Chapter 14: Fourteen

Alana

It's been few days since my children went missing and I still can't believe it , I sat in there room crying hoping they will just run in and tell me it's a prank like they always prank me

But reality dawned on me on the fifth day that I needed help , I decided to ask for advice from the only person I am close to in this city Dr Kodivic

I got to his office very early in the morning “Good morning Dr , I'm here to tell you the truth about my children's father” I blurted out not even allowing him to reply to my good morning.

I knew if I didn't say it like that I will probably not say it again “ What do you mean Alana , please explain” he said to me after a few minutes of trying to process what I just said

“Well I don't know if you have heard of a rumor that was going around about six years ago?” I asked him

He pondered for a while “what rumor Alana , that's quite long I can't seem to remember please just go straight to the point” he said

“Okay I'm not sure you have heard the rumor, but it's about the current Alpha king, there was a rumor going around then about his mate being an omega” I said and paused preparing myself to say the next words

“ I'm his mate, I lied to you my mate is not dead, well at least he Is to me after everything he did , but let's not deviate from the real issue here” I said to him and didn't wait for his reply before I continued

“I ran away from the palace not knowing I was pregnant, and I intended to go back when the kids are a bit older to let him know they existed” I stopped talking and started crying

He immediately stood up from his seat and came to seat beside me “Alana you will find them ,I promise and I think I know what you want to ask me”

“You do ?” I looked at him and said waiting patiently for his reply “Yes Alana , I know , and I think it will be best for you to go back to the palace” he said after a while of silence .

“ But he is already engaged to Verly I don't want people to think I'm lying just to separate them even though I'm his rightful mate, they don't really care” I said in between tears .

“I know Alana but please think about your children, I mean the person that took them probably knew who they really her so your best option is to go back to the palace” he replied me.

I knew Dr Kodivic was right , I had no choice but to go back to the palace, has that's the only way I can find my children easily .

I left his office after we talked a bit and he was able to get me a plane ticket directly to the capital, this was one of the things that I learnt from him.

That this world is more unless like the human world with little differences, for instance only people given special permissions can travel by air.

And Dr Kodivic surprisingly was one of them , so he allowed me use his token under the pretence that am his daughter.

I went home immediately and packed little essential things, and headed for the airport as every second now was extremely crucial.

We took of a bit late into the night and arrived at the capital in the morning, I immediately took a cab straight to the palace.

I stood in front of the palace gate, and fear overwhelmed me. I remained there for about ten minutes, reminiscing about all the things that happened six years ago.

I took a deep breath and kept telling myself I needed to go in for my kids sake , coincidentally it was around the annual ball time so I was allowed in after showing my invitation given to me by Dr Kodivic.

I felt a bit of Deja vu, like I was back to the week my whole life changed, I was about to be taken to my room when I stopped the maid.

“Please can you take me to see Dami.. I mean the king , I have important matters to discuss with him” I said to the maid .

“I'm sorry Miss but I can't, please let me show you to your room” she said after giving me a cold glance and she continued walking.

I immediately ran after her and grabbed her hands “Trust me it's a matter of life and death , ok just show me where I can find him and if anyone ask I will say I wandered off on my own” I pleaded with her .

After contemplating for a few seconds she finally agreed and lead me to the study hall , said a few things to the guards .

“The guard is my friend so he will go in and help you seek audience with the king , so whether or not he agrees to see you is up to fate” she said and left immediately.

I didn't even get to thank her , but I memorized her face and will thank her properly later , I stood outside waiting and hoping he sees me or I would have to wait till the ball night in few days .

Which I didn't want, so what happened last six years won't repeat, it self , I was staring at the people moving in and out of the palace in preparation for the ball .

With my back facing the entrance of the study hall, when I heard a voice I never thought I would hear again

"I heard you were looking for me." My heart skipped a beat. Will he even remember me? I wondered. After a few seconds, I decided to turn back, having prepared myself for whatever reaction he would show this time around.

But I wasn't prepared enough, because I didn't see the usual disgust in his eyes Instaed I saw, guilt, suprise, and a bit of longing like he wanted to hug me .

I was sure , I was imagining the last expression, so as not to give my self to much hope , I walked towards him .

“We need to talk Damien and I won't leave here until we do” I could see the shock on the guards face on how I addressed the king but I didn't care .

I waited for him to say something cold as usual but I got another shock of my life “Alana it's good that you are back , please let's go to my personal study so we can talk better” he said to me extremely polilety

I could see the same guard was as shocked as I was of how Damien spoke, but I didn't have time to think about it

He lead the way and I followed him into the study , while trying to gather the courage on how to break the news to him.

But I knew it won't be easy before coming here so I told myself I will say it no matter the outcome .

Immediately he closed the door after telling the guards not to allow anyone disturb us , it looked like he was about to say something , I didn't allow him to.

““Our children triplets to be precised have been kidnapped, I found out I was pregnant after I left the palace , I know you might day I'm lying but please find the children first and you can do a DNA , but I promise you I am not lying, I don’t have anyone to turn to that's why I came to you, I'm not here to disrupt your engagement to Verly”

I yelled and blurted it all out at once before I changed my mind, I looked at Damien waiting for him to react to what I just said .

And I could different expressions, first he looked surprised , then all of a sudden he frowned , I immediately thought about how he was about to chase me out again .

I immediately regretted coming here to just face humiliations , I should have continue searching for them myself, he is probably going to ask the guards to throw me out

I decided to leave before he had the chance to , I had almost gotten to the door when I felt him hold my hand “wait Alana”.
