Chapter 89
Jessica’s POV (2 months later)
The last two months have been a whirlwind. Laurence has started crawling everywhere; and getting his hands on everything he can put in his mouth. Nanna Yvette, Olivia, Cathy, Bindi, Cherie, Debbie and I have been busy designing the costume shop, next to our children’s clothes shop. We have made different fairy, pirate, clown and other costumes. Toby and Olivia even requested a Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, matching costumes to wear for the ball.
Debbie and I got help from some young omega’s, who wanted to learn how to sew and do makeup. We partitioned off a part of the costume shop as a makeup section; and purchased another 15 sewing machines and overlockers; extending our sewing room. All up; we are teaching 26 Omega’s what to do.
I sent out invitations to all the prides, clans and packs in the community. I also extended the invitation to the Sapphire Pack, Shining Pride, Fungua Pride, White Coven and Light Coven. They have all excepted to come. We have reserved the hotel over the next three days for them. They have booked it out solid; with our guest rooms also being used.
Simone told us; two months was perfect to prepare for the big celebration; we wanted to give her time to prepare this time. We will have a kid’s corner; Omega Carly has organised. They have been working around the clock to get everything organised.
“What time are the guests arriving?” Alex asks me, from the bathroom. “They will start arriving around 10” I answer. “Great” he says coming out of the bathroom in his concierge suit. I look at him and giggle; “are Toby and Tim in bellboy uniforms again?” “Yeah, Tim said Eden couldn’t keep her hands off him, the last time.”
“I should get my front desk uniform ready then” I laugh at him. “We have a few extra helpers today. Yvette, Renee and Sam will be on front desk with you, Olivia and Eden; Harvey and Ben are helping as Bell boys; Seth and Brian will be extra valets.” “With the party tomorrow night, we are going to be very busy, over the next few days” I chuckle at him; grabbing my uniform and heading to the bathroom.
“Laurie, Daddy’s buttons don’t belong in your mouth” I hear Alex sing out, as a knock comes on the door. “Mum; he’s bottom teeth have finally cut through” he tells Leanne. “I’m almost done” I call out of the bathroom. “No need to rush” Leanne calls back. I come out of the bathroom; “Are you ok, Mum?” I ask her. “Yeah; just nervous with all the guests coming. It’s been a while since I saw Joanna; I heard she is still anxious about going out with her friends” she says. “Silias said she couldn’t wait to see you” Alex tells her. She smiles at him, “I can’t wait to see her too.”
“I better get this little fella to nursery, so Mummy and Daddy can pretend they work at a hotel” she chuckles; picking Laurie up and heading out the door. “Ready to go down?” Alex asks me. “Ready” I answer.
“Did Carly speak to you, regarding wolfy rides for the older kids?” I ask Alex as we walk towards the hotel. “Yes; why do I get the feeling you had something to do with that?” I give him; my most innocent look, I could muster. “Me; why would I do that?” I smirk at him. In truth; Carly asked Liv and I, if we had any ideas for the kid’s corner at the ball. We told her Alex was shifting into Jonas and going as a zombie wolf and might be open to the idea of giving the kids a ride.
“Because you are a bitch; always like throwing Toby and I to the sharks” he says to me. “I said it before and I will say it again. Thank you; glad you noticed” I laugh at him; as we reach the hotel.
“We still have 15 minutes before the guests arrive” he tells me. “I don’t think so” I say back to him; watching the first car roll into the valet station. We quickly race in through the doors and head to the front desk.
“Mr and Mrs Watson; so good to see you again” Cameron says taking Bronson’s keys. “I know what’s in my car, young man” he says with a chuckle; “it’s good to see you too, Cam” Judy smiles at him. “Tim, Toby; my bags if you please” Bronson calls out.
“Mr Watson; you will be staying in room 268; here’s your door key. If you follow Timothy, he will take you to your room on the 8th floor” Samantha tells him. “I’m Toby;” Timothy answers. “Nice try, Tim. I got Liv and Eden to mark the uniforms so we know who is who” she smirks at him. Bronson and Judy giggle as Tim puts his head down and walks to the elevator.
“They got you both working here, too” Judy asks Sam. “It’s temporary mum; we all wanted to be here to greet everyone” Samantha explains. “How are the children, Renee?” she smiles; “we are all still grieving, but we are fine” she tells her. Judy gives Renee and Sam a hug and heads over to the elevators where Tim and Bronson were waiting.
