Chapter 18 I Regret Marrying Fraya
DIMITRI POV
Today marks exactly six months since I last saw Madi, and also since I got married to Fraya.
When my mother told me she was ill and asked—actually begged—me to do what my father wanted, I immediately agreed.
I didn't know it was all an act with Fraya, a concocted lie to force me to fulfill that damned contract.
When I discovered the deception, it was too late.
At least now the company is run by me, without any restrictions.
Even after I married, I couldn't forget Madi, the prostitute who, for a while, made me feel something again.
Of course, I haven't stopped going to nightclubs, but I won't go to the one she frequents anymore.
My marriage to Fraya isn't really a real marriage.
I made it clear to her that I don't feel and never will feel anything for her, but my wife insists on treating me like the love of her life and makes a point of showing everyone, especially the press, how happy we are.
Pure lies.
"Mr. Thompson, your mother called again and asked you to return her calls," my secretary said after entering my office.
Next time, Sandra, don't answer — She swallows hard and continues.
Ever since I found out my own mother cheated me, I haven't spoken to or seen her.
Honestly, I don't miss her.
Everything is ready for your trip, you'll be boarding in 2 hours, and I have already booked a reservation at the same hotel you stayed at last year.
Thank you, Sandra.
Tell my driver to pick up my bags from home and come back here to get me, and make it very clear not to give Fraya any information.
Yes sir.
She left soon after, leaving me to finish some paperwork.
I was already in the car heading to the airport when my phone started ringing.
Humm.
Hello, you're going on a trip and you didn't even bother to let me know, Dimitri?
Did you forget what we agreed on?
I don't remember anything.
She sighs and begins to speak.
Let me remind you, we didn't have a honeymoon, and the agreement was that if either of us were going to travel anywhere, even for work, we would take the other along.
Oh, I remember now but I don't recall agreeing to that.
Now, Fraya, I need to leave.
We'll talk when I get back — I hang up without letting her speak.
Arriving at the airport, I check in and soon board.
I hope this meeting brings me good profits.
A few hours later, I disembark and go straight to the hotel.
I need a shower before going to the meeting.
"Good morning, I have a reservation under the name Dimitri Thompson," I said to the green-eyed receptionist, who became very excited when she saw me.
"Here's the key to your suite, If you need anything," she bites her lip before continuing, "you can talk to me, I'm at your service."
"Thank you, who knows, I might need your services later," I said and smiled before leaving, but not before I heard a long sigh from her.
Women.
They can't hide what they're feeling.
What the mouth doesn't say, the body betrays.
I take a quick shower and start getting ready.
I wore this suit when I first met Madi.
I tousle my hair a bit and then style it the way I like, I put on some perfume and I'm ready.
I decide not to take the driver, grab the car keys, and head towards the restaurant where the meeting will be.
God, because I'm starving.
Upon arriving, I see that some business partners are already present.
I greet everyone and we wait for the rest to arrive.
"Dimitri hasn't changed at all, even with a wedding ring on his finger," Torres said, seeing me flirting with a woman at the next table.
"I'm married, but I'm not dead," I said, and everyone at the table laughed.
It wasn't long before Cohen Charleston made his appearance, and what I didn't expect was that he would be accompanied by her.
Madi was beside him, and upon seeing me, she was surprised and visibly nervous.
She still wants me, she still feels desire for me.
I stand up and greet them both, but judging by Madi's response, she doesn't want her companion to know that she knows me.
Hearing her voice again got me pretty excited, but I need to contain this crazy urge to fuck her right here on this table.
We chatted for a while, I couldn't take my eyes off her, and I became even more curious to know what she was doing with Cohen.
"If you'll excuse me, I'm going to the restroom." She gets up and walks in the opposite direction from the table.
A few seconds after she leaves, I also excuse myself to make a phone call.
I walk in the same direction she went, and when I open the bathroom door, she has her head down and her butt sticking out, increasing my desire to fuck her.
Fuck it.
I take the key from the door and lock it.
When Madi raised her head, it was like she was back that same day when we were face to face in the room and had the best sex of our lives.
I wasn't prepared to see her again, and because I couldn't control my impulses, we ended up having wild sex in the sink in the women's bathroom.
Madi is my downfall, she's temptation personified.
I lose control when I'm near her; her scent throws me off balance, and before I know it, it's happened.
After the meeting, I didn't see Cohen and Madi leave; I didn't even have a chance to say goodbye, although she probably didn't want to because she must be hating me intensely now.
When I finally get to the hotel to rest, my phone rings and I already know who it is.
"Hi my love, how was lunch?" she asked lovingly.
Well, the same old topics.
And when are you coming back? I already miss you.
I roll my eyes at all this mushiness.
Although Fraya is a beautiful and attractive woman, she has many flaws, one of which is being clingy and not understanding that I can't stand this fake marriage.
Besides my thoughts still being filled with memories of Madi, especially after today, I bitterly regret leaving her alone in bed and going to get married.
I'll only be back in a week, you know that, Fraya.
I know, I know, but even so, I was thinking of coming to see you.
What do you think?
"No," I said in a much louder tone than I would have.
And why not, Dimitri?
Whether you like it or not, I'm your wife.
I'm very busy and wouldn't have time for you, wait until I get back.
She lets out a sigh of frustration and says.
Okay, but come back soon.
Okay, I need to go now.
Okay, my love, I love you and I hung up without answering her.
I'm not a romantic man, and to this day I haven't told Fraya that I love her because it's not true, I don't love anyone, and her excessive affection irritates me.
Minutes later, I received an invitation in my room.
Tonight there will be a Gala party, and everyone will be there, including Madi.
I don't know why, but I can't wait to see her again.
