Chapter 18: Eighteen

“A dress? On Friday?” Selby finished running the towel through his hair as he gawked at his wife as she put on the finishing touches of a tan business dress. “I thought Fridays were all about being casual and comfy. What gives?”

Faith weaved the belt through the loops as she checked herself out in the mirror. Not bad if she did say so herself. “I was told to wear a dress today, so a dress it is.”

“Told, huh? Edwin is getting into his role, I see.” Selby walked over to her with a smirk on his face. The towel dangled in one hand as he lifted the hem of her dress with the other and exposed her bare pussy. His smile widened. “The only reason to ask a lady to wear a dress. Easy access.” He let the hem fall back into place as he tossed the towel onto the bathroom counter. “Are we planning some workday frolic?”

Faith brushed the dress back into place, smoothing it out where Selby had lifted it. “To be honest, I don’t know what he has planned. That’s the point of the game, to allow him to call all the shots and for me to just do whatever he says.”

“With the stories you’ve shared so far it sounds like he enjoys taking chances. Hopefully, he is conscious of where you both are and doesn’t risk your jobs because you both were horny.”

Faith ran a brush through her hair one more time. “I doubt he would risk his lucrative position over a quickie. I trust him, or I wouldn’t be doing this. I have more than a job to lose. My sister works there. It could cause some horrendous family drama if she were to find out and take it back to Mommy Dearest.”

She set the brush down on the counter and turned to Selby. “However, Edwin did have one request. He wanted to know what the chances were of getting together outside of work. It would limit the risk and offer a little more chance to explore. It would also give you time to see Tracey.” Her stomach was a jumble of knots, and she wasn’t sure why she was so nervous, but it seemed worse asking for a night alone with Edwin than it did to just fuck him. This was almost like a date. “What do you think?” She fumbled with her hands, twirling her fingers.

Selby seemed to think for a moment, but then nodded his head. “It might be the only way Tracey and I get a shot at being together. I don’t see why we can’t try it and see how it goes. Make it at the same time, so that neither of us are here at home alone wondering what the other is doing.”

“I hadn’t thought about that. I’m sure it would drive me crazy. I’m not sure how you’ve done it so far.”

His eyes twinkled as he said, “I read a lot.”

She laughed with him. “Thank you.”

Selby slipped on his boxers and jeans and picked up a shirt from the foot of the bed. With the shirt dangling in his hands, he walked over to where she stood and wrapped an arm around her waist, spinning her so she faced him, pressing her to him tightly. He raked her with his eyes, the smile still plastered across his lips. “I love you,” he said. He leaned forward and sucked her bottom lip into his, before devouring her in a deep kiss.

Faith wrapped her arms around his chest, one hand slipping into the wetness of his hair as she returned his morning passion. She could feel the hardness of his chest against the swelling of her nipples as their embrace brushed the fabric across her sensitive flesh. As they pulled apart, she whispered back, “I love you, too.”

As she left him to finish getting ready for his day, which happened to always be a casual dress day, she wondered what Edwin had in mind for her to make her dress the way she had been told. That she chose an outfit that wasn’t jean material and didn’t appear painted onto her ass would surprise everyone at work. That was all right. It paid to keep people on their toes once in a while and surprise them.

Driving into work, she thought once more about how Edwin fucked her in the warehouse and used her, how he made her ask for it, telling him she wanted it. It had been exactly what she wanted him to do. No boundaries. No rules. His to command. She wondered if she surprised him by not only showing up in the warehouse but following through with everything he asked of her. She had definitely surprised herself.

The offices of Rutherford were quiet when she finally arrived. Glancing at her watch, she realized she was early, way early. No wonder Selby had still been dripping wet when she left the house. It surprised her he said nothing about it. She shook her head. I am a silly schoolgirl.

Terrence was just opening the warehouse as a few other early birds showed up for supplies. As Faith walked the small concrete steps to the main doors, Jed was just unlocking them. He opened them as he saw her approaching through the glass door, his face revealing how happy he was it was Friday. “You are eager to get this day over, aren’t you? You do know that just because you get here early, doesn’t mean you get to go home early.” His voice held a soft chuckle.

Faith slumped her shoulders in mock despair. “But that’s not fair.”

“Welcome to Rutherford Construction,” he said with a slight laugh. “Why are you here so early, anyway?”

Faith stepped through the door, and together they walked toward the den of offices. “To be honest, I didn’t realize it was this early until I pulled up and saw the empty parking lot. I must have woken earlier than I thought. It’ll probably make the day seem twice as long now.”

