SCARLET’S POV
‘Rich, will you marry me?’ I allowed this thought to cloud my head.
Maybe I was not serious about asking him such a question, but I was not paying any attention to him as he talked either. My mind was wandering far off. I wanted Ray and up till now, I and Lara have not been able to come up with a perfect plan.
The last time I was with him, he was so focused on the training that he barely noticed all of the body languages that I was giving to him. All the flirtatious comments, the subtle remarks, and even the accidental falls that saw me land on his chest.
He did not notice the unnecessary laughter and giggling and we have to come up with something soon or else I will never forgive myself if some other lady should end up having him.
“What is wrong with you, Scarlet, you have been absent-minded for the whole of today” Rich called.
“Oh, I am sorry. But I have been listening to you” I responded.
“Okay, so what was the last thing I said?” he asked.
“Did you say any last thing?” I stuttered.
“See, you have not been listening. What is the problem with you?” he inquired.
“I am fine” I responded.
“Okay, now you have to listen to me if you want us to leave here any sooner. I can see that you know the necessary defense which is very impressive. But you still don’t have the strength and zeal to pull through” he said.
“So, what do we do?” I asked.
“We will keep on with mock fights from now on. Your father would like to see what we have been up to this weekend and if you are good with the mock fights, we would show that to him” he replied.
“Will that not make him offended, what if he demands a real fight?” I asked.
“What I was employed to do was to help train you and not to import some strength into you” he retorted. He felt he was been mean and so he added. “Your father is more interested in you knowing what to do in times of trouble and not in your doing it per se”
“Oh,” I murmured.
“Don’t get me wrong. You have great improvements now. So what I am saying is that with time, you will learn everything and your strength will improve. It is going to take time” he said.
“Rich” I called.
“Yes, Scarlet” he answered.
“Will you marry me?” I asked.
I held my mouth as soon as the words came out. I don’t know what I was thinking to have asked him such a question. I guess I have allowed the fear of being handed over to a complete stranger to get the better part of me.
“What?” he stuttered.
I felt embarrassed and hid my face. I never intended to let those words out, I only wanted them to remain in my head where they belong.
“If Sir Tim will allow me, I will marry you,” he said.
“What?” now it was my turn to exclaim. Was he being serious or only trying to be mischievous?
But then, he was not someone that would joke about anything, let alone something as serious as this one. I raised my head to him and stared into his eyes.
“Yes, I will marry you” he repeated.
“Then go to my father and tell him of your intentions immediately” I begged.
“Who am I to walk up to Sir Tim bearing such news, who am I to ever dream of having Sir Tim’s first daughter?” he mumbled.
“But no, Sam already told me that they are looking for a suitor for me. If you don’t do this, I will be handed over to just anyone. Please go to him” I pleaded.
“It doesn’t work that way, Scarlet. Do you know whose daughter you are?” he asked.
“But they don’t care about me, they don’t care what happens to me” I begged.
“Yes, they may not care about you as they are supposed to, but they care enough to ensure that one of them is not given to a commoner” he replied.
“Then what am I going to do?” I asked.
“Time, time is all we need. We will wait and see how this turns out” he replied.
“But they can’t stop alpha Ray from having me, right?” I asked.
“Alpha Ray?” he asked. “No one can stop alpha ray from coming for you,” he said.
“Then, how do I get him? Please help me, I don’t know how to go about it” I pleaded.
RICH’S POV
“Then what am I going to do?” she asked.
I felt for her. She is just an innocent little girl that has been made to suffer over what she has no control about. If I could, I would make her mine and ease her from all of these sufferings. But who am I to go talk to Sir Tim face to face?
“Time, time is all we need. We will wait and see how this turns out” I responded.
With time, maybe beta Tim will give her the right to get someone for herself, and only then would she be able to present me to him. For this, we only rely on the moon goddess to touch the stiff heart of a man like beta Tim. But if that does not happen, then I am afraid there is nothing I could do for her.
“But they can’t stop alpha Ray from having me, right?” she asked.
“Alpha Ray?” I asked.
If alpha Ray wanted her then she does not have any problem. I have heard so much about him and he’s got such a kind heart and I know that he would not let any harm come to her once he makes her his.
Alpha Ray should be a better choice, much better than me.
“No one can stop alpha Ray from coming for you” I added.
“Then, how do I get him? Please help me, I don’t know how to go about it” she pleaded.
“But how come alpha Ray?” I inquired.
“I have always had this unexplainable feeling for him for such a long time now. However, I don’t think he feels the same way too” she replied.
“But then, alpha Ray does not know who his mate is. And knowing the kind of a man that he is, you will have to be up at your games in order to convince him that he is your mate” I said.
Alpha Ray is a man of great principles and everyone knows that he is not someone that would settle with just any woman that walks up to him claiming to be his mate. If not, so many women would have gone to him already as they all desire to be his.
“What then should I do, how do I make him want me as much as I want him?” she cried.
“Wipe your tears. I will tell you all that you need to do to win the heart of a man such as alpha Ray” I consoled her.
Hearing my assurance, she immediately wiped her face with her handkerchief and beamed in excitement.
“Do tell me, what am I going to do?” she asked.
I love the expression on her face. I love to see her face glow and devoid of all worries. She is such a sweetheart and deserves all the happiness on earth. Now I am going to tell her the things to do in order to make alpha Ray come for her and hopefully if there is no greater claim, I am going to see the two of them as one someday.
“Now you have to listen very carefully” I began.
