Chapter 15

Jonathon’s POV

Taking the last bite off my plate; I'm stalling to leave the dining hall. I look over at Olivia, who has been waiting patiently for me to finish so we can head up to her parents room. I can’t tell Jessica or Alex what Mr and Mrs Cleary want to discuss with me. They will never let me hear the end of it. ‘You need to get mating advice from your in-laws’. It will be excruciating. “I’m ready to go” I say to Liv picking up both of our plates. “See you tomorrow” Olivia says to Alex and Jess. “Night” they say in unison.

We go up to the 3rd floor to Gilda and Joseph’s room. We reach the door and I hesitate to knock. I know what they want to discuss and I am not sure I am comfortable talking about my love life with my in-laws. "It's not going to be as bad as you think," the annoyance in her voice coming through crystal clear. "Alright, alright" I surrender and knock on the door. “It’s open” we hear Gilda call out.

I open the door for us to walk in; Liv pulls my hand to get me in over the threshold. “Hi Mr and Mrs Cleary” I announce, stumbling through the door, trying to look casual. Gilda, comes over to us and gives each of us a kiss on the cheek. “You don’t need to be so formal with us. Your family now. Call me Mum.”

“Ok, Mum. What is it you want to discuss?” I ask sitting down on the sofa. Olivia takes a seat next to me and picks up my hand to hold; giving me one of her radiant smiles that sparkle through her green eyes.

“Olivia is upset about what happened the other night. A witch normally gets their powers around 16 and is trained to use them. In Livvy’s case…,” she trails off. I finish the sentence; “In Livvy’s case, Dad took her before she got them.” A tear trickled down her face as she stuttered “y-yes.” Olivia said Gilda took her and Jessica’s kidnapping pretty hard. She said ‘dad was telling me, she went into a deep depression; he couldn’t get her out of it. He said you spoke to her and she started to get better.’

I remember the phone call; *“Hey Alex what’s up?” answering the call on my phone. “Jon, I have Gil here, Olivia’s mum. She wants to talk to you” he said. “Ok” I tell him, a bit taken aback; I hear a lady’s voice on the other end “hello;” she sounds like she has been crying. “Hello, Mrs?” I say, realising I don’t know Olivia’s last name. “Cleary, Alex said I was Olivia’s mum?”*

*“Yes” I say as she let's out a sniffle, “I need to know my little girl is doing, ok?” I take a moment to compose my answer; “I’m not going to lie to you Mrs Cleary; the pack are treating Olivia like a slave” she lets out a sob and I proceed, “I don’t like it and I made a promise to her and Jessica, I will protect them as best as I could. I make sure they are fed and don’t get hurt. I can’t say I have completely stopped the rest of the pack from hurting her, on the most part she is fine.” “Is she happy?” she questions. “As happy as someone been taken against their will, can be.” She sniffles again; what can I do to make her see she is ok? I think for a moment, "how about I send some photo’s through of her?” I suggest. “Could you?” she says, sounding slightly happier. “Leave it with me” I tell to her.*

I started taking photos and sending them to Alex’s phone. I made sure they were of her and Jessica smiling, so she wouldn’t worry.

“It’s ok, Mum” I smile at her; patting her on the arm. “Livvy told me about what had happened and why it happened. I am just worried it will happen again” “This is why we want to discuss it with you” Joseph says coming over to sit by Gilda. “I thought if I share my experience, you will see everything will be fine.”

I look at Olivia, she starts to giggle quietly. Narrowing my eyes; this should be interesting. “Fine” I sigh, looking at Joseph.

“I first met Gilly when she was visiting from the Light Coven. Alpha Laurence had asked for assistance from the witch’s council to help put protections around the Desert Moon borders. We knew instantly we were destined mates; Nelson went all gooey on me.” “And Joe’s aura kept pulling me to him” Gilda adds.

Joseph continues he’s story; “I got the brain-storm idea to mate before she had to leave. She, like Liv had some uncontrollable nerves. We were kissing and getting quite intimate, I pulled her close to me; she reached around my waist and grabbed my rear. Well,” he paused looking at Gilda, then continued “unbeknownst to me; she can burn people when feeling nervous or threatened. As the nerves kicked in, when her hands hit my ass, she burnt each cheek with a hand print.”

“Are you kidding me?” I asked trying to hold in the laughter. Olivia and Gilda are already in fits of laugher; Joseph stares at them, unamused. “I kid you not, my son” he replies, his face was expressionless. How can he keep a straight face, telling this story. “Us Werewolves heal quite quickly; there must have been something within the magic of her touch because I couldn’t sit down for a week.” I just lost it, I thought I was going to piss my pants. Olivia and Gilda were now sitting together holding onto each other for support and Tyler; he was uncontrollable in my mind. “I swear; every time you tell this story Joe, it gets funnier” Gilda laughs.

“It wasn’t funny” he growls. “Sorry Joe” I chuckle, “it is.” “Can I finish my story?” A grimace crossing his face. “What there’s more? Did she burn the front part as well?” I mutter; in between bursts of laughter. “I’m so glad you find my pain so amusing.”

“Yes, uh hum, sorry,” I say; clearing my throat to contain my laughter again.

“Sorry Dad” Olivia says, also trying to stop laughing. “Good! Gilda was so embarrassed she took off back to the light coven immediately. Once I was able to leave a week later” “that’s because you couldn’t walk ‘til then” Olivia interrupts, laughing uncontrollably again. “Yeah, yeah” Joseph says sternly. “I followed her. When we were mating, I talked to Gil to calm her nerves and we got through it. No more burns.”

“Did you know about this?” I asked Olivia stifling my chuckles. “Yes, Mum and Dad told me from an early age. Figuring I had a wolf and I hadn’t electrocuted anyone before, I didn’t have the witch side of me. Turns out, I have both.”

“What Joe is saying” Gilda says through giggles, “if you talk through with Livvy what you are doing as it’s happening; she will be at ease and you will be able to…. you know” she winks.

**“As long as my family jewels stay intact; I will be fine”** I remark to Tyler, **“Let’s do what Mumma says and talk to Livvy, our family jewels, as you call it, will come away unsinged.”**
