Chapter 50 Chapter 17.2
Heaven was watching Desmond as he cooked their dinner. She smiled while staring at his back. When Desmond turned around, he caught Heaven looking at him.
“Do I look tasty?” Desmond asked. Heaven’s smile immediately disappeared and she turned her gaze away.
“So… do you think we can have sex now? You’re seven months pregnant,” Desmond asked with a teasing smile. Heaven’s cheeks flushed because of how straightforward he was.
“Why are you asking me? I’m not a doctor to answer that,” Heaven replied.
“In that case, I’ll just ask your doctor. When’s your next check-up?” Heaven let out a sigh. Was Desmond really serious?
When the food started boiling, Desmond returned to taste it. He scooped some onto a spoon and brought it to Heaven.
“Try it and see if it tastes okay,” he said. Heaven tasted it, and Desmond couldn’t help staring at her soft, reddish lips. He couldn’t resist anymore and kissed her. Heaven kissed him back.
But when Heaven noticed their kiss deepening, she gently pushed him away.
“We’re still in the kitchen,” she whispered softly.
“No one’s going to see us. We’re the only ones in the house,” Desmond replied, pulling her into another kiss. Heaven wrapped her arms around his neck as they continued kissing. Desmond’s lips moved down to her neck, but since he was tall, he had to bend his knees slightly.
Desmond lifted Heaven and sat her on the table. They continued kissing, the sound of their lips filling the room. One of Desmond’s hands slipped inside Heaven’s dress. Heaven couldn’t stop herself from moaning softly as he played with her sensitive spot. She held onto Desmond’s hair, steadying herself since they were only on the table.
“Desmond…” she whispered. Desmond brought his lips back to hers, their kiss growing deeper. But still, Desmond stopped himself from doing what he wanted. He didn’t want anything to happen that might affect their baby. Even if Heaven agreed, he wouldn’t do it. He would control himself for as long as he could.
When they were both exhausted, they finally stopped. Desmond helped Heaven off the table.
“Do you not want me?” Heaven asked. Desmond laughed slightly and flicked her forehead.
“It’s not that. You’re pregnant, Heaven. I don’t want your OB to scold me for doing something to you. I can wait. Don’t be naughty.” Heaven only pouted.
Desmond served their food and they started eating.
“By the way, I’m bringing you to the company anniversary next week. Do you want to have a custom-made dress or gown so you’ll be comfortable?” Heaven looked at her husband, processing what he said. But Desmond was completely serious.
“You’re taking me to the company anniversary? Isn’t everyone attending part of your well-known family? What if they ask about me?” she asked anxiously. She understood if Desmond didn’t want the public to know about her. She had nothing to boast of, she came from a poor family.
“I’m bringing you because I want them to know you’re my wife. I also want to announce that we’re expecting a child.” Heaven didn’t know if she should be happy or nervous. If the media found out about them, her family’s humble life would end up in the news.
“You deserve to be known. I have no intention of hiding you forever, especially our child. Daryl will be the next heir of our family, and I’m proud to introduce both of you.”
“Are you sure? What if Macie finds out about this?” Desmond’s expression suddenly turned serious. Heaven looked away after mentioning Macie’s name. She felt Desmond was still affected whenever he heard it.
“She already knows about us. She doesn’t need to be surprised.” Heaven just smiled faintly.
When they went up to their room, Desmond took the manzanilla oil he used to massage Heaven. Heaven watched him quietly. The company anniversary was next week, and she couldn’t help but feel nervous.
She never expected Desmond would bring her. She thought only people in higher positions could attend. She didn’t expect he would introduce her as his wife.
Desmond hired a designer for Heaven’s gown. They took her measurements immediately.
“Make sure she’ll be comfortable, especially her belly,” Desmond instructed.
“Yes sir, don’t worry,” the designer replied. After finishing, they left.
“Do you already have something to wear?” Heaven asked.
“I already do, don’t worry about it,” Desmond said. Heaven simply nodded.
After a few days, Heaven’s gown was finished. When it arrived, she tried it on immediately. Desmond helped her change, since even though the designers were gay, they were still men.
Heaven looked at herself in the big mirror. She smiled, the gown hugged her body perfectly, and it looked beautiful on her even with her pregnancy.
“Are you comfortable? Is your belly not being squeezed?” Desmond asked.
“It’s fine. I like it,” Heaven answered, making Desmond smile.