“Hendrix, Alyssa” Olivia yells, racing over to them to give them a hug. “How are you going, Olivia?” Hendrix asks. “Great; and this must be Christopher” she says smiling. “Can I play on my laptop now, Dad” he huffs. “Your room is 129 on the 5th floor. Here is your room key and I will get Ben to get your bags” Liv smiles at them; as they take the key and head to the elevators.
“Nonna Francesca; Beck didn’t tell us you were coming?” I say to her. “I wanted to surprise her and Coby; I called Alex and he fit me in, last minute” she informs us. “Let me have a look;” I say to her, scanning the computer in front of me. “Here you are, room 332; top floor; Toby do you mind?” I beam. “Not at all; Madam” he says, extending his elbow for her to take it. “Beck, I know you aren’t in the mood for surprises; but one just walked in the door of the hotel for you” I mind link her. “Tell Nonna, I will be there as soon as I Coby gets back from training with Master Joe” she links back. “How did you know it was Nonna?” “Because Alex can’t keep a surprise to save his life” she giggles.
“Yvette” Joanna sings out. “Joanna; how are you?” Yvette greets Joanna and Silias. “I’m really good; this is my mum, Carole” she introduces. “Please to meet you, Carole; I have heard a lot about you” Yvette says to her smiling. “And I have of you, Cynthia, Gilda, Leanne and Sophia. I want to thank each of you for taking care of my baby” she says. “We did what we could; she was a pleasure to have with us at a difficult time” Yvette tells Carole, giving Joanna a hug. “You will be in room 136 on the 5th floor; Harvey” Renee calls out to him.
“This is a lot of work” Alex says; sitting on the sofa. “You haven’t done, squat” I fume at him. “Yes, I have; I’ve mingled and talk to the guests” “Have you shown any to their rooms?” I ask him. “Not yet; I’m waiting for the VIP guests to arrive. I have one going in the presidential suite and one going in the executive suite” he informs us. “And who are these VIP guests?” Rami calls out from the doorway. “You’ll see, shouldn’t be long before they arrive” he smirks at us.
**“Jonas; Celeste; who is he talking about?”** I ask our wolves. **“We have been sworn to secrecy. We can’t tell”** Jonas replies. **“This, he can keep a surprise. Nonna coming; he can’t” “That’s because this is his surprise”** Celeste comments. “This darn computer; he even put Alex’s special guest 1 and 2 in there, and stop smirking at me” I yell at him.
The first special guest arrives; in walks Gerry and Amelia. “Welcome to the Leader’s Retreat Hotel” Rami says opening the door for him. “So, this is what you wanted to do with our building. I must say; it is very different from what it was before” Amelia comments. “We wanted to include all the different colours of our community. 12 floors; 12 different colours. The lobby is gold, then, going up each floor; we have bronze, yellow, red, green, orange, blue, silver, grey, black, brown and top floor; white” Alex tells her.
Samantha and Renee; give Gerry and Amelia a hug; “here is your room key; you will be staying on the top floor in the executive suite” Renee says. “I will show you to your room; Tim, Ben you’re with me” Alex says; heading to the elevator.
“Did you know Gerry and Milly, were coming?” I asked Renee. “Didn’t you? Alex can’t keep a surprise to save his life” she chuckles. “Unless it’s from me” I say under my breath.
“Then who’s the last guest; in the presidential suite?” I ask; the frustration showing on my face. “You will see when they come” Alex says returning from the top floor. “It’s me” Elsa Matthews says behind me. “Grandma; Granddad didn’t mention you were coming” Olivia beams. “I wanted it to be a proper surprise; we didn’t even tell Alex” she laughs.
“Does mum know?” she asks. “No and you aren’t going to tell her, either” she warns. “You will be in the presidential suite; Toby, Harvey can you take their bags to their room please” Yvette says with a smile. “I’ll show you to your room” Alex says. “I’m coming” Olivia chimes in; linking her arms with Elsa and Ezra.
“Well, this has been a fun day; I need to get home to Jordie and Casey” Renee says. “It certainly was; I should pick Hope up from Nursery” Eden says. “We need to get Laurie too” Alex says coming back into the lobby. “We’ll see everyone tomorrow night” Rami calls out from the doorway.
“See you then” I chime; walking out the door.
