Chapter 25

Rosalina's Point of View

I woke up from the sound of my alarm. I was confused for a moment at where I was, but then the memory of what happened the day before came to me. Yesterday had been a very long day. Kelly was lying in bed next to me. We had stayed up late watching movies. I wondered if Kane was back from work. He didn't come back before I went to sleep. I got out of the king size bed and went to the bathroom to get ready for the day. Kelly had brought me two changes of clothes last night, so I had an outfit to put on for the day.

Once I was finished showering, I put on the green sundress that Kelly had brought for me and walked out of the bathroom. Kelly was still sleeping peacefully when I came out of the bathroom. I was wondering if I should wake her up. Then, I remembered she said she wanted to make it to school in time since it was the last year, so I decided I should.

"Kelly, it's time to get ready for school," I said, and she put the covers over her head before sitting up on the bed. "School. I can't wait until it's over," Kelly said, and I laughed. She really didn't like getting up early. "I am going to go to my room to get ready, and then I will be back," Kelly said

"Okay," I replied, and Kelly got up and left the room. I got my books together and walked out of the room. I wondered if Kane was in there, but as soon as I walked down the steps, I saw that he was talking to two other men. I was shocked that he was already dressed and ready to go because I knew he had spent the night working.

"Good morning, Rose," Kane said

"Morning," I replied

"Okay, guys. That is it for now," Kane said, and the two men left

"I am shocked you are ready to go. You were up all night," I said

"Yeah, I wanted to make sure you got to school on time. I know how important it is to you to get there on time," Kane replied

"You didn't have to get up so early for me," I said

"Nonsense. You are important to me. I want to make sure you are okay. Now let's go to the kitchen and eat," Kane replied

I could smell something delicious in the kitchen. "Did you cook?" I asked

"No, I am not the best cook. I had one of the maids make this for us," Kane replied

"Kane and I walked into the kitchen and got our plates before heading to the dining room. "So, how was your night? I know you and Kelly watched movies all night," Kane asked

"Yeah, it was good. Kelly is a great person. I like spending time with her," I replied

"Yeah, she is a good person. How about me? Do you think I am a good person as well?" Kane asked

"Of course, I think you are a good person," I replied. Kane and I started to eat, and Kelly came back to the suite soon after and ate some food as well. Once we were finished, we all made our way to the door to leave.

"I am riding with you today," Kelly said

"Okay," Kane replied, and we made our way to his car. I was about to get in the back seat when Kelly spoke. "You don't have to sit in the backseat, Lina. I will sit there," Kelly said

"I don't mind," I replied

"I insist. Kane would rather you sit beside him anyway," Kelly said

"Um, okay," I replied and got in the passenger's seat.

"Do you know how to drive, Lina?" Kelly asked

"No, I haven't gotten a chance to practice," I replied.

"Do you have your permit?" Kane asked

"No," I replied

"Do you want to drive?" Kelly asked

"Yeah, I went up to the DMV to get my driver's license, but they told me my mom needed to be with me since I am not eighteen yet," I said

"Your mom wouldn't go up there with you?" Kane asked

"She has been very busy," I replied. I had asked my mom to go up there with me, but she said she had more important things to do than take me to the DMV. She said I would most likely fail it anyway

"I will take you up there today after school. Have you read the book?" Kane asked

"Yeah," I replied. I pretty much knew the book by heart.

"Good, after you pass, I will start teaching you how to drive," Kane said

"You don't have to do that," I said

"I want to," Kane replied

"Well, okay. If you don't mind, thanks," I replied. I was so happy that Kane wanted to help me get my license. He had been doing so much for me in the little time that I had known him. Way more than my mom had. I didn't understand why he was so nice to me. It was like he really cared about me. He did say he loved me. Maybe he wasn't lying.

The first half of school went by quickly and soon it was time for lunch. Kane, Kelly, and I were walking to the cafeteria when his cell went off. Kane took his phone out of his pocket and answered it. "Hello," Kane said, and then he was silent for a moment. "Okay, I will be there soon," Kane said, and then he ended the call.

"There is something I need to take care of. I will be here to pick the two of you up after school," Kane said

"Okay," I replied. Kane shocked me by hugging me and then kissing the top of my head before he looked at Kelly. They didn't say anything, but it seemed like they were having a conversation with their eyes. Kane left and Kelly and I headed to the gym

"Is everything okay with Kane?" I asked as we walked to the girls' locker room

"Yeah, just some issues at work he has to take care of. Everything will be fine," Kelly said.

"When we got to the locker room everyone became quiet, and their eyes were on me.
