Chapter 70
Tobias’ POV
“Becky and Cody really did a number on Cathy, the bruises she came back with; Adrian wanted to beat the living shit out of both of them” I say to Alex over the phone.
“Do you think Richard bought Cathy’s explanation?” he asks. “She said it was hard to say; both her and Samantha thinks so; she played dumb about the Lace; saying she didn’t know what dress trimming had to do with defending the territory.” Alex laughs; “I can see how they may think we don’t know anything about the drugs now.”
He continues; “anyway; Master Joe has handpicked some warriors; they are heading to you now. We will do the swap over so you can come back and see Vette and Josie. Mum and Aunty Gil are going with them; they want to see how Aunty Cyndy is doing; and they want to meet Cody.”
“Who’s coming back with me?” I ask him. “I’ll leave that up to you. We will do another swap over in a few weeks” he tells me. “I’ll see you in a couple of days” I say and hang up the phone.
“Who’s coming?” Olivia asks me. “Mum, Dad, and Leanne; with some warrior’s, dad handpicked following behind them. He didn’t say how many; we are to go home when he gets here and it’s up to us to choose who goes with us. I’m not sure yet; but I think Nath, Debbie, Cathy and Ads should be among them.”
“Rebecca, Christian and Bindi should too; they came here first with us; the rest can follow in a couple of days” she says; “Leanne wants to meet Cody; I will ask Rebecca if she wants to stay for a few more days or come home with us. If she comes back; we will have to bring Cody with us.”
Tim thought it was a good idea and is swapping over with his warriors and Master trainer as well “Is Mum coming with the grey moon pack?” Olivia asks; “I don’t think so; she is busy with Hope and the twins” I tell her. “She’s coming to help Cynthia and Sophia; she called Tim yesterday and he couldn’t talk her out of it” Eden says to us.
I sit down on the sofa in the common room; I can’t wait to see the girls. It’s been almost two weeks since we left; we decided to do; two weeks on; two weeks off, schedule. And now we know the territory has a spell on it; I’m glad we decided that. “How is Aunty Cyndy doing?” Olivia asks, sitting next to me. “She got the results; her and Dr Spencer are working tirelessly through the database to find who is producing the drug components of it” I tell her.
“How long will it take?” Alister asks from a bench chair. “They said it could be a few more weeks yet. Because of the two drugs they combined; and a lot of the ingredients are the same they have to narrow it down to find the exact two. They both said they are getting close though” I say, giving them a frown.
“I hope it is; this place is giving me the willies” Alister says. “We do the swap over shortly Al; you will be going home soon” I tell him.

Leanne’s POV
We get to the Fungua Pride Territory; when Alex and Jess told me there was a lot of anxiety in the air; I didn’t realise how much until we got here. **“We can’t always prepare for these things, Lee”** Alison says to me. **“I know; I wasn’t expecting it to be so think in the air.”**
Joe, Gil and myself get out of the car and go inside the safehouse; the warriors were coming in a separate car and are an hour away.
I look over to the main pride house and narrow my eyes; **“I wonder if that is Richard, we’ve heard about”** Alison voices **“Probably, he’s standing outside the main pride house. If I had to hazard a guess, yes”** I answer her. “Aunty Lee” Nathanial and Adrian come down the stairs to greet me. “Hi boys; you all ready to go home?” “Yes” they both answer in unison.
“I’ll show you all to your room; we are on the third floor” Adrian says; picking up my bags for me. Joe and Gil follow me up with their luggage. We are followed up the stairs by Olivia and Toby who have come out of a room on the bottom floor. “Mum, Dad” Olivia screams; running into their outstretched arms. “I think someone’s missed us” Joe chuckles. “Hi Mum, Dad, Leanne” Toby says, coming up from behind to give Gil and myself a hug.
“Aunty Lee; you will be staying in Alex and Jess’ room; Uncle Joe, Aunty Gil, you will be staying in Toby and Olivia’s room.” Adrian tells us. “Where’s Cyndy?” I ask. “Mum is in her room; down the hall” Nathanial tells me. Adrian puts my bags in my room and takes me to see Cynthia.
I open Cynthia’s door; her and Sophia look up. “Leanne” she smiles and I go inside. “How are you both going?” I ask them. “We have narrowed it down to half a dozen possibilities for both lots of drugs. We are close” Cynthia says to me. “That’s not what I meant” I laugh. “Other than 20 hours a day of research for the last week; we are doing ok” Sophia giggles. “I haven’t done this much cramming since I was at University” Cynthia adds chuckling.
“If you ladies need help; Gil, Yvette and myself are your reinforcements” I smile.
Three more sets of fresh eyes will help the ladies. “How about we say goodbye to the children and we can get stuck into helping you” I say to them.
They look at me; shutting the computers down. “I need to check on Beatrice and Paxton, anyway. You go say goodbye to Cathy and Nathanial” Sophia says to Cyndy walking out of the room.
Cyndy and myself head out of the room “So tell me about Cody?” I laugh; we walk through my room to a living room connected to four of the rooms and a shared bathroom. “Cody; this is Alex’s mum, Leanne” Cyndy says. “I’ve heard a lot about you” I smile at the dark hair gentleman sitting on the sofa next to Rebecca. “What’s Alex said about Cody?” Rebecca laughs “Nothing bad; I promise you. I’d kick his ass if he did.”
“We’ll be going in ten minutes” Toby announces through the door. “I guess, we should say our goodbyes” I say as we all head out to the hallway.
