Chapter 12 If You Can't Speak Properly, Then You Don't Need Your Tongue!
"I-I'm not scared!" Maya's voice was firm, but a flicker of fear flashed in her eyes.
"If you're not scared, why are you so eager to get rid of me?"
"If you're not scared, and you and James are truly in love, why would you fear my presence?"
"If you're not scared and confident in your relationship with James, why would you come to me and say these things?"
With each question, Emily took a step closer to Maya.
"Scared of you?! How could I be scared of you! I'm the daughter of the Coleman family, what can a woman of unknown origin like you compare to me!"
Maya was forced to retreat step by step by Emily, but she refused to admit defeat, shouting loudly at Emily with her neck stiffened.
Scared of her? Impossible!
She was the daughter of the Coleman family; what was there to fear about this worthless Emily!
Maya thought this in her heart, but the fear on her face was undeniable.
Emily looked slender and weak, but her sharp eyebrows and the imposing aura she exuded made Maya tremble uncontrollably.
Even though she didn't want to admit it, she was actually scared of her!
Emily saw the blatant fear in Maya's eyes and sneered coldly, "Remember this, I don't care what your relationship with James is. If you truly want to marry James, once he recovers, I'll disappear from the Thomas Villa and even send you a wedding gift. But before that, don't mess with me."
"I'm not a good person; messing with me won't do you any good."
After finishing her cold words, Emily walked past Maya with Mason.
Maya was momentarily stunned by the coldness in Emily's eyes, and when she came to her senses, she found that Emily had already walked past her.
"Xanthe was right, you really have no manners!" Maya turned around and shouted at Emily's back, unwilling to give up.
Emily slowly stopped in her tracks.
"I heard your mother seduced Finn with her looks to marry him. Like mother, like daughter, you both are sluts who only use dirty tricks..."
A loud slap interrupted Maya's words. She covered her swollen cheek, blood seeping from the corner of her mouth, glaring at Emily with humiliation.
"You, you dare hit me!" Maya shouted in disbelief.
"If you can't speak properly, then you don't need your tongue!"
Lily's death was a sore spot for Emily, a bottom line she wouldn't allow anyone to trample on.
Maya's words had indeed triggered Emily's rolling anger. If it weren't for being in the Thomas Villa, she would have cut off Maya's tongue already.
"You, you dare!"
Maya was frightened by the murderous intent in Emily's eyes and retreated in terror.
"What? I dare what?"
Emily sneered, stepping closer to Maya.
"I've said it before, I'm not a good person, so don't mess with me!"
"Don't, don't come any closer! Help!"
Maya was so scared that she started crying, her face covered in tears and snot.
"Mrs. Thomas!"
Faye suddenly rushed over, "Mr. Thomas is in trouble!"
Emily frowned upon hearing this, her cold eyes sweeping over Maya's tear-streaked face, warning, "Don't bother me again, or else..."
She didn't finish her sentence, but it was enough to scare Maya into collapsing to the ground.
This Emily, so terrifying!
Maya sat on the ground, biting her lip in hatred and unwillingness.
The murderous intent in Emily's eyes just now was like a demon returning from hell, making people terrified and unable to move.
Emily pushed open the door and was shocked and angry at the scene before her.
"What the hell is going on?"
James, who had been sitting properly on the bed, was now lying on the floor in a very awkward position, his hands and feet scraped, surrounded by scattered sheets and pillows.
Emily quickly put down the bedding she was holding and walked over to help James up.
"Don't touch me!"
James suddenly pushed Emily away like a raging lion.
Emily was caught off guard and fell to the ground.
"Why are you suddenly acting crazy?" Emily's already limited patience ran out, and she was furious.
"Get out! All of you, get out!"
"I'm just a useless person, don't pretend to pity me!"
"You want money, right? I'll give you money, just stay away from me. I'll give you as much as you want!"
James sat on the ground in a mess, clenching his fists in frustration.
He had wanted to move to the bathroom to take a shower while Emily was away, feeling uncomfortable in his dirty clothes.
But his legs felt like lifeless wood; no matter how much he hit them, they didn't respond.
Was he going to be like this for the rest of his life?
He was unwilling to accept it!
James had always been proud and above others.
When had he ever been so pathetic?
Especially in front of a woman he disliked, it made him feel humiliated and embarrassed.
'So, just leave!'
'Don't care about me anymore!'
The room fell silent, and only the faint sound of breathing could be heard.
"Why are you still..."
James gritted his teeth, about to continue driving people away, when suddenly, a small, soft hand lightly patted his cheek.
'Daddy, idiot!'
Mason, who had been watching, couldn't hold back anymore when he saw his dad being so rude to Emily. He walked up and patted James's cheek with a hint of resentment.
"Mason?" James was stunned, his anger subsiding a bit.
He had thought the scent in the room meant Emily had returned, but he didn't expect Mason to be there too.
What time was it? Was it late? Mason should be sleeping by now.
With his eyes unable to see, James's sense of time was not sharp, but it seemed like it had been a while since dinner, and it should be bedtime for kids.
"Mason, why aren't you asleep yet? And you, woman, how could you let the child stay up so late? He won't grow tall!" James frowned, his tone harsh.
Emily was almost amused by her anger.
"Mr. Thomas, if you weren't throwing a tantrum and causing trouble, I would have put Mason to bed long ago."
"I... you mean, I'm a troublemaker?"
For some reason, the thought of Emily daring to call him a troublemaker made James very unhappy.
Emily glanced at James's face, filled with unwillingness and humiliation, and said nothing.
She could understand that a proud man like James, suddenly facing such a change, would have difficulty accepting it and become irritable.
But understanding was one thing; enduring James's anger was another.
Emily blinked, then suddenly leaned forward and started to undress James.
"What are you doing?"
James grabbed Emily's hand that was fumbling on his body, gritting his teeth.
