Chapter 27: WTF
“Who is it?” Violet asked not hiding the irritation in her voice. Eli stood up and walked to a chair as she hopped down from her perch. She looked at her mate wanting so badly to finish what he had started.
“It’s Elder Cecil I need to meet with you now” he said sternly and opened the door, “I am not interrupting any important business am I?”
“No, of course not. How can I help you Cecil?” She walked behind her desk and Eli came around to stand behind her. The portrait of support.
“I have heard from several people that the rogue is still here and training with us.”
Violet's eyebrows lifted “is this a problem?”
“No, it’s just she must be a productive member of society and if she is going to stay much longer she needs to become a pack member.”
“Cecil, she is working in the pack house as a maid. Has been living in the communal girls rooms and is even asking about taking community college courses. I do believe she is being a productive member. As for becoming a pack member I am not sure yet if that is wise.”
“Why would that not be wise if she is as productive as you say she is?” he sneered.
Violet pinched the bridge of her nose “When she first got here she mentioned wanting to entrap a male wolf so she could stay. I don’t believe she has proven she is devoted to this pack and not just herself.”
“Well if you weren’t so distracted by sex, maybe you would know if she was devoted to this pack.” Eli gave a small growl “Don’t growl at me Lunar I could smell the arousal in the hall before I even got to your office door. Maybe it would be better if you used your time at night in your bedroom.”
“You are crossing the line Cecil! You will treat me with respect as your Alpha.” Violet snarled.
“Mark my words Alpha if you do not invest in this rogue and make her a member you will have the Elders to answer too.”
“ Are you threatening your alpha?” Eli exclaimed. “Careful Cecil, I believe that is treason for any pack member, even Elders. You are done here.” Eli came around the desk and opened the office door for him to leave.
Violet took a deep breath and then let it out. “WTF was that.”
Eli pulled her to him and kissed the top of her head “just let it go. He is just a grumpy old wolf who has nothing better to do than throw his weight around.”
Violets watched dinged. She looked down and then looked up at her glorious mate “Well times up I have to go change. It's time for training.” Eli smacked her ass as she turned from him “see you at the field. Oh and we will finish that later.”
