Chapter Ten

Lukes's Point Of View

Getting closer we finally got by the camp, Merlin turned to me.

"Before we go in there are thing's I must explain before taking this." Merlin hushed.

"Okay, and what do I need to know?" I whispered back.

"The elixir will only last for about half hour to an hour, which means we only have about forty-five minutes till we are back out here," Merlin explained quietly.

I nodded to show him I understood, as he nodded back gulping down half of the disgusting juice, and passed it to me next. without smelling, I gulped it down as fast as possible.

It tasted like dirt and blood. I cringed from the taste and did my best not to puke. Suddenly Merlin changed into a large, stalky, ugly orc. He was about eight feet tall, and his arms were almost as big as his body, as my body did the same.

"No time to talk we go in, grab her then leave." He ordered.

  "Right," I agreed.

My voice was much deeper in this form, following Merlin into the camp I realized there must have been thousands of orc's here.

We looked around trying to find Ariel, there was food everywhere the fire was about ten feet high. Wondering around we have already been here thirty minutes, which means we only have about fifteen minutes left.

"Hey, where is the human at?" Merlin acted.

"The king took the concubine by the fire. Hold on, I don't think I have seen you two before, are you guys new recruits?" The orc asked as he slithered down his beer.

"Yeah, we were just curious about the concubine." I tried to act smug.

"Thanks," I said quickly and hurried over to the fire where a girl is tied to a poll.

But what I saw, could have been a murder scene. The floor soaked in blood and the smell of puke lingered in the air. The poor girl; Ariel looked up and scattered to the nearest wall.

"No, please no more." I didn't have enough time to clean her off or enough time to explain to her who I was.

"We have to go, I'll explain later,"  I grabbed her but she got out of my grasp and got her hands onto something sharp and held it out towards me at a stance.

  Wow, wasn't this ironic.

"Why the hell would I go with you?" She spits out coldly.

"Seriously Ariel there's no time for this," I argued.

before she had a chance to cut me I grabbed her by the hair and dragged her out into the open, there wasn't any time we had five minutes and she's fighting me on leaving.

Merlin quickly appeared by my side, somehow telepathically he connected to me saying:

We have to go. RIGHT NOW.

I already knew that, but Ariel is getting stubborn. She bit my hand and ran off into the crowd of orcs. There was no way we were going to get her in time.

  Damn it.

I ran repeating the same words over and over; Damn it, damn it, damn it.

It was too late I've noticed I started shrinking back into my regular self and as soon as we caught up with her, it was too late.

She finally realized it was me she jumped into my arms balling her fists as tears sprang down her small pale face.

"We need to get out of here, we can do this later," I grabbed her wrists trying to move around them without them noticing but I accidentally ran into one.

He turned to look down at me, it was the king. Now we are really screwed.

I quickly remembered my dagger attached to my pant's and I quick stabbed the blade deep into his chest. He let out a roar of pain he collapsed almost on top of me. That's where everyone turned to face us.

"Where you going princess, we ain't done with you yet," Margon grabbed Ariel's wrist she took the blade and stabbed it into his eye, and ripped it out and gave it back, Merlin ran to the dead orc king and ripped out one of his incisors.

"We need it for the elixir," Merlin explained.

That was when everything turned slow-motion. Thousands of orcs ran towards us as they grabbed their weapons I cut one down with my dagger, and then another and another.

Merlin suddenly passed Ariel a bow and arrow.

"I hope you know how to use one of those, girl," Merlin yelled over the catastrophe.

She nodded quickly shooting arrows until we are completely surrounded.

Merlin lifted his arms into the sky and his eyes almost turned a glowing white, as ice exploded from the ground freezing every single orc from their feet to their head's.

The encampment turned into an icy Winterland everything glittered in the moonlight.

"We don't have much time, in this heat they will only be frozen for twenty minutes,"

All three of us ran in between the now frozen statues of the orc people, we ran out of the fences and past more mountains and rocks, running toward the way of the moon. When we finally felt we were far enough we collapsed onto the dewed grass wheezing.

Ariel rolled herself into a ball and hugged her legs into herself.

"Ariel, are you alright?" I asked gentle enough she won't lash out at me.

But instead of answering she just shook her head no as tears continued to fall.

"You should probably clean up some," I suggested pointing over to a nearby river. "I promise I won't peak,"  I said jokingly, she slowly came up and clung to me and continued to cry.

"No, don't leave me," She cried, I looked at her dumbfounded not knowing what to say.

She looked up at me teary-eyed with hair matted to her face. "Come with me,"

"Are, are you sure?" I sputtered out, nodding her head yes she took my hand and pulled me down to the river.
