Chapter 54: Fifty-four
Mrs Morgana
As I remembered what made me find out the truth about who Alana really is and how I realized Verly is no longer the sweet little girl i raised I couldn't help but thank the Moon goddess, for making me see everything as clearly as they are .
It all started about two days ago ,i woke up and decided to spend the day in my lost daughters room, instead of going out like I had planned.
Because I suddenly had a dream regarding the night we lost her , I only have dreams when something important is about to happen.
I just really hope the important thing is me finally finding my baby girl, I thought to myself as i remembered hoe the dream panned out.
I found myself in a familiar place , It was the human world, But how did I get to the human world?
I remembered going to sleep not quite long ago, oh this is most likely a dream , or a vision, it's been quite long I had one.
"Mummy what are you thinking about" I looked to the side and saw my baby girl, it seemed I might have missed something when the incident happened.
And the moon goddess wants me to relive the moment to figure it out what exactly happened .
I looked at my five year old daughter whose birthday we came to celebrate at a festival in the human world.
Thinking back if I had known I wouldn't have gone out that day we would have had a family dinner instead.
"Nothing my beautiful daughter, mommy is just feeling a bit tired, I hope you are enjoying your special day", I patted her head.
"Yes mummy I'm enjoying my day, look daddy is back with Verly", she pointed to a direction and I saw my husband walking to me with our younger daughter,Verly on his shoulders.
As I watched them approach, a strange feeling of unease settled in my stomach. Something about this memory felt off, but I couldn’t quite place it. My husband smiled at me, his eyes crinkling at the corners. Verly giggled and waved from his shoulders, her tiny hands reaching out towards me.
"Mommy, can we go on the Ferris wheel?" Verly's voice was full of excitement, her innocence tugging at my heartstrings.
"Of course, sweetheart," I replied, forcing a smile. "But let's wait until your sister finishes her ice cream, okay?"
Verly nodded eagerly, and my husband set her down gently. As I watched them, my mind wandered back to the dream. The human world was so different from ours, and yet, it was here that we had experienced both incredible joy and unimaginable loss.
Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through my head, and the scene around me shifted. I found myself back in my daughter's room, surrounded by her belongings, each one a painful reminder of what we had lost. I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. The dream had felt so real, and the Moon Goddess's message was clear—I needed to remember, to see what I had missed before.
I closed my eyes and focused, willing myself back to that day. This time, I paid closer attention to every detail. The festival was bustling with life, the air filled with laughter and music. My husband and Verly were heading towards a stall selling brightly colored balloons. I followed them with my eyes, and that's when I saw it—a shadowy figure lurking near the edge of the festival grounds.
My heart raced as I tried to remember more. Who was that? And why hadn’t I noticed them before? The figure seemed to be watching us, their eyes fixed on my family. I felt a chill run down my spine.
I forced myself to look away from the figure and back to my daughters. My elder daughter was now finishing her ice cream, a big smile on her face. I couldn’t let anything ruin her special day. But as I turned my attention back to the festival, I realized that the figure had disappeared.
The rest of the day played out in a blur, just as it had before. We went on the Ferris wheel, we played games, and we watched the fireworks. But my mind was elsewhere, trying to piece together the puzzle that had haunted me for so long.
Back in my daughter's room, I opened my eyes. The answer was there, somewhere in that memory. The Moon Goddess had given me this vision for a reason. I had to find my daughter, and I had to protect Verly.
A sudden thought struck me what if Verly knew something? What if she remembered something from that day? I needed to talk to her, to ask her about the figure I had seen. Maybe together, we could uncover the truth.
I stood up, determination filling me. The Moon Goddess had shown me the path, and now it was up to me to follow it. I would find my lost daughter.