“Well, nothing like getting a jump on the day. I dropped some files on your desk for a couple of new proposals. Edwin will be in a little later. He’s having breakfast with Morgan before the big boss heads back to wherever big bosses come from. And it’s your lucky day, Grady called out sick.”

“There is a silver lining to this day.”

At the door to the Girls’ Den, Faith slipped in, and Jed kept going. At the doorway, Faith paused and glanced at Edwin’s dark office. What does he have planned for today?

Selby locked his car and slipped the keys into his front pocket. It was time for a steak bagel from Joe’s. Faith had left so early and in such a hurry this morning that breakfast seemed a moot point. As he turned and started across the street, he caught a glimpse of Tracey coming out the side door that led to the kitchen, her arms across her chest. Her face seemed twisted in rage, and Selby wondered what Joe said to her to get her so irritated that early in the morning.

However, as Selby continued walking toward her, the man he saw her with the other day followed her out of the bakery, his arms gesturing wildly at whatever he tried to articulate. From the looks of Tracey, she wasn’t buying any of it. Selby was about to turn and skip his breakfast, when he saw the tall man grab her and spin her around. It was obvious he yelled at her.

Selby sped up his pace. He had left her alone the other day, but not today, not with the man’s behavior. “Tracey, you okay?”

As soon as the other man heard his voice, he released his grip on the small redhead and took a step back. “We’re fine,” the man said. He was a few inches taller than Selby, with short dark hair and circular glasses. He was thin and pale as if he worked indoors and never ventured out. What stuck out to Selby the most, however, was the wedding ring on his finger.

Selby ignored him and stepped closer to Tracey. “I wasn’t asking you.”

Tracey, her dusting of freckles now moist with tears he hadn’t noticed, smiled up at him as she reached out and touched his arm with her hand. “I’m fine. Ryan was just leaving. For good.” She turned and faced Ryan with that last phrase. “Goodbye, Ryan. And good luck.” She stood there with her arms crossed waiting for the other man to leave.

Ryan stared for a moment, but then nodded. “Goodbye, Tracey,” he said before turning and walking away.

Selby watched as the other man left. Selby wanted to wrap an arm around Tracey but wasn’t sure if he should or not. “Are you really okay?”

Ryan turned the corner and was out of sight before she answered. “Yes. Sometimes, the past is stubborn.”

Selby glanced at her as he slid his hands into his pockets just to put them somewhere. “Ryan is your past? Tracey, he has a wedding ring.”

She turned on him, her face an angry twist. “So do you, Selby Greer. Do not be naïve nor hypocritical. And before you do something stupid and ask, yes, his wife knows. It was a complicated relationship that needed to end, so I ended it. Ryan just had a hard time accepting it and has tried to force me into returning to something I knew would cause people pain. I can’t do it. I won’t do it.”

“He seems to be the one hurting pretty bad.”

“Well, I wasn’t in the relationship for him.” She took a deep breath, and before he could ask her what she meant, she turned back to the bakery. “Come on in, and I’ll hook you up with some breakfast for being my knight and coming to my rescue.”

She walked away, and he dutifully followed, his eyes trying to see through her back and into her heart, to see what she meant, and what she really felt. If she wasn’t in a relationship with Ryan for Ryan, then who was she in the relationship for?

Joe’s Bakery buzzed with activity when they walked back in, and Joanie was glad to have the help again as the line had backed up to the entrance. “Your girl’s falling behind,” Joe called out as Tracey entered the front of the bakery.

“What? You forget how to work the counter, old man? With as much free coffee as I serve you, you could have pitched in a bit.” Tracey ignored the customers who waited, put a steak bagel together for Selby, and thanked him again. “I’ll come by at lunch.”

“Good, because I want to talk to you about something.”

She arched an eyebrow at him with a questioning look. He just winked at her. “Trust me.”

“Please, I’ve heard that line too many times in my life.”

He reached out and touched her hand briefly. “Not from me.”

Their eyes locked, and he tried to put as much meaning as he could into that gaze. “Go,” she finally said. “I’ve got people to help.”

He just smiled as he left. He wasn’t sure why he said it, but he meant it. He would prove to her he wasn’t Ryan. He wasn’t naïve. He knew if she would sleep with him, then she probably would have slept with others who caught her attention. Selby knew he wasn’t anything special to cause someone to change their moral code. What he asked of her, he was sure others had as well, but he would be different. He would show her.

But first he had to get her alone where they could talk.

