Chapter 68: 68. Thinking Out Loud

~ Audrey ~

“You’re what?”

Audrey had said it out loud and clear. The brothers heard exactly what she said. But they couldn’t believe it. Caspian thought she must be joking and Killian’s mind went into overdrive. Killian saw the row of pregnancy sticks on the ground and he bent down to pick up one of them. The word ‘positive’ was displayed on the screen.

“Is this for real?” Killian asked.

No, it’s a prank. Ha-ha.

Audrey wished she could say that, but no. She just sighed and sat back down. Her hands went to cover her face.

“I took five pregnancy tests,” she said with her hands covering her mouth. “I drank three cans of Arizona ice tea so I could pee five times on a stick. And it all came back positive,”

Audrey remembered the first time she peed on one of the sticks and it came back positive. She didn’t know what to do. Her entire body was shaking. Olivia came in to check on her after she didn’t come back. When she saw the pregnancy result, Olivia almost passed out too. But then they thought it could be a false positive. So they grabbed a few more boxes and Audrey peed on every one of them. Olivia even peed on one just to make sure those weren’t a toy.

And yes. Those are not toys.

“Aren’t you on the pill?” Caspian asked.

“Not since I started living with you guys,” she admitted. “Also, my period is late and I’ve been feeling nauseous the whole day,”

Truthfully, Audrey had been feeling a bit off for the past week. She was always tired and anxious. But she thought it was due to the stress of talking to her dad.

“Wait, so you’re really… pregnant?” Caspian asked again.

Killian let out a long sigh because he already knew the answer to that.

“I’m really pregnant,” Audrey stated again. “And the father could be either one of you,”

Killian and Caspian exchanged a look.

“Who?” they said in unison.

“I wouldn’t know,” Audrey shook her head. “I mean we all did it… pretty regularly,”

Caspian raked his hair in frustration and Killian let out another sigh. Audrey watched their expressions and it didn’t make her feel any better. Sure, she wasn’t expecting them to jump up and down in excitement. But the fact that they were treating this as just another problem somewhat hurt.

“Shit,” Caspian muttered.

“What are we gonna do?” Killian asked.

“We can’t be doing this right now,” Caspian replied.

“We have to figure this out before we do anything else,” Killian said.

Audrey watched in silence as the brothers began discussing their future. Caspian was clearly stressed out and Killian was on edge. They stopped talking for a moment and Caspian shot Killian a look.

“I think there’s only one solution out of this,” he said. Killian and Audrey waited patiently for him to continue.

“We have to get rid of it,” Caspian said point-blankly.

“What?” Audrey gasped.

“Cas,” Killian scolded. He saw the horrified look on Audrey’s face and Killian knew that was too fast too soon.

“I’m serious,” Caspian replied. “None of us are ready for that shit,”

That shit?

“Cas, it’s a baby,” Killian warned.

“You have no problem getting rid of a grown man,”

“That’s not the same thing,”

“What’s the difference? They’re both are gonna cause problems,”

Caspian’s words cut through her like a knife. Audrey couldn’t help the tears from falling down her face. Sure, this pregnancy was unplanned, but Audrey didn’t think of it as a problem to be erased. A small part of her was actually happy. And if she was afraid to let it show before, she was more afraid now.

“Cas, shut your fúcking mouth,” Killian said threateningly. He saw how Caspian’s words affected Audrey and he hated it.

“Don’t be such a hypocrite, Kill,” Caspian scoffed. “You know that’s what’s on your mind too. You just don’t wanna say it out loud,”

Audrey shot Killian a look. She wanted to know if that was what Killian wanted to.

Do both of them want this baby gone?

“No, that’s not what I think,” Killian said as if to answer her.

“Then what do you think we should do?” Caspian challenged.

“I think we should keep the baby,” he said.

“You want us to raise a fúcking kid?” Caspian’s eyes widened in shock.

Killian put a hand on Audrey’s shoulder and squeezed it gently. He was comforting her. “You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to, Cas. Audrey and I can do it on our own,” he said.

Caspian scoffed and shook his head. “You don’t even know if it’s yours,”

Audrey felt another pang in her chest. This baby could either be Caspian’s or Killian’s. As much as she didn’t want to admit it, Caspian was right. This baby would cause problems in the future. What would happen to her if she has a baby? What would her father think? What would the world think? And what would become of this baby? Will it ever know their dad? Will it ever be accepted?

Audrey’s mind was running with questions that she had no answers to. She began sobbing even more and it made Killian angrier.

“Cas,” he hissed.

“What?” Caspian replied.

“You really need to learn how to shut your mouth,”

“Yeah?” Caspian taunted. “Are you gonna teach me?”

Killian got up to his feet immediately. Caspian took a step closer and now the brothers were holding a staring contest. They were standing at an arm’s length away and their hands were curled into fists. The tension in the air was blinding. A fight could break out at any moment. Audrey looked up and saw the fire in both their eyes. She remembered the last time the brothers fought like this, they pulled a gun and almost killed each other.

