Chapter 70 | A New Life | Mixed POV
One year later.
The Obsidian Moon Academy has completely changed. The reforms are fully in place, and you can see the results everywhere—in every classroom, every dorm room, every hallway. Students from all bloodlines study together, learn together, and grow together. The old divisions are disappearing, replaced by a new understanding—that a person's worth comes from who they are, not where they come from.
Leah stands at the podium in the newly renamed Progenitor Hall, speaking to the graduating class of the first fully integrated year. Her silver veins glow softly under her skin, her posture confident and strong. She is truly the Progenitor's heir now, not just in name—a leader, a symbol, a force for good.
Beside her, Kael watches with quiet pride. He's fully recovered from the nullifier's effects, his power restored, his position as Senior Adjudicator secure. But he's changed too—gentler, warmer, more open. Being a father suits him.
In the front row, Ivy and Kieran sit together, holding hands. Their wedding is next month—a small ceremony, intimate, exactly what they want.
And on Kael's lap, Ophelia squirms around, her ice-blue eyes wide with curiosity, her silver-streaked hair catching the light. She's a year old now, walking, speaking in simple sentences, her bloodline abilities already starting to show.
"She's going to be powerful," Kael whispers to Leah during a break in the ceremony.
"She's going to be loved," Leah corrects him. "That's what matters."
After the ceremony, they walk through the academy's gardens. The bloodroses are in full bloom, their petals silver in the afternoon light. Ophelia toddles between them, holding both their hands, her laughter bright and joyful.
"Do you ever regret it?" Leah asks. "Choosing me? Giving up everything for this life?"
Kael stops, kneeling down to look her in the eyes. "I gave up nothing. I gained everything." He takes her hand, his fingers warm and strong. "Leah, you are my everything. Our daughter is my everything. This life—this messy, complicated, beautiful life—is more than I ever dreamed possible."
Leah smiles, her honey-brown eyes bright with love. "Then let's keep dreaming. Together."
"Together."
Ophelia tugs at their hands, impatient to keep exploring. They laugh and walk on, a family under the afternoon sun.
The story that began with a bloodrose and a bet has become something greater. A love story. A revolution. A new world.
And like all good stories, it doesn't end.
It continues.
In every choice made for love over fear. In every barrier broken, every prejudice overcome. In every child born into a world better than the one before.
The Progenitor's heir and her Prince. The Nullblood who became a Queen. The ancient warrior who learned to love.
Together.
Forever.
And they lived happily ever after.
Not because their struggles ended. But because they faced every struggle together.
