Chapter 121

Anna

Back at the mansion, I met a bunch of men outside the gate wearing unusual clothing... They looked like priests and wore strange attire. About three of them stood at the gate with somber expressions.

Levi was behind the gate, yelling at the men to leave

"Is everything okay?" I asked Levi as I needed the gate.

He glared at me with silent hate.

"Get in," he opened the gate and grabbed me inside, pushing me towards the front door of mansion.

"What's going on?" I asked. "Who were those people?"

"Nothing you should concern yourself with," he answered in his usual curt and emotionless voice.

"The hell I won't!" I scratched my legs against the ground, stopping him from pushing me further.

"Who are those people and why do they look like priests?"

Levi sighed in annoyance. He must have realized he wasn't going to win this because in the next second, he spoke,

"They are here to see Duncan,"

"Oh... are they werewolves?"

"They are elders, yes." he answered begrudgingly. Secretive much?

"Oh, what are elders?" I asked.

"Damn it, Anna, go in," he gritted out.
I glanced at the men outside the gate and back at Levi and sighed

"Fine," I said before making my way into the house.
I didn't have time for this anyway
I needed to prepare for tonight.

The mansion was quiet save for a few of men talking in hushed tones in the living room...

"...You think the boss will go back?" One off them said.

"Heavily doubt that," another one spoke

"...But it would be so great to go back and see..."

"Shut up Collin!"

I didn't bother eavesdropping. Whatever it was, I was sure I'd get the info later when it counted. But now, I had other pressing matters to attend to.
I can already feel it. The answers I've always wanted. The destruction of the iron Vine and my legacy.

As I made my way into my room, I placed my briefcase under my bed and took out the clothes I planned on wearing tonight and laid it on the bed.

I'd be going over to Viktor's tomorrow.
He thought we wer going to have sex, he had no idea he was my lamb to the slaughter...

A wicked smile creeped onto my face.
It was all coming together. Everything was coming together. Little by little but surely, I could already see the pieces.

When I was done arranging my clothes.
I carefully tipped toe out of my room and found my way to Duncan's room and down to his basement.

I found my way to his closet and entered the basement where I found another document Aeal had asked for.

It seemed to be incriminating evidence that could be used against him.
I mean, there were old records of money laundering, Racketeering, even trafficking.

Interesting...Very interesting.

I wonder why he didn't keep these things in a safer place.
Well, technically it was safe. I had only found this place but accident but still.
If I had incriminating evidence against me. This basement would be locked with my soul.

None of this mattered to me anyway. Not yet at least.
I looked around for more things around the basement. I found a few my vials containing various liquids. I didn't hesitate to bring some with me.

Once again, I went into that little lab whee the man laid and he was still there. He was breathing but heavily sedated.
I didn't notice before but he was connected to so many monitors.

I checked around for a clue as to what the hell was wrong with him.

But there was nothing. Not a single thing around to give me a clue.

There were a few liquids around the room. Some bottle contained weird herbs and then simple aspirins.

This place was insane. I wondered if anyone else know about this place or it was just Duncan and now me?

The basement was large.

Suddenly a thought ignited in my head. This basement was large maybe it some how led to the West Wing
The wing where I was not allowed to step my foot in...

I noticed a door at the far right of the small lab and made my way to the door.

I grabbed the door knob and twisted and then pulled it back.

It didn't budge.

Hmmm.

Locked.
Interesting...now, they locked it
I scanned around for a key but nothing...
Everything here seemed to either be medical supplies or weird herbal supplies.

I'd have to come back here later.
Hopefully before Duncan comes back...

I left the basement and ran to Duncan's door.
I opened the door and froze on my tracks when I saw Levi coming this way.
I quickly retreated and hid behind the door..
What was he doing here?
I held my breath hoping he passed.
His footsteps became closer and closer. It stopped at the door and I began to search and scratch my head for a lie but just then, his phone rang, startling me.

"Duncan," he said and turned around almost immediately, walking back to her he was coming from.

A sigh of relief escaped me and I thanked God for that insane save.

I waited for at least fifteen minutes before leaving the room.

I tiptoed downstairs and back to my room, panting as soon as I closed the door like I had just ran a marathon...

I didn't waste a single second, I shoved the document in a bag and two hours later, I left the mansion once again for Tim's place, making sure I wasn't being followed.

The men outside the mansion were long gone.

"Be careful," Tim said as I handed him to documen.

"I have no choice but to be. What's the use of coming this far and getting caught,"

Tim smiled but there was an onvisih sadness in his eyes.

"By the way, Alive said you would call her name of you're in trouble."

"Huh?" I frowned.

"I also have no idea what that means but do it anyway,"

"Oh, okay," I nodded and found my way to the Rose velvet.

It was already packed by the the time I got there.
I was about an hour and a half later.

All eyes fell on me as I walked in.

"Anna?" Estonia called out from the bar.

"Hey," I walked towards her with a smile.

"What are you doing bartending?" I asked, watching as she artfully made drinks.

"Sydney is out of town, so, I'm stuck with this. On our busiest night too. I'm a doctor fur crying out loud,"

I chuckled at that.

"I'm sorry. Would you like some help?"

"No! Aren't you supposed to be on bed reset?" She glared.

"I'm fine. Beside, I'm tired of being there all by myself with no friends."
I sighed.

"Is Sabrina giving you more trouble?"

"No. I just needed some fresh air,"

"Alright then. Since you're here, can you balance the books. It's a week out of sync and Duncan will ask for it the moment he arrives."

"Absolutely," i smiled and made my way upstairs.

Room 28 was empty but that didn't matter. In forty five minutes, they would l be here.
I opened the door wide and walked in.
