Chapter 33: Back Up

Eli, Christoph, and Alex found the Lead Warrior Rebekah on the edge of the forest near the backside of the lake. They quickly ran through what they saw. "They are being held in the house which is heavily guarded," Eli explained. "I keep on feeling she is in pain. I am not sure why. Our bond is not complete so I can't pinpoint things." Eli was pacing back and forth as he explained. "We have to find a way for me to get closer." He looked at the Rebekah pleading with her to find a way to help him save his mate.

"I think it would be best if we stage a coo on the other side of the lake pulling more of the rogues in that direction giving you a chance to get into the Cabin," Rebekah instructed. "Once you are in we will end the rogues quickly and come to you as backup." Rebekah was a strong young woman around Eli’s age. They had gone to school together. She was a grade ahead and Eli remembered her being a respected upperclassman, which is hard to do in a school made up of horny teen wolves. She rose to the top ranking of the warriors quickly and has remained there since Eli graduated.

"That sounds perfect." Christoph replied, "Remind me to introduce you to the Alpha when this is all over." Rebekah nodded and headed to the other side of the Lake. Eli and the rest watched the Cabin from where they were, waiting for rogues to leave the cabin.

On the other side of the lake, Rebekah instructed her warriors of the plan “Vince you and Gus head out of the trees first. Will and I can follow up shortly after. I want you to be loud and draw as much attention as you can. We have to get the rogues to come and investigate. When they get close we will run and herd them away from the area.”

The men did as they were instructed and headed into the open air in hopes of giving Eli just enough time to help their Alpha.

Violet watched Liz intently she had to find a way to take the focus off of Cora, "Why are you helping them?" Violet asked Liz, trying to distract her enough so she would leave Cora alone. Liz gave a lazy half grin. She looked down at Cora and then over to Violet. Her eyes were void of compassion and made the hair on the back of Violet's neck stand up.

"Are you really that dense?" She spat the words like venom. Violet lifted her chin in defiance. "I am not dense. I am just trying to decide if you are worth the trouble of trying to save."

"Ha you save me, that's rich you can't even protect your best friend or your mate's little brother. He has been a fun toy little Alex. He got me everything I needed."

"Don't you dare talk about Alex? He has nothing to do with this and he sure as hell deserves better than you."

"Oh, how you wound me Alpha." She lilted, mocking Violet.

"But why would you want to align with this monster? He will drop you as soon as he gets what he needs from you." Violet could tell Liz was almost distracted enough to let go of her friend she just needed to keep the conversation going.

Liz Looked down at Cora then looked sidelong at Violet "I could do it you know. Break your poor friend's neck. It would be easy she is fragile and so very very human. She doesn't fit in this world you are now in. It could be quick." She wrapped Cora's hair tighter around her hand.

"Lizabeth you are being rude. Violet asked you a question now why don't you answer it." Bacchus drawled walking over to a chair and lounging on it. "Go on child let her in on the secrets of why you would dain to be in my presence and stoop so low as to follow me." He waved a lazy hand.

"Violet, don't you see what is going on." She let go of Cora making Violet want to sigh. She knew not to draw attention to the action, however. Liz walked towards Bacchus and leaned then perched herself on the arm of the chair looking at Violet expectantly. Violet looked at them closely. They both were built the same with long limbs that on most would be acquired but on them added to their mysterious beauty. They had the air of a large cat instead of wolves. They both had inky jet-black hair that laid straight giving the illusion of motor oil being dumped on their heads; the only difference was their eyes. “Take your time Alpha I can tell you are getting there” Liz cackled. Liz's eyes were dark with what originally Violet saw as gold but now she realized they were yellow specks. Where Bacchas's eyes were straight yellow. Violet gapped in horror. It can't be what she thinks it is, it just can't. "Have you figured it out yet all mighty Alpha Violet?” Liz prowled towards her stopping just far enough to be out of reach. “Bacchus is my father."
