Prisha Jha
I was nervous as hell for my first day of office. I woke up earlier than usual. I had a good sleep but couldn’t sleep after that when it got disturbed at 5’o clock. I did a little research on how to dress up for office professionally. I just want to look perfect on my first day. I heard that the boss of that company is cold-hearted so it’s better to be prepared beforehand instead of feeling sorry later on. What do you say, guys??
After a lot of research I decided to freshen up and get ready for my first day.

The anticipation was building up as I made my way to the Merganser office. The city's early morning hustle and bustle only added to my nerves. My heart raced with excitement and trepidation, knowing that I was stepping into a whole new world.
As I entered the office building, I couldn't help but marvel at the grandeur of the place. It was a far cry from the small, cozy campus I was accustomed to.
I went to the receptionist and asked, “Hi, Im Prisha Jha. I have my joining as an intern in the Finance department. Can you confirm it?”
The receptionist checked the list and gave a nod with a smile. “This way, please” she said, I followed her.
The receptionist guided me to the elevator, and I rode it up to the last floor where I suppose the boss’s office was located.
The moment I stepped out of the elevator and into the corridor, I felt a wave of nervousness wash over me. I took a deep breath and reminded myself that I had prepared for this day. Confidence was key, and I couldn't afford to let my nerves get the best of me.
On that floor, there were only four cabins. I guess he doesn’t want any disturbance while working.
I was at his door and the nameplate said Arihan Rajput (CEO). I gave a gentle knock and waited for a response. A voice from within invited me in, albeit with a hint of impatience. I stepped inside, and there he was, Arihan Rajput, the enigmatic figure I'd only heard about.
He was impeccably dressed in a tailored suit, exuding an aura of authority. His intense gaze was fixed on some files spread out on his desk as he spoke, "Good morning, Sir."
I greeted him politely, though I couldn't help but feel a shiver run down my spine when our eyes briefly met. He asked me to sit. In a trance, I went and sat opposite to him. I don’t know why, but I have stared at him longer than I should. I came out of it only when he cleared his throat.
He quickly resumed talking, explaining the rules and expectations. I hung onto his every word, not wanting to miss any detail.
The more he spoke, the more I realized that the rumors about him were true. He was indeed a demanding and exacting boss. But beneath that stern exterior, there seemed to be a hint of something else, something I couldn't quite put my finger on.
As he wrapped up the briefing, he asked if I had any questions. My mind went momentarily blank, and I stammered out a "no, sir." I couldn't afford to make a fool of myself on my first day.
He dismissed me, instructing me to go to my cabin and start working. I was grateful for the opportunity but also slightly disappointed that our conversation had been so brief. I'd hoped to make a better impression.
As soon as I came out of his cabin, there stood a lady who was wearing a revealing dress. She smiled at me which is absolutely fake. Alright girl! If you can act, why not me?
I know how to treat people when they are having an attitude more than necessary.
I gave a very very sweet fake smile to her. She guided me to the cabin on that floor, which I didn't expect. I was thinking my desk would be on the first or second floor or somewhere else. But this? Oh! Bro, did I do anything to make that barbarian angry?
I gave a little shrug and followed her to the cabin. The cabin was big enough. I guess I will get training from the Assistant Finance Director because the name plate said so.
“You can take any one of the desks except the center. That is the Assistant Finance Director’s desk.” Ruby said. I just gave a nod and she left the cabin as she had completed giving me the instructions.
I sat at my desk, I couldn't help but replay the encounter in my mind. Arihan Rajput was a complex man, and I had a feeling that my time working under him would be anything but ordinary.
