Chapter 35 MELISSA 5
Melissa woke up to see all the workers surrounding her with a shocked face and the lady who had helped her earlier stepped forward.
“You and the CEO didn't tell us you were expecting triplets..that is very awesome news.” the lady said to Melissa who was still confused as to why she was in the hospital to begin with.
“Why am I here?” she questioned with a very serious voice.
The doctor explained to Melissa that she had experienced a severe case of placenta previa, a condition where the placenta covers the cervix, causing heavy bleeding. It was a dangerous situation for both Melissa and her unborn triplets.
Melissa's heart sank as she realized the gravity of the situation. She couldn't leave the hospital, not when her own life and the lives of her babies were at risk. Reluctantly, she agreed to stay and undergo the necessary blood transfusion.
As the days passed, Melissa's condition stabilized, and she began to feel a sense of relief. The doctors assured her that with proper care and monitoring, she and her babies had a good chance of making it through the pregnancy.
During her stay in the hospital, Melissa received countless messages and well wishes from her colleagues and friends. It was heartwarming to see the support and concern they had for her and her babies. She realized that despite the initial doubts and challenges she faced as the new CEO, she had earned their respect and trust.
Melissa couldn't contain her curiosity and concern, so she turned to Aunty B, her trusted cook, and asked her about the expected arrival of the triplets.
"Are the triplets coming soon, Aunty B?" Melissa asked, her voice filled with a mix of anticipation and worry.
Aunty B looked at Melissa with a kind smile and gently replied, "Oh my dear, you still have four months to go. The triplets will continue to make you lose blood, but we will make sure you receive the best care and support throughout this journey."
Melissa's heart sank once again at the thought of the challenges that lay ahead. She had hoped that the end was near, but realizing that she still had a significant amount of time left made her feel a sense of unease.
Aunty B, noticing Melissa's sadness, approached her and held her hand reassuringly. "Melissa, my dear, I understand that it's not easy, but remember, you have come so far already. You have shown incredible strength and resilience. We will get through this together, and before you know it, you'll be holding your beautiful babies in your arms."
Melissa nodded, appreciating Aunty B's comforting words. She knew she had to stay positive and focus on the present moment. She had already overcome many obstacles, and she was determined to keep fighting for the well-being of herself and her unborn triplets.
With the support of Aunty B and the rest of her loved ones, Melissa felt a renewed sense of hope. She knew that even though the road ahead might be challenging, she had the strength and determination to face it head-on.
Melissa decided to take things one day at a time, focusing on her health and doing everything she could to ensure a safe and healthy pregnancy. She trusted in the expertise of the medical professionals.
Despite her positive attitude, Melissa's fears occasionally came to the forefront of her thoughts. One night, she had a particularly vivid and unsettling nightmare. In the dream, she gave birth to her triplets, but upon waking up from the anesthesia, she found that they were nowhere to be found. She frantically searched through the hospital, but they had vanished without a trace.
Melissa woke up in a cold sweat, her heart racing with fear. She knew it was irrational to worry about something like this, but she couldn't help the feeling of dread that had taken root in her mind.
For the next few days, Melissa struggled to sleep and eat, consumed by anxiety about the future. She tried to stay positive and remind herself that her nightmare was just that - a nightmare. But the fear was too strong to shake off.
