Chapter 14: Fourteen

I enjoyed talking with Freya, she's so naïve and I'm sure that Calvin and the others liked her already. When she walked faster, I decided to let her be and followed her instead. Everyone thought that she was weak, including me. Seeing her fight earlier was unexpected. Even before I found out that she was mine, I was already sure and even my beast agreed with me.

"Frey," the idiot Alpha's son called her. Just why does everyone call her like that and I can't? No, because I didn't want to call her the way others do. I am her mate, so I had to call her differently. I stopped and saw what the idiot would do to my mate and so was Calvin. But it was a wrong move. Joric started to say nonsense about Freya being his mate.

What the hell is wrong with him? Then here comes his father. I know that if he was going to choose, he wouldn't let Freya become the Luna of the pack because he thought she was weak as well. I wanted to laugh at how his son insisted on Freya being his. He couldn't even smell her and yet, he thought that way?

My mate had told Daniel that he was not her mate, but the idiot didn't want to believe it either. He was jealous of Clay and Alec but couldn't do anything about it because he knew that he couldn't take them.

I was trying really hard to control my beast because he was furious that he wanted our mate. Just as Daniel and Jack tried to stand him, I did it instead and I saw Freya walk away.

"You know that you are not her mate, Joric," I said with authority.

"His highness," said Daniel, "he must have wanted me to shut up and let him deal with his son.

"Shut up Daniel, the reason why your son is acting like this was because you let him do whatever he wanted. You should have trained him to become a better alpha and not some whining mutt."

"You don't understand!" The mutt butted in." She knew that she's mine, that's why she keeps on avoiding me. She may have thought that I am going to reject her because I always bully her, but it was only my way for her to notice me." He added.

"Stop it, Joric. If she had been your mate, she would have jumped at you already. But you see how smug she was to you. She doesn't like you!" Daniel yelled at him. "You better get yourself straight or I will do that for you." He added and now with conviction.

"Jack!" He said and looked at his beta and the warrior with him and took Joric away.

"No Dad, I will make sure to get her. I am going to do anything just to get her. I love Freya and I only want her!" Joric continued shouting as he was pulled away.

"I'm very sorry for the trouble his highness," Daniel said,

"You should look into your son properly if you want him to assume your title," I replied before I continued walking. I had to go to Freya's to make sure that she got home safely.

"Matteo, what do you think was wrong with Joric?" Calvin asked when we stopped in front of Freya's home.

"He's gone mad." I replied as I looked up at my mate's window. I was sure that she was able to smell my scent and I was hoping that she would at least look out because I didn't know whether she was there or not unless I saw her.

She was quiet as well and no matter how much I tried to hear her, I just couldn't. "Freya, dear, come down now, dinner is ready." I heard her mom yell.

"Idiot!" I said out loud.

"What's wrong?" Calvin asked worriedly.

"I forgot to ask her for dinner" I exclaimed and he laughed. "Is that fun to you?"

"She's already at home so we can get back to the villa now, right?" He asked and I nodded. "I am going to assign warriors to look after them." He added, and I smiled at him. Here we knew what to do and we went back to the villa. This was the first time that I had been to sleep happily. I might have a good dream and hope that she's there too.

The following day, the warrior reported to me about Collins. Everything was good and Freya went to sleep early. Her dad told her to do so, so she could have her strength at full when she fought. I can tell that they love her so much and so she does.

Just like yesterday, Calvin did all the investigation and I am glad that we are about to finish. After this tournament, we will be able to get back to the palace and introduce my mate to my father. He would have been very excited for sure, he didn't wait for his mate, instead he took my mother as his chosen mate.

The tournament has been going smoothly. I can see how excited everyone was and were very happy to fight against each other. I think there are some of them who want to challenge someone and prove themselves strong.

Freya has been fighting in her human form and I have not seen her shift even once. I admire her for being strong and wise. Until she lost to a male fighter. I saw them shake their hands with a smile on their faces. She didn't shift, so her opponent didn't shift as well and I can say that it was a very close fight.

I didn't think that she'd be going to lose, she may have let her opponent win because she didn't want to fight any of her friends, Clay and Alec.

Daily, after the tournament, I invited Freya to come with me to the villa. I wanted to take her already but I had to stop myself. I knew better not to force her to do whatever I wanted. I had a feeling that I needed to ask her first before I did what I wanted to do to her.

It was the last day of the tournament and I was once again seated in the chair intended for me with Daniel while his beta, Jack, was with the fighters. His daughter must have been well now because I couldn't see worry on his face anymore.

This time, Joric and Clay were the only pair who left to fight in the finals. I wonder who will win. I must admit that he had been very serious that he won all his fights. He was very aggressive but I can see that he was using his brain and looking after his opponents' weaknesses.

Clay, on the other hand, was very calm. It was as though he was not worried at all. He looked confident and I looked at my mate who was cheering for him. I felt jealous, but when I looked at Joric, I saw that he was too.

I want to laugh at those two because they liked what was already mine. They can fight all they want, but Freya will only be mine and mine alone.
