Chapter 170 Luna's crest.
They arrived at their predestined location about ten minutes later. Their location was the state house. Where the entire Vance councilors stayed. Their plan was simple enough: capture or kill them if there was any resistance.
Candice and Vanessa were the first phase of the plan and after that phase they were going to away from the entire building as fast as possible. They'd already dressed up for the occasion as they were cladded in tight hotel maids uniform.
They walked into the building while Beatrice and the others waited outside. Their mission was simple, the simplest actually. They were to get every other delegate and businessmen that were innocent out of the building.
At first, it had seemed like they would have to keep knocking on people's doors one after the other, albeit blindly but for some reason, Beateice had the entire room roster of the State house in her hand. Those were one of the things she kept in check for Melissa as Luna cannot do everything herself.
She'd flipped out the entire taken rooms while Hance and Arya pointed out the rooms that were taken by his own councilors. They both needed to know this due to the fact that they didn't trust them, though at that point they still were not sure that these people were trying to kill them. It was merely a sparse hatred that was between them then.
As it stands now the fire in Hance's eyes showed he owed them no mercy and that was the reason why Avalors had to follow them, not to fight but to keep everyone in check. Melissa's part of the plan was to make sure that they try to do this without killing anyone. An assessment that the Infernal referred to as amusing.
He said it was funny that people like Melissa still existed even in this perishing world. No one usually understands half of his statement, it was as if he was speaking from an ancient age and they were just accidentally interfering with his frequency.
At the moment, Vanessa and Candice were already in the State house and at the door they were stopped by security. Three Sentinels who wore full helmets and armor that made them seem like a bunch of robots. “Identification please,” one of them asked.
Vanessa handed their identification to them and they checked it. “You work at the Grand Castle,” he said. “Then what are you doing here?” He asked, putting his baton in one of its hostlers.
Vanessa placed another thing on his palm, this time it was a small metal crest. “The Luna's Crest,” he said and the three Sentinels automatically fell to their knees. “How do we help you, your ladyship,” they asked in unison.
Vanessa nodded, breathing a couple of times before actually speaking. She'd been so afraid that something would go wrong and the sentinels would start shooting at them. “Outside there, two cars are parked, head towards the car and ask the people you meet there for instructions. Thank you,” she said and walked past the guards.
She held Candice hand firmly as they walked into the building, holding the crest in their hand. Just as they were instructed, they flicked on the lights at the reception desk. They walked towards it and before they would even start working three different guards walked towards them.
“Identification please,” they asked.
They went through the same protocols they’ve gone through with the guards outside and these ones left them immediately after they saw Luna's crest.
The Crest was just attached to a ring and for some reason, once a Sentinel sees it they understand immediately that there are threats around or something but Vanessa could see that it made them extra vigilant. The four guards in front of them had now taken strategic positions and they are now aiming their guns at different angles.
The two maids later realized they were being protected. Vanessa and Candice scrolled down on the names of the room and brought out the emergency mic dashboard. The dashboard had the controls of all the rooms on it. It was like a large placard.
The moment they found it, their next move was to switch off the mic to the room in which the Councillors were. This would take several minutes indeed as the Councillors chose one dofferentroom each. Though they were all side by side the room controls were scattered all over this dashboard.
After a while they were done and then they plugged in the mic. Then Vanessa handed over the mic to Candice. “Use your beautiful voice, they’ll love it,” she said with a smile and the second maid nodded.
Candice placed the mask close to her mouth and then spoke. “All personnels should please evacuate and move out of the room, there have been sightings of terrorists in the area. Please do not panic but gently pick the fastest thing you can and get out of the room as quickly as possible, thank you.”
There was only silence for a while then soon enough people began to troop out of their rooms rather quietly but with haste. There were just about a handful of individuals they needed out of the building.
After a while the building went silent and every other person had already stepped out. Then Vanessa took her phone and called Beatrice as both she and Candice exited the building. The moment they matched out, an entire squad of Sentinels matched in with them. As it would seem this was a wilder operation than they had initially thought.
The two maids entered into the car and seated at the driver's seat was Arya smiling at them. “We are leaving to a safe distance. We will be called when the whole charade is over,” she informed.
They nodded and held each other's hands as Arya ignited the car and zoomed away from the location. They glanced back and watched as Beatrice and the others trooped into the building.