Faith accomplished quite a bit before Cherish graced them with her crabby presence. She barely spoke to anyone once she arrived and slammed her purse onto her desk, not even offering an explanation as to why she was late. She merely grumbled she was going to have a cigarette. Faith just shook her head. Arrive an hour late and then take a cigarette break. Cherish really was a prima donna.

It was after lunch before Edwin arrived at the office. He didn’t offer an explanation as to where he had been, either. But then again, he didn’t need to. He was the boss. Faith noticed, however, that his mood seemed to match Cherish’s and decided perhaps it was best to steer clear of both for a while.

However, fate didn’t afford her that luxury.

“Faith, may I see you in my office, please.” Edwin stood in the doorway as he spoke but didn’t hang around to see if she was busy or available or even if she heard him. He just turned and walked away.

Cherish’s face seemed to shrivel into a grimace even more as she made a point to avoid glancing at her sister or the doorway.

Faith gave a mental shrug and then followed Edwin’s path. With Cherish, you never knew what had her panties in a wad and usually you didn’t want to know, anyway. Edwin was another matter, however. Faith wanted to know what soured his usual chipper mood, and if there was a way to alleviate it, she was eager to do so.

He already sat in his chair when she passed through his office door. She didn’t stop or wait or even think for that matter. She walked around the desk and stood behind him, her hands on his shoulders, massaging the tightness in his muscles. “Someone did not have a good morning.”

He let out a deep sigh as he allowed her to work his shoulder muscles, enjoying the attention. “No, someone didn’t.” He was quiet a moment, and then, she heard a deep moan escape his lips. “You really have some talented hands, you know that?”

“So, I’ve been told.”

“Did you do as I instructed?”

She assumed he referred to his no panties order. “Yes, sir.”

He reached around and took her hand in his and pulled her until she stood in front of him, the desk slightly blocking anyone’s view if they were to pass by. He gazed up into her eyes, and she felt herself moisten at the glance. He continued to hold her hand as he glided his other up her thigh and under her dress. She felt her body stiffen, and she had to force herself not to jerk her gaze to the door to see if anyone watched them. He just smiled as if he knew exactly what went through her mind. Knowing Edwin, she assumed he did.

His hand continued until his fingers grazed the satin lips of her pussy lips, the wetness covering his fingers. His smile grew bigger as he slid two fingers into her, slowly pushing them until his bottom knuckle hit her flesh. She bit her bottom lip to keep from crying out, her breath caught in her chest.

“Good girl,” he said as he pumped his fingers slowly, in and out, twirling them inside of her.

She felt her body tense even more, the passion stirring within her as she fought to remain standing. She held herself up with her free hand, bracing her knees, which wanted to buckle and drop her to the floor. “Thank you.” It was a breathy whisper, but it was all she could get out.

“And did you ask about time outside of work?” He continued to finger-fuck her as he spoke. He didn’t even glance at the door to see if anyone watched them. His attention was solely on her, and it sent shivers through her that tingled at every nerve-ending.

“Yes, sir. Selby said it was fine.”

“Good. Then tomorrow night, I want you. You pick the time. But I want you.”

“Yes, sir. I’ll text you after I talk to him, and we pick a time.”

He shoved his fingers in harder a couple of more times before he yanked them from her wetness. He kept his eyes on her as he wiped her juices from his fingers onto her legs. “Good girl. My day has gotten better already. You may go back to work.”

She took a deep breath to steady her knees. “Thank you.” She smiled like a silly schoolgirl with a crush, which is exactly how she felt.

As she turned to leave, she was relieved that the doorway was empty, but who knew if anyone had passed by and saw them. Did she really care at this point? She took a couple of slow steps to allow the nervousness to leave her legs before she walked out of his office, hopefully with a normal gait, and back to the Girls’ Den. Cherish was still there, pounding away at her keyboard. Nessa ruffled through some old files as she listened to her iPod. Normal. At least, this part of the office was predictable.

Faith said nothing. As she slid into her seat, she could still feel the wetness where his fingers had been and even the wetness from her cunt dripping onto her legs. It would not surprise her if a steady stream ran down her legs for people to see at the bottom of her dress. He toyed with her right there in his office. Her eyes flew wide as she remembered she hadn’t even shut the door. A panic settled in as she realized anyone walking by could have heard them even if they hadn’t seen them.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. The whole thing was crazy. Risky. Exciting. And now he would have her all to himself tomorrow night. She couldn’t help but wonder what he planned for her, and she felt her fire get even wetter. Time would drag. She knew it.
