Chapter 20
*IRIS*
I listened to him lecture me about the importance of school, sorta. All I could really do was feel the aftershocks from my orgasms. He made me feel like the sexiest woman alive. He made me feel good on the inside and on the outside. I smiled at him while he talked, and he shook his head at me. "Iris I am serious. I will not be able to continue this relationship if you allow it to affect your career." When he said that I felt my heart sink. "Are you wanting to rid yourself of me professor?" I said more sharply than I intended. He walked over to me and grabbed my chin, roughly, but not violently. "I never want to rid myself of you Iris, but I will be adding a few rules involving school. If you do not make it to your scheduled classes because you want to stay here, or want to be close to me, I won’t allow you here for the next 3 days." I rolled my eyes, and he growled. "Don’t roll your eyes baby girl. That is not something you want to do right now." I giggled and he reached for my hand, smacking the top of it harshly. I moaned out. Why does this stuff make me so hot? He smirked at me, "Next time I am taking you back to the plank, but without the happy ending. Just a solid spanking. Don’t roll your eyes at me." He said, I resisted the urge to roll my eyes again. "What class did you miss today?" he asked, being stern again. I looked down at my phone, "Umm... I think just a general professor. Literature." I shrugged. He smacked my hand again. "All of your classes are important Iris." He said scolding me again. I smiled and nodded. " I know daddy, I know. I will focus more on my schooling. I promise." He wasn’t wrong. I worked hard to make it to where I am. I can’t just fail, because I have this Adonis here ready to take me to his plank anytime, like a sex god pirate. I giggled to myself, and he growled again. "The plank?" He asked and I shook my head no. He smirked and leaned down kissing me gently.
When Deacon pulled up, I walked out to the car slowly, still hesitant on leaving. I got in the car and watched as Ryker shook hands with his driver, and smirked at me, before turning to walk back to his house. I felt sadness stir, but I shook it off. I couldn’t feel that way. I don’t get sad anymore. Deacon smiled at me and started the car to head back to my dorm. "Do you need anything before we hit the university, Iris?" he asked about ten minutes away. I shook my head no. "Okay dear, well I will see you in the morning. I was told to give you some space for the evening." He half laughed when he said it knowing I wasn’t fond of having a babysitter. " I shall miss you friend." I said rolling my eyes as I got out of the car. He laughed loudly as he drove away. Suddenly Mage was in front of me, "Where have you been Iris? I have been so worried about you." She said in a tone that sounded nothing like worry. "I went to the mall and stayed with a friend off campus." I said walking around her to go inside. I was hoping she wouldn’t follow but could hear her huffing and puffing behind me. "Iris, I tried to call you." I felt my pocket mentally checking for my phone. "My phone must be off." I said stopping in front of my door and turning around. "Well, you sure aren’t acting like yourself, are you? Reach out if you need help" she turned dramatically stomping off. She must think I am out getting high, I thought, almost laughing out loud. What I am high on she could never understand. Once inside, I plugged my phone in, and laid on my bed. I heard my phone ring and rolled over to pick it up. Private caller. I didn’t answer. Probably a telemarketer. I don’t need to know about my car’s extended warranty. I laid it down closing my eyes and thinking of the past few days. Flashes of things I still couldn’t quite believe flashed through my mind. My phone started to ring again. "Hello?" The line was silent. "You have called me twice. I don’t have a damn car." I said waiting only seconds before hanging up again. I sat up and pushed the power to my computer. I grabbed my syllabus, and planner, to see what I was behind on. I decided to message Adam, knowing he had the same English Lit class as I did.
Hey I missed class, notes?
-IRIS
I sat down in front of my computer and placed my head in my hands. I was entirely too tired from all my sexscapades to work on this damn schoolwork. Is education more important than sleep? I smiled at the thought, amusing myself. I started to work on my Econ assignment. My phone dinged and Adam promised me he would email me notes after he leaves the gym. Of course, he is at the gym. I rolled my eyes and thanked him for his dependability. Before I could sit my phone down it rang again, Private caller, again. "Hello?" I said rudely this time. "Please don’t call me if you aren’t going to talk" I said irritated. "Hello." The voice was deep. "Who is this?" The voice asked. I didn’t answer. "Lorcane has a new one huh, I will figure you out doll baby" He hung up. Chills covered my body, and I remembered Deacon telling me he "wanted to keep me safe." Why safe? Who was that? What the fuck was he talking about? I called Ryker frantically telling him about the phone call. He was calm, but I could hear the anger intensify in his voice. "What did he call you?" He said confusing me. "Huh? He told me he was going to find me out. What did that mean?" I said sharply. "Iris, baby, calm down. Tell me what he called you?" He said softer than before. "He called me babydoll." I said feeling chills cover my body. "Okay. Listen to me. Just don’t leave your dorm tonight. Deacon will be outside in minutes. Nothing is going to happen to you. That was to scare me. Just don’t go anywhere. I will have Deac bring you dinner soon." He was still trying to sound calm, but I could hear the fear in his voice, adding to the anger. "I don’t think I am hungry." I almost whispered. "Iris, you are safe. You must eat. You are going to be okay baby girl. I promise." He said with more confidence. "Yes daddy." The phrase was now providing me with some comfort. "Good girl." he said softly.
When he hung up the phone I felt utterly alone. I shut the blinds tightly and checked the lock on my dorm door three or four times before sitting down. I walked to the window peeking out between the blind blades. I could Deacon parked outside. I heard my phone ding and jumped off of the floor onto the bed. It was Deacon telling me he could see me stalking him. I sent back a thank you for staying to keep me safe.
Thats my job Iris.
-Deacon
I smiled, feeling a bit better knowing he was close by to watch out for me. He called me asking me what doors lead in and out of the building and I explained all the exits. "Should I be scared Deacon?" I said softly. He told me never to be scared, "Iris, I will protect you with my life, and so will the next to stand up if I get killed. We all owe Ryk more than we can repay, and he would protect you with his." I smiled remembering Ryker’s face. The softness in his eyes when I say something he hasn’t heard before. When he is trying to dominate and I break his character with a giggle, or a smile. I don’t think he is as dangerous as I initially thought almost a week ago in our first class together. I don’t. Why then is this voice suddenly calling my phone. Basically, threatening me. I felt the chills again. "Deacon, who is it?" I asked knowing he would know, but he didn’t give me a straight answer. " I told you Iris, he has enemies, that is why he keeps you safe." When he said it, I remembered that Ryker was a well-known prosecutor. "Is it retaliation for someone he has put away?" I asked still not getting a straight answer. "Just work on your homework Iris, I will keep you safe from out here." Deacon said before hanging up on me. I took a deep breath, slammed down my phone, and went back to my computer. I opened the email from Adam and copied down the notes I missed in literature. I learned that I missed nothing real important. I shook my head, closing my notebook and starting on my Plato paper. I smiled knowing the Professor I was giving this to was inside of me hours ago, but instantly felt overwhelmed. What have I got myself into?
When the door starts shaking, I jump so hard I almost fall out of my chair. "Iris, you have a letter." It’s Mage. I walk to the door and take the paper from her hand trying to thank her nicely. I use small talk to cover the fact that I almost had a heart attack when shook the handle of my door. When she walked away, I shut the door, leaning against it for a moment after locking it. I looked down at the note and it wasn’t in an envelope with a stamp. I unfolded the white paper and read what was inside slowly.
He will take away all your senses.
You will lose yourself in him.
Then he will leave you feeling more alone.
I am going to save you, babydoll.
I drop the note, *babydoll
