Chapter 85: Coming Back

Evelyn sat at a cozy table in the corner of the café, sipping her favorite herbal tea. It was the cafe which brought back some memories but she didn’t feel haunting anymore.

The past month in London had been a refreshing change. The city’s vibrant energy and the close company of Jack and Sia had helped her forget the bad memories and focus on the present.

She glanced across the table at Ethan, who was engrossed in a book.

Jack and Sia arrived moments later, bringing their usual warmth and laughter. As they settled in, Evelyn’s phone rang.

She saw Kylie’s name flash on the screen and quickly answered.

“Kylie! How are you?”

Evelyn asked, her voice filled with excitement.

“Evelyn! I have big news!”

Kylie’s voice was practically vibrating with joy.

“I’ve decided to get married to my boyfriend, and we want to do it as soon as possible. I need you here with me!”

Evelyn’s heart skipped a beat.

“That’s wonderful, Kylie! Of course, I’ll be there. When is the wedding?”

“As soon as you guys get here,”

Kylie replied.

“I can’t do this without you, Evelyn.”

Evelyn’s mind raced with thoughts and emotions. She shared the news with Ethan, Jack, and Sia, who all expressed their excitement and support.

“We have to go to New York,”

Evelyn said decisively.

“Kylie needs us.”

Ethan nodded, already starting to make plans.

“I’ll book the tickets.”

Jack, however, looked a bit hesitant.

“I’d love to come, but I’m not sure I can afford the trip right now.”

Evelyn reached across the table and squeezed Jack’s hand.

“Don’t worry about that, Jack. I’ll cover your expenses. You’ve been such a good friend, and I want you there with us.”

Jack’s eyes widened in surprise.

“ you don’t have to “

He replied and the smile on Sia’s face was long gone. She glared at jack making Evelyn to smile at her cuteness.

“ no jack. You helped me and I wanted to help. Friends are to help “

and then he smiled gratefully.

“Thank you, Evelyn. You don’t know how much this means to me.”

Sia beamed at Evelyn, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

“This is going to be such an adventure! I can’t wait to see New York.”

Evelyn stood in front of the full-length mirror, her hands gently resting on her growing baby bump. She turned slightly, admiring the way her round belly had started to define her figure.

Her cheeks had become fuller, giving her a softer, more radiant appearance. Despite the changes, she felt a sense of beauty and strength she hadn’t known before.

She ran her fingers over the fabric of her dress, feeling the gentle curve of her belly. A small, wistful smile played on her lips as she thought about how much her body had changed over the past few months.

The transformation was remarkable, and it filled her with a deep sense of awe and love for the life growing inside her.

For a fleeting moment, the thought of Dominic crossed her mind. She imagined him standing beside her, his hand resting on her belly, sharing in the joy and wonder of this new chapter.

But the memory of his betrayal quickly followed, casting a shadow over the moment. Evelyn shook her head, pushing the thought away. This was not the time to dwell on the past.

She turned her attention back to the mirror, taking a deep breath. Today was about something else entirely.

Kylie’s wedding was fast approaching, and Evelyn needed to focus on supporting her sister.

The excitement of planning the trip to New York and being there for Kylie’s big day filled her with renewed energy and purpose.

Evelyn smiled at her reflection, her eyes sparkling with determination. She was ready to embrace the future, not just for herself but for her baby and her family.

With one last look in the mirror, she nodded to herself and walked out of the bedroom, ready to tackle the day and everything it had in store.

“ i am ready to become what i never even thought of becoming “
