation. Day Corporation is a newspaper firm that delivers daily reports to the people of Miami. I am a news reporter for this company. I have had a number of stories published and I even won an award for one of the reports that were based on a sweet old couple that had been together for 90 years. They grew up together and started dating at sixteen. By the time she was eighteen, she was married and pregnant with her first child. The sweet old couple had eight children. Six boys and two girls. She had her hands full with that lot. They had twenty Grandchildren. Fifteen Great Grandchildren and three Great Great Grandchildren. A couple of months after that interview they died. I heard she went first and then he followed her. Now, that's true love. I press the button for the twelfth floor. Marley walks into the lift and she looks at me. "Hey, Juliet. Are you looking forward to the meeting this morning?" I shake my head. "Not really. Who do you think Mr Sanders is going to choose to attend the conference that Hayden Knowles is having?" She shrugs. "I have no idea, but whoever it is will be envied by everyone upstairs." She pulls the strap of her handbag up her arm and places it on her shoulder. The door opens on the twelfth floor and I step out of the lift. I walk over to my desk and put my things in the draw. Mr Sanders walks out of his office. "Meeting in fifteen minutes. I will see you all in the conference room." He looks at the woman next to me. "Joyce, is everything set up in the conference room for a meeting?" She nods. "Yes, Sir." "Good, I want you to answer the phone while we're having the meeting. Janet will be here shortly to help you out." My phone starts to ring and I answer it. Me: Hello, this is Juliet. Voice: Juliet its Davis. Can I stay at your for a couple of weeks? Me: Sure, when are you coming to Miami? Davis: I will be there tomorrow. I hope it's not too short of a notice for you. It's perfect timing. I'm looking forward to seeing my Big Brother again. It's been a year since he came to Miami. Me: It's good timing actually. What time will you be landing in Miami? Davis: I will be there about three. Can you pick me up? Me: I will have to clear it with the boss. I will give you a call later. Did you hear that Hayden's in town? Davis: I didn't know that. Do you want me to kick his ass? Me: Nah, I can deal with him. Why are coming to Miami? Davis: I put in for a transfer recently. I wanted to be closer to you. Me: What did Mom and Dad say after they found out you were moving here? Davis: Mom wasn't impressed. She did say that if you told her who the father of Kiera is she will visit more often. Me: Mom hates Miami. She told me that when I first moved here. Davis: She's going to have to get over it as her kids are living in the same place now. Me: I can't wait to see you, big brother. I have to go, the boss is holding a meeting this morning of who the lucky reporter is that will be seeing, Hayden. Fingers crossed it's not me that's going to be stuck at the conference and then to interview him afterwards. Davis: I will pray that it's not going to be you. Me: Thanks, bro. I hang up the phone. Janet looks at me. "I didn't know you had a brother, Juliet." There's a lot of things you don't need to know about me. We work together and that's about it. I collect my things and I make my way to the conference. I walk into the room and the only seat available is next to Mr Sanders. This isn't go to end well for me. I take the seat next to Mr Sanders. When it comes to meetings the reporters walk into the conference room early to avoid sitting in the seat next to him. The person that sits next to him is chosen to do assignments that no one wants to do. Looks like I will be the one sent on a horrible assignment this time. I hope I don't have to deal with anyone rude like the last assignment I was sent on. Mr Sanders enters the room and he pours himself a coffee before he sits next to me. He looks around the room. "Good morning, everyone. Today I will be giving you your assignments for the next week. First I want to talk about Hayden Knowles being in town for a conference." I groan. Mr Sanders looks at me. "Is there a problem?" I shake my head. "No, Sir." He smiles. "Good, I want you to cover the conference. At the end I want you to interview him. Find out if he has a serious girlfriend. Dig up whatever you can about his past and post it in the paper. I want to take the newspaper in a new direction." "Sir, if you want to do all that. You should put out your own magazine called 'Day Magazine.' Then we can write whatever we want in it. Day Corporation is a newspaper we report on facts not b/s." He turns to me. "Go to the conference and take notes. Here are a few interview questions you need to ask. The conference is on Wednesday. You have two days to write questions that you want to know." Marley says. "Ask him if he will sleep with you if he had the opportunity." Of course, he would. He's been there, done that and my daughter is proof of that.