“Guys, stop!” Audrey shouted and stood up. She hated seeing them fight. She never wanted it to go this way. “Please don’t do this… not again… not now…”

Audrey’s voice was breaking as she pleaded. Her breathing was labored and her knees were shaking. Killian turned to her with worry in his eyes and Caspian immediately felt guilty.

“I’m sorry, love,” Killian cooed and pulled her into a hug. “We didn’t mean to upset you. We’re just talking,”

“I shouldn’t have said those things,” Caspian followed. He took a deep breath and raked his hair. “I’m just really… caught off guard,”

Audrey was relieved that the brothers stopped fighting. But maybe it was her emotions running wild or maybe her hormones or something, but she couldn’t stop crying. She buried her face deep into Killian’s chest and he held her tightly.

“Ssh, it’s okay,” Killian whispered in her ears.

Killian then glared daggers at Caspian as if to say, look what you did, dumbass.

“I’m sorry,” Caspian muttered lowly.

He then stepped closer and pulled Audrey from the back. Killian loosened his grip and let Caspian turned Audrey’s body to him. She was still quiet and she was looking down. Caspian sighed and put his arms around her. Audrey broke down in tears again as Caspian hugged her tight.

“I’m so sorry, baby girl,” he murmured into her ears. “I didn’t mean what I said,”

It took Audrey a few more minutes of sobbing incessantly before she stopped crying. Caspian’s hand was rubbing her back and Killian was stroking her hair soothingly. Audrey had stopped crying, but she remained quiet. Her face was still glued to Caspian’s chest.

“Hey, are you okay?” Caspian asked as he peeled her face from his tear-drenched shirt.

“Sweetheart, please say something,” Killian said.

“I don’t know what to say...” Audrey croaked. “And I don’t know what to do…”

“Hey, it’s okay,” Killian said reassuringly. He cupped her cheek and pulled her face to him. “We don’t have to know all the answers right now,” he said with a smile.

“Yeah. We’ll figure this out in time,” Caspian added. “I promise,”

“…And you two won’t fight?” Audrey asked cautiously.

“No, we won’t fight,” Caspian promised.

“No matter what happens, we’ll do this together,” Killian shot a look at his brother. “We’re a team, right?”

“Damn right,” Caspian nodded.

Audrey let out a breath of relief. She saw the look on Killian and Caspian’s faces, and she knew they weren’t lying.

“Come on, it’s late,” Killian said as he led her away. “Let’s get you to bed,”

Audrey couldn’t get a wink of sleep that night. She was exhausted and feeling sick, but her mind refused to rest. She lay in bed wide awake with Killian and Caspian next to her. They were both fast asleep. Killian’s hand was linked around her stomach and Caspian’s face was buried on the crook of her neck.

Audrey stared down at her stomach and wondered about the little thing growing inside her. If she thought her life was crazy before, it was about to get even more chaotic now. Not only that she was still technically Anthony’s fiancée, but she was also going to have a baby with someone else. Who exactly? Audrey couldn’t tell.

Audrey wondered if she should get a DNA test before they figure out the next step. Killian and Caspian had very different views on how to proceed. Maybe if they could determine the father of the baby, it would be easier to make a decision.

Maybe it’s Killian’s…

Audrey remembered having a lot of sex with Killian and how he liked to cúm inside her. Caspian would sometimes cúm in her other hole or in her mouth, but Killian always liked cumming into her pússy the most. If she were to judge by numbers and probability, there was a higher chance that Killian was the father.

If the baby was Killian’s, he might want to keep it. Audrey thought about Killian being a father and she couldn’t help but smile. Killian would be an amazing father. He was responsible and reliable. Any baby would be lucky to have him as a dad.

But maybe it’s Caspian’s…

Audrey then remembered the first night she had sex again with the brothers. They put both of their lengths into her core all at once and they came almost at the same time. There was no denying that this baby could also be Caspian’s. One time was all it took.

If the baby was Caspian’s, maybe he’d want Audrey to terminate the pregnancy. Caspian was right about them being not ready. They were still kids themselves, trying to figure out what the future would be like. Bringing a baby into the mix would only complicate things further. And not to mention, the baby would suffer if it had to grow up in such an unstable environment.

How are we gonna do this?!

Audrey closed her eyes and let out a long sigh. These were thoughts that kept her up all night. When she opened her eyes again, she could see the dawn breaking from the bedroom window. The sun was slowly rising, signaling the beginning of another day.

Audrey wasn’t ready for the morning to come, but time wasn’t going to wait for anyone. She still didn’t know what they would do about the Anthony situation. And the baby situation was even more impossible to figure out. Audrey couldn’t do anything but look up at the ceiling and prayed for time to stand still.

Oh, god. Please tell me… What should I do?
