Inside the torture room, James trembled, yet he refused to yield.
He held onto the hope that his uncle had indeed answered that call from the officer.
His nose was broken and blood was gushing out from his mouth and ear.
With blood still in his mouth, he spat at Henry.
"How dare you, loser."
Henry was furious. He grabbed the knife from Jaxon and stabbed James in the arm.
"Now I'll kill you."
"Instead of this jerk to start apologizing and beg for forgiveness he is still asking for more trouble." One of the policemen said.
"Surely he has given up on life already."
"What do you expect from a nobody?"
Despite the brutal beating from Jaxon, Henry, and the two officers, James remained unafraid. Instead, he started smiling.
"What's wrong with him?"
"He's demented, Can't you see?"
He scanned their faces one more time. He needed to make sure he remembered it.
"You won't get away with this. Once I'm out of here, all four of you, Jaxon, Henry, and you two officers, will face the consequences for what you've done."
In reality, all the police officers in that station would face his wrath, except for the one who had promised to help him call his uncle.
They were all stunned as he spoke bravely.
They wondered how hopeful he was, thinking he would get out of here.
His fate has been sealed already, they had planned to kill him after torturing him to Jaxon's satisfaction.
"You've got guts, right?"
"And who said you're coming out of this place?" Henry said, stabbing him on the other arm."
James groaned in pain. "Ahhhhhh!"
Jaxon finally got up and walked toward James, taking the sharp knife from Henry. He slightly raised James' head up and gently moved the dagger across his face.
"James!" He said in a murderous tone "I will break you until every last bit of you is destroyed. And then you will beg me to kill you."
"Go f**k yourself."
Jaxon slashed the dagger across James's face and immediately blood started gushing out.
"Ahhhhhhhhh!" James yelled in pain and tried to free himself, but his arms and legs were tied up, and his hands were in handcuffs.
"You will be sorry for what you are doing to me."
Another slash!
Another wound appeared across the other side of James' face.
Jaxon kept putting several marks on his face, and soon his face was covered in blood and wounds.
"Let's end him, right away," Jaxon said, raising his hand in an attempt to stab him in the chest.
Just immediately, the other officer who once tried to help James call his uncle came back in through the front door.
James saw him and wondered what he came to do.
He only wished that he had called his uncle.
"Is the son of a b*tch not giving in yet?" He asked them pretending to be on their side.
Jaxon stopped in his tracks.
"Yes."
"He must have got some nerves. Now listen, I want you to confess to the crimes or I do something you'll regret. Something terrible." He said to James.
James was surprised.
This was the man who once tried to help him call his uncle a moment ago, now he is trying to do something terrible."
Unknown to James, the officer really meant him good.
He has been eavesdropping on their conversations ever since and just came in to prevent Jaxon from stabbing James on the chest.
Jaxon relaxed a bit. He swore he would have killed James off immediately if this other officer had not come in just now.
He wanted to kill him and blamed that James committed suicide himself.
But he couldn't do it in the presence of this new officer who wasn't part of the plan.
The new officer secretly gave James a thumbs up and he understood immediately and calmed down.
The thumbs up was to let James know that he had called his uncle but he wasn't sure when his uncle would arrive to bail him.
So, right now they needed to stay put and delay Jaxon's evil intentions.
James knew that if the officer really called his uncle and he picked up then that meant he would be out here in a matter of moments.
"You have no idea what's coming your way, Jaxon," James said.
Jaxon was enraged.
How dare he be under his mercy and still talk carelessly to him.
"Doesn't this scumbag know who the Sterlings are?"
"This fellow must be sick in the head."
James continued.
"And you Henry, one of the things I'd do to you is beat you up like a baby. Just like I did the last time we met."
"This pauper got some nerves."
"We shall see who the pauper is."
"Finally to you two corrupted officers…"
"How dare you…"
"Calm down, I'm still talking," James interrupted him. "Both of you will rot in jail. I will make sure about that."
And with that, he began to laugh to the surprise of the officers.
"Hahaha!"
His laugh was interrupted by a loud noise outside.
Everyone in the room began to panic as to what was causing the noise outside.
Except for James whose laugh intensified further.
He knew exactly what was happening. His great uncle is finally here.
"And why are you laughing, jerk?"
"Judgment is upon us, my friends," James said.
This pissed off Jaxon so much that he picked up the knife from where it was and tried stabbing James again.
"Don't you dare!" The door kicked open as he was about to stab James.
Jaxon's hand froze in the air as he realized who just said that.
It was Lana Wane, the daughter of Ryan Wane.
One of the richest tycoons in the business industry and a descendant of the super-rich family of Emerald Falls.
At the young age of 20, Lana Wane single-handedly built Lana Elegance Models and Beauty (L E M B) one of the biggest beauty and model companies in Emerald Falls.
Jaxon had always had a crush on her but couldn't approach her because she was way out of his class.
The Sterling family is nothing compared to the Wanes.
'What could she be doing here?' he wondered.
Two minutes ago, a convoy of company cars had pulled up outside the police station, encircling the area.
The officers thought that a very big person was coming to see the Superior.
But were more surprised when they discovered that it was Lana Wane.
The employees from the company were puzzled by this unexpected visit to the police station as well.
They had expected that the new owner of the company would be at the airport or perhaps a luxurious hotel in Emerald Falls.
Some even speculated that he might have come here to hire additional security services.
After all, wealthy individuals often sought extra security.
Even Alisha was shocked.
'If Lana is not even the new owner of the company but just a mere CEO, then the new CEO must be a bigger shot.'
She couldn't wait to see who he was.
Lana Wane, quickly requested to meet with the Chief of Police in that department.
"I need to see who is in charge now!"
When The Chief of Police, Chief Lloyd was summoned he was shocked to see the beautiful Lana Wane.
Fear gripped him and he tried to compose himself.
'Welcome, Madam. Make yourself comfortable."
Lana was getting upset already.
How could she make herself comfortable when James is in trouble?
She managed to control her rage.
"How can we be of service to you, Madam?"
"Take me to the man you arrested this morning."
The Chief's heart nearly melted.
The only arrest they made this morning was the son of a nobody.
And it was an illegal arrest requested by the Sterlings.
'What connections does she have with that petty thief?'
"He's a criminal, madam. I'm not sure you have anything to do with criminals."
"I demand to see him."
Chief Lloyd led the way to the room where James was kept.
"This way," The Chief directed.
Lana asked all the employees to follow behind her.
No one knew what to expect as they quietly followed behind her.
With his guidance, they opened the door of the room and saw an injured James tied to a chair and Jaxon with a knife in hand about to stab him.
"Don't you dare!" Lana screamed as she caught sight of James.
"Hello, Sir!" She ran towards James.
Everyone was confused as they thought about what their relationship could be.
"Hello," James said in a low voice. "What took you so long?"
"What?" Alisha said almost in a whisper "This is not real…"
