enemy in the Blanket

"Aunt Rose!" Kenzie cried loudly. The little boy struggled from the officer's arms until they were forced to lower Kenzie from the sling. The handsome boy ran quickly into Rose's arms. Rose and Kenzie cried loudly, moving the hearts of everyone who saw it. Rose tightened her grip on Kenzie tightly. She kissed the boy's forehead and cheeks full of love and guilt. "Aunt Rose, Kenzie is scared," the boy said between sobs. "Aunt here, honey, Aunt here." "Let's go home, Aunt. There are so many of them, we have to save Grandpa too," Kenzie whispered timidly as he stared at the uniformed crowd. "Oh, Kenzie." Rose sighed sadly. "Your time is up, Miss." An officer walked up to them. Rose stared sadly while still holding the boy tightly. The ten minutes they gave seemed like seconds. Can never quench thirst. "I will not give my son to you." Rose stood up with her arms tightened. "Miss, don't get in the way of the officers." "Don't you guys have a conscience? Look at this child, we love each other and I'm willing to do anything for his happiness." Rose defended her opinion. She stepped back slowly, avoiding the officers walking toward him. Rose glanced in the direction of the exit that she found very impenetrable. "Rose give the child to them, don't do anything that will harm you." Sebastian approached Rose. "I just want him to go with me." Rose confirmed her will. "Kenzie wants to go home with Aunt Rose. Kenzie doesn't want to be here." The almost five year old boy was crying loudly. Kenzie's sad cry made Rose's chest feel like it was being stabbed. He turned his gaze to each of the flat-faced people surrounding him. "Please, let this child be with me," she pleaded. Rose hoped that everyone there would touch her heart and let her take Kenzie home. It is inconceivable if the child was left alone with a stranger. "Let go of the boy, miss, or we'll arrest you too on charges of obstructing the officers at work and maybe we'll have to report you, even if officer Sebastian is with you." The officer's firm words made Rose even more confused. The girl looked expectantly at Sebastian, pleading with a pitiful expression on her face. She hoped the man would take action to help her. "Rose, let Kenzie be with them. You have to solve each problem one by one. Don't act out of line." Sebastian reached out his hand towards Rose. The girl stared at Sebastian's outstretched hand. She couldn't think straight. Sebastian's words sounded like a way out, though in fact Rose was rebelling. Just as she was caught off guard, an officer pulled Kenzie's body from Rose's arms. They lifted the little boy from behind with all their might, so that the grip of the tiny hand slipped from Rose's clothes. "Aunt Rose!" the boy screamed hysterically. "Kenzie! Don't take my Kenzie!" cried Rose pitifully. Rose was about to pick up Kenzie, but a pair of strong arms held her back. Rose rebelled from Sebastian's embrace which was wrapped around her stomach. The girl's hand reached toward the officer taking Kenzie away. "Don't take my Kenzie away!" shouted Rose in a hoarse voice and the tears wouldn't subside. "Rose, trust me I will help you," Sebastian whispered softly in the girl's ear. "He has to go home, Sebastian. Come with me. He must be scared right now." Rose gripped Sebastian's shoulder. The beautiful girl's pale and weak face, wet with tears, looked up at Sebastian. Rose's innocent and hopeful eyes turned to the police officer. "I'll do my best for you, Rose." Sebastian's big fingers brushed the tears off Rose's face. Rose obediently followed Sebastian's lead who led her out of the child welfare social service office. The woman with all the burden and sadness, sat back down beside the car with the license plate number. "I'll take you home, you should rest," Sebastian said in the middle of the oncoming vehicle. Rose didn't answer. She was still stunned and kept on ringing Kenzie's loud cries. In her mind at this moment the face of a small boy with a suppressed face was roaring, crying loudly. "Daddy… I have to see my daddy." Rose looked at Sebastian desperately. "You want to see how your daddy is?" Rose nodded in response to Sebastian's question. He could see the man was glancing at the clock that was wrapped around the blond hand. There was a slight realization in Rose's mind that he was interrupting the fine police working hours, but Rose didn't care. "Please take me to the immigration office, the center for handling foreign nationals." Rose begged. "Or if you're busy, leave me there." "Rose… I'll accompany you, maybe there's something I can do." Sebastian reached out his hand to grasp the woman's small and cold hand. Rose spontaneously pulled her hand away from Sebastian's touch. Shee leaned back against the car seat and looked down at the road languidly. The girl didn't care how many times Sebastian glanced at her. She's not the kind of girl who likes to get pity stares. They arrived at the immigration office with the same result. Not much different from her meeting with Kenzie, Rose did not manage to bring Romeo home. The existence of Sebastian was not able to help much. The man was limited in his movements as a civilian police officer. Rose came out with unsteady steps, the woman's body went limp when she saw Romeo's condition behind bars like a bad person. No matter how much Rose tried to convince the officers that Romeo was legally an American citizen, it was all in vain. "How can I prove, even if the statements stored in the state file are doubted. What should I do?" The questions he had asked did not get many answers. Rose had to prove Romeo's eligibility to become an American citizen, while the old man had no special skills other than Spanish. She also does not have the money to be able to help him with Romeo's case, other than relying on state aid agencies. "Rose, I'm going to talk to a friend of mine who works as a government defender." Sebastian seemed to be trying to calm Rose's heart. "They can't deport my daddy, Sebastian. He's old and doesn't have anyone in Mexico." "I see, Rose. I also don't understand why they suddenly had to carry out inspections of your apartment area and only you were affected." Sebastian looked at Rose probingly. "Do you have an enemy who is deliberately cornering you?" Sebastian's question hit Rose's consciousness. "Robert …." She hissed furiously.
