Chapter 10 Class Slut
Grace didn't have it in her to go to school that morning but then again she had to. She had a perfect record to maintain.
So reluctantly she got up from bed to get ready. She almost hissed at herself when she passed by her dresser mirror, she did not recognise the girl she saw in there. She had to fix that ASAP.
She finished quickly in the shower and got out to get dressed. More than once, Grace was grateful that she already had a cloth picked out for each day as her school was the type of high school that had uniforms, she was glad she didn’t have to lay out clothes or dresses to wear each day.
Grace quickly got dressed and her knee-high black socks, a pleated dark red skirt with stripes, a long-sleeved white shirt and the dark red waistcoats that had the school's logo on its left side, she put on her dark red tie letting it hang loose on her neck as she proceeded to do a bit of light makeup.
She chose the look of a messy bun today as she couldn’t be bothered to do anything with her hair and with that she was ready.
Then she walked down the stairs and made a quick lunch which was a simple jelly sandwich.
Grace poured herself a bowl of Cheerios as she wondered if Maddox would come, he usually dropped her at school when her dad couldn’t take her and considering that the old man was still at the hospital with mum…
By the time the cereal was finished, she quickly washed the bowl and placed it in the sink to dry before walking out of the house, locking the door behind her and shoving the key inside the pocket of her skirt. Her parents had a spare for when they were to come back.
Grace wondered if she should make the short walk over to Maddox’s place but immediately thought against it as she opted for option C, her trusty bicycle. She put her bag and lunch bag in the front basket, got on and began to pedal her way to school.
As she rode she tried not to think about what had happened between her and Maddox last night, she had no idea what came over her, she didn’t even know why she kissed him, he’s her best friend and almost a brother at this point though she loved him dearly, it wasn’t in a romantic way.
She wondered what he must’ve thought when he walked out and more so when he kissed her back for the briefest moment.
Of course, it had to be because he’d been caught off guard. Oh, she was too embarrassed to face him.
She finally got to school and parked her bike with the other ones, picked up her bag and lunch bag then climbed up the stairs into her prison—sorry, high school.
The moment she stepped in, she felt like there was something different going on, it wasn’t the atmosphere she was used to. Was it just her or were people whispering and staring at her? She tried not to think much of it as she briskly let her feet take her to her locker.
How was Mad doing? She wondered if he was ignoring her or if she was just making a fool out of herself as usual. Maddox didn’t attend the same school as her as he had already graduated high school but never bothered to further it to college.
Speaking of fools, these people were pointing and whispering things she couldn’t hear, Grace tried to ignore it as she made it to her locker to get her books, placing her lunch bag inside then walking to her home room. She entered her class and sat down.
Almost immediately, “Hiii Ra-ra, how’d your weekend go?”
Grace immediately put on a smile and turned to her seatmate and acquaintance, Molly.
“Hello, Molly”
“Oh my gosh Ra-ra, I love what you did with your hair today, could you tell me where you bought those clips later?”
“Yes, but uh, stop with the whole Ra-ra thing?”
“Oh don’t be silly, your name is Grace if you were to be called with a nickname it’ll be Gracie or something which everyone knows. Which is why, I wanted one for myself so you’ll know I’m the only one who calls you that.” Molly finished with a wink.
Molly wasn’t a bad person, rather she was often overly energetic, excited and enthusiastic about everything. It was one of the reasons Grace really didn’t consider her a close friend because even though Molly meant no harm the girl never knew when to keep her mouth shut, thus revealing other people’s secrets that she was entrusted with.
She was the one whom Grace had borrowed a dress from to go to that party.
“About your dress Molly, I haven’t dry cleaned it yet to return, so if you could please just give me a few days—”
“Oh nonsense, you can keep it besides it did look much nicer on you than it did on me…”
Molly was also from a well-off family and was the only child.
“…anyway give me details,” Molly bumped Grace’s arm in a playful way, “I’m sorry for not being able to make it to the party, I really am Ra-ra.”
Grace gave a short smile, “It’s fine.”
“So, how did it go? You saw him? Did you guys make out? What happened?!”
“Oh my God, calm down Molly,” Grace whispered, looking around the class in hopes that no one overheard.
“Sorry, I got a bit too excited about knowing,” Of course, she wanted to know, Molly made it her business to know everything.
Grace felt a bit embarrassed as she tried to smile a bit, “We didn’t do any of that Molly.”
“Didn’t do anything? That can’t be true—”
But Grace immediately cut her off and changed the subject, “Does today seem weird to you?”
“Weird, how?”
“I don’t know, like I feel people have been staring at me more than usual, it feels so awkward, really.”
“Staring at you—oh my gosh!” Molly suddenly gasped.
“What?” Grace asked pushing away from the desk she was leaning on, “What’s going on?”
“I forgot to mention, where’s your phone?”
“I left it at home to charge, it’s been off for a while though.”
“So you haven’t seen the video??”
“What video?”
Molly said nothing and just started scrolling on her phone then turned the screen to show Grace.
Grace took the phone to watch and what did she see? A video from that night in the restroom. But strangely, the video only showed Dylan grabbing her ass.
Grace was stunned.
