Chapter 125 Delivering Juice to Ryan

Chapter 125 Delivering Juice to Ryan

[Oh my God! Am I seeing this right? Yvette is coming to River City? And she's going to cosplay as a café waitress? What an amazing surprise!]

[They actually got Yvette and Anna! Rachel, you're really something. I want to be friends with big stars and socialites too.]

[Other schools' anniversary celebrations are so different from my school's. No wonder it's the best private elite high school in the country - they're really loaded.]

[This Doraemon-themed café looks so dreamy and cute! The apron on the waitress uniform even has a pocket to put gifts for customers - so thoughtful.]

[By the way, the uniforms they're wearing are custom-made by The Thorn Birds, right? No wonder they look so good.]

[The Williams Group actually sponsored a million dollars - big companies really have deep pockets!]

[All proceeds from the event will be donated to children left behind in remote mountain villages. That's so heartwarming - those kids will definitely be grateful to them!]

The comment section was completely harmonious.

That's because any comments criticizing Rachel or mentioning the piano competition were instantly deleted and blocked by Rachel's Instagram manager.

A few days ago, there was the scandal about Rachel stealing music at the piano competition. In the end, the organizers vaguely explained it away on Twitter as a misunderstanding.

But they said to avoid controversy, when they finally announced the rankings, they still excluded Rachel. The first place still went to Amelia.

Smart people could figure out what was really going on.

If it was really just a misunderstanding, they should have explained everything clearly and given Rachel second place if she deserved it. Why exclude her from the rankings?

Rachel, who should have gotten second place, now had no ranking at all because of a "misunderstanding." How could she be willing to accept that?

It was obvious there was something going on behind the scenes that they didn't know about.

Like maybe Rachel really did steal Amelia's piece, but the organizers were pressured to call it a misunderstanding to save her face and give her a chance to continue in the piano world.

But most people just believe whatever they hear, especially those who follow the crowd without their own opinions.

For Rachel, this meant losing the Aurora College talent recruitment spot, which might even go to Amelia instead. How could she not be jealous?

Ever since Amelia was brought to River City, no matter what happened, Amelia stole all the spotlight that should have belonged to her. How could she swallow that?

Rachel was now obsessed - she was willing to do anything as long as she could beat Amelia.

Like this anniversary fair.

Could she really not think of a better idea than Amelia's themed café?

Not at all.

She was simply jealous and spiteful, determined to make Amelia and her friends miserable.

Why post on Instagram on Friday night? Because everyone would be setting up on the field Saturday and Sunday.

If Amelia's team didn't want to be accused of copying their idea, they'd have to change themes at the last minute.

Then everything they'd already bought would be wasted, and time would be super tight. Whatever they ended up with definitely wouldn't turn out well.

Meanwhile, on her side, everything was carefully prepared.

Most importantly, she got Yvette!

Rachel and Yvette were just casual friends. Yvette only maintained the relationship because she was Ryan's sister.

Rachel knew this, so when inviting Yvette, she said straight up - if she came to help, she'd invite her to visit the Martinez mansion.

Ryan was home on vacation right now, so if she came over, she could see Ryan.

Yvette immediately agreed and promised to help Rachel promote their event.

So Rachel trending this time was purely because Yvette reposted her Instagram post.

Although Yvette just reposted it with a simple caption [Looking forward to it.], the likes, reposts, and comments still added up to over a million.

After all, she was really hot right now.

Yvette was originally at most a B-list celebrity in the entertainment industry. She was pretty good-looking, but her acting wasn't great.

So even though she'd played female leads in several dramas before, there wasn't much positive feedback. Her fans liked her for her looks.

But she had to admit, she was very lucky.

She was previously chosen by a director to co-star with Ryan in an idol drama, playing the female lead. The show went viral when it aired six months ago, and her popularity skyrocketed with it.

The show's success was completely thanks to Ryan.

First of all, Ryan was just too handsome.

So handsome that in the entertainment industry, people could argue about anything except Ryan's looks - fans and casual viewers all agreed he was the gold standard of good looks.

Even if his acting was terrible, countless fans would watch the entire show frame by frame just for his face. Not to mention he was the youngest Best Actor in history, with impeccable acting skills.

And because she was paired with Ryan, Yvette also showed the most professional attitude she'd ever had. In the show, you could actually say she acted pretty well.

The show had high-value actors and everyone's acting was solid, so there were rave reviews online. Plus with Ryan's already huge fanbase, the show hit 100 million views on its first night.

Yvette naturally became a big star.

Even now, Yvette and Ryan had tons of couple shippers online.

However, in reality, Yvette hadn't even managed to add Ryan on WhatsApp.

As soon as filming wrapped, Hugo came over and said Ryan didn't want any private contact with any female stars in the industry, and wouldn't do bundled promotions or hype up couple rumors with any female stars.

If they did anything like that, Ryan wouldn't work with her again.

So Yvette had to swallow the words she wanted to say about getting his contact info.

Yvette fell hopelessly in love with Ryan the first time they filmed a scene together.

How could a man in real life be that good-looking?

Every gesture gentlemanly and noble, his bedroom eyes that were lazy yet full of warmth. One look from him would make your heart race and your head spin.

But as soon as the director yelled cut, the man in front of her would instantly become expressionless. The affection in his eyes would vanish, leaving only cold distance and coolness.

He was like two different people on and off camera. But the colder Ryan was, the more Yvette couldn't forget him.

If she could really visit the Martinez mansion, wouldn't she have a chance to get close to Ryan? Just thinking about it made her heart pound.

Thinking this way, helping Rachel work as a server at the school anniversary event was nothing, so she agreed right away.

Just as Dorian was getting more and more angry reading the comments, Ryan, sitting on the carpet in front of his bed with messy chestnut hair playing video games, got a call from Hugo.

"Hello?" Ryan tilted his head, wedging his phone between his right cheek and shoulder, responding lazily.

"It's me," Hugo said on the other end. "I'm calling to remind you that Yvette is going to River City next Wednesday."

Ryan stared at the screen absentmindedly and replied coldly, "What does her coming to River City have to do with me?"

"Your fans all know you're home on vacation right now. Yvette coming to River City at this exact time could easily give those gossip accounts something to write about."

"This Yvette keeps telling fans she likes you, that she's your fan, being all ambiguous about it. Don't know if she's trying to create hype or if she's really interested in you."

"She and your couple shippers are acting crazy - they can ship you two together even with zero interaction. If they see you two meeting privately, they'll probably lose it."

"Although she doesn't have your contact info and there's no way you'd meet her or anything, I'm still worried you might run into each other in River City. Anyway, just avoid her."

Hearing Hugo's words, Ryan's expression got even colder. He asked, "What's she coming to River City for?"

Hugo said on the phone, "You don't know? Rachel invited her. I think next Wednesday their school is having some kind of anniversary event."

Anniversary event?

Ryan put down his game console.

Prestige High School's anniversary event - if Rachel was participating, wouldn't Amelia be participating too?

Just then, someone knocked on the door outside. Ryan heard Amelia's voice from outside: "Ryan, Kevin asked me to bring you some juice."
