Chapter 73 The trip
Alex pov
My pulse picks up as I hit redial, clenching the phone so tightly to my right ear not wanting to miss a thing. Reconsidering I think its best if luca also hears this I put the call on speaker.
“Signore Ferrini” The voice wafts through the phone full of urgency
“Padre?” My voice drops as my heart sinks what is going on now ? I know he will only call if he has news.
“Padre is that you?”
He takes a deep breath “Si ,Signore ferrini ,please listen to me carefully” his voice sounds strained like he just ran a marathon. “We do not have as much time as I thought-”
Luca settles beside me stiffening as his eyes widen with apprehension.
“Did something new happen?”I force the words out calmly stretching my legs in front of me
Padre takes a deep breath “It seems Alessia's awakening has caused quite a stir ! La casa is preparing for her return , I didn't know she was the last princess excuse my oversight Signore”
I hear a rustle from his end then he seems to resume pacing around “The Sirrano’s also came back here the jig is up?
I curse under my breath “Stupido” Without missing a beat I ask “How did you find out about Alessia being the lost princess?”
I knew we could not keep them in the back forever bht i didn't expect them to catch on so soon
My chest tightens as I rub it furiously trying to loosen the knot “Signore I have a witch in their coven she informed me”
“But How did they find things out so fast ,they should not have either-”
“The felt her awaken Signor!” he pauses “Also the other coordinates led them ( SirranosThugs ) to a dead and they turned around quickly and came to Selina immediately”
I sigh leaning back on the chair as he talks “Every witch felt Alessia's awakening, So you have to get a move on .The guide will take you to la casa safely just follow his steps”
I run a hand down my face “I met him already very weird fellow he is waiting in the lobby”
Padre sighs “Thats good , do not move without him”
He pauses for a beat “Signor, I still can't believe she is the lost princess you have to protect her,no matter the costs. He takes a deep breath “Now that she is awakened she is precious and Has been marked”
I gulp “what the hell do you mean by she is marked?” I whisper
The line cracks as if he is about to cut
“She is the last princess”
“The dircet descendant of Natura”
I gasp not putting two and two together “That mesns even if they can't get La Rosa they can kidnap her to attempt to make it .She is not safe anymore”
Luca stares at me as be mutters under his breath “Madre di dios”
My heart sinks in my chest Alessia is going to lose her shit when she finds out .How do I add this to all she has been experiencing lately?
Perhaps I let her coven tell her.
I massage my temples silently
“Padre” I bark at him
“Tell me the truth Will La Casa try and keep her with them?”
He is quiet for a while “Yes they definitely will”
“Shit,” I close my eyes briefly .Nodding I sit up “Okay we need to prepare we are leaving within an hour.”
One more thing Signore his voice sharpens .
“If possible do not let Angelica have a monent with her.”
My eyes snap open immediately “Why the hell not ? Won't that be a bit weird?”
“She will try to convince her to stay back after all that is her coven too ,Besides there are thing she is hiding as well” Geez everyone seems to have ulterior motives.
Luca curses softly
“Padre if there is something you are arr not telling me about her-”
“I am not certain once I confirm-, right now I have to go.”
“Go to La Casa now!”
He pauses again “And Signor Ferrini Always trust your instincts it has never failed you.”
“Especially where the Princess - Alessia is concerned.”
The call disconnects I stare the screen for a moment . Adrenaline racing through me
Luca sits up ,turning to him “Go and get Angelica now.”
He nods getting up immediaty walking quickly down the thr hall to their shared bedroom.
I rise moving for our room remembering Padres words.
She is the lost princess
She is marked
You need to move now!
I reach the door and wait trying to calm my breathing
I need her to remain calm ,The storm has barely begun and She needs clarity. It is vital that she knows she is not walking into danger alone
I open the door gently to find her still sitting on the bed exactly where I left her. Her legs folded on her chest . Eyes staring into nothing with remnants of shock. Her eyes meet mine when she finally hears me stepping into the room
“Alex” her voice is as small as a Baby's , shaken my heart twists .I will protect her with my life that I know is certain .
“Alessia ,we need to go out.” Crouching low I rest my hands on the sides of the bed caging her in.
“I will tell you everything on the way okay?I promise have a quick bath and change, We need to go now.”
Her throat bobs up and down as she swallows. “Is it because my power awakened ? Is something else going on?”
I shake my head gently “Its nothing to worry about,but your coven felt your awakening. they are expecting us.”
I pause for a moment “Do not be worried , we face them together.”
She nods her head slowly this time
“Okay, let me shower”
I rise pulling her with me “I will walk you to the bathroom.”
“Find something comfortable ,we will be travellimg by road and I dont know for how many hours.”
She steps into the bathroom closing the door gently behind her I walk to the other end and grab my gun checking the holster to make sure its loaded.
A gentle knock. At the door “Alex-”
luca calls
“The SUV’s have arrived and Angelica is ready to go .The guide is waiting in entrance lobby.”
I glance at the bathroom door “Okay order some breakfast to go we eat on the way we will join you soon.” I call to him and settle into the single chair to wait for Alessia .I pick up the map again taking one look at our course for the day
“May Dios be with us.” As I close the map up Alessia returns dressed black jeans and a qck fitted top hair in a loose top bun. I get up accepting her luggage as we step out of the room together quietly.I squeeze her hands once then we walk out of our suite locking it behind us.
