Emma's pov
As i slowly closed my eyes, Rexy angry shouts reached my ears. This time, my soul didn't exit my body although I felt as if paralyzed, i could hear everything going everything going on around me.
None of you is leaving here alive today.!”
I heard Rexy thunder and couldn't help but smirk. “That rat.! Who does he think he is.? I wish i can just get up and finish off his smelly ass.!” I screamed within myself but felt utterly powerless.
When Reno picked me up, my fluttered but i couldn't react. Feeling ashamed of my feelings, i tried not to think and replenish my energy level. But it seemed Rexy wasn't the one to give up. When i began to feel that surge of energy, i knew he's pulling on his ultimate move.
Just when I thought it was over, selah saved us just in time and we made it back to the pothole just in time. I wished I could open my eyes to see the much talked about hell. Although I couldn't see it, the atmosphere here was definitely very different from earth. Anybody will feel it immediately.
Still lost in my thoughts, someone suddenly shouted. “Is that the princess in his arms.? She has grown so big.”
“She's really beautiful. Looking like the princess of light indeed”
“I heard she's human.”
“Impossible.! How can the princess of light be human.? She only up in the human world.”
Hearing all complaints and compliments, my narcissistic feelings kicked in immediately. “Of course I'm a princess, i ought to be beautiful.! Soon I'll rule over all of you” i felt like shouting in their faces.
Suddenly, I felt the air freeze around me. It was as if every living thing seized to breath. “this person is not ordinary” i mused to myself, then i heard Reno call him father.
“The devil.!..!
I screamed in my head, but i couldn't move. I felt really frustrated.
“I've brought her back father” said handing me over. “the human world has almost taken over her. She has a long way to go.” i heard him say taking my wrist.
“Her energy level is weak too. Take her to the hospital. She needs to be treated like a human until she can fully swich.” i heard him order.
“No.! No.! Don't lock me away. I can fight, make flowers bloom, summon the spirit of light.!” I wished I could jump to my feet and shout this. But instead, i was carefully dropped in an air conditioned car and we drove off.
I felt the wind rushing by as we sped, different vibes and scents as we passed. I'm already in love with this bustling city.. or world. I really can't wait to open my eyes and take in its beauty.
After an unknown period of time, the sleek car finally came to stop. I heard doors opening and slamming.
Reno..!” A sing voice called out and my heart flew from my chest into my mouth in shock.
I suddenly heard a torrent of kisses, each one making my heart tighten more. Finally, It stopped but i felt disappointment, at a disturbing rate.
“ I missed you so so much my baby boy” she said happily and the kisses began to rain again, but no matter how hard i tried for a tear to fall, it betrayed me.
“Charline talked about you everyday” i heard his mom say. “Yea how won't she talk about him everyday. Afterall he's the prince and one of the hottest guy in the kingdom. Every bitch will surely talk about him” i couldn't help but sneer surprised by how much I'm getting jealous over Reno.
“Its just a normal feeling” i tried deceiving myself but my heart tightened again.
“He's really tired honey. The human world was such a dangerous place” his mom said trying to make peace, obviously.! With that bitch..!!!
“My dad is planning on a date for our wedding” she suddenly said and i felt my heart stop.
“What.?.!
We coincidentally screamed simultaneously and i felt myself sinking into dispair. “Don't you love me anymore Reno honey.? Have you fallen for a human.?” i heard the boot licker whine like a little puppy.
“Of course he doesn't love you.! Why do you want to force him into marrying you and staring at your puny, reeky and saucy face every God dammed day.?” I swore vehemently in my mind.
“I'm not ready….
I heard him interrupt calmly and felt like breaking into a round of applause.
“The room is ready.” I heard a guard report and i was carried in strong arms into the palace. I felt like kicking and screaming but couldn't, so i let it be, still licking my wounds from the realization Reno has a fiancee. A clingy and pathetic one at that.!
I was gently lain down on a soft, feathery bed and different foreign machines fixed on my body. Suddenly, i heard the door open.
“She'll soon be out of danger. I've seen the tattoo… but it looks normal. I can't really determine if its real. Lets just hope she wakes soon enough.” i heard that deep, smooth, outwardly voice again and i needed no one to tell it was the devil's.
Then the other person collapsed on the chair. There was a long brief period of silence, then suddenly i felt a pair running all over my body.
“What the heck.?!
I needed no one to tell me it was Reno. I began to feel ashamed because of my sinful feelings towards him. Didn't they say I'm the princess of light.? I'm not allowed to have dirty thoughts right.? But when i was beginning to enjoy the soft caress of his soft palms, the door busted open
The audacity.!
“What are you doing.?” I heard that cursed voice again. That bitch.!
“I.. i.. was just examining her..” he stammered. “Must you explain everything to this.. this bitch.! I cursed vehemently.
She laughed bitterly “since when did you become a doctor.?” She mocked. “Are you jealous.?” He fired back. I felt like whooping in joy.
“Reno…” she called out softly.
“You seem very distant since you came back. I remember… no matter how tired you're, you always give me your full attention. But now…. You're behaving like a stranger. Even our wedding you've been looking forward to, you now treat it like nothing” she said and I felt that pain again.
“You're overthinking things Charline. Nothing is wrong with me” he insisted.
“you've never called me Charline before.” she pressed on. “Yes why won't he call you by your name.?” I mocked sarcastically.
“Or is it because of her.?” She suddenly asked and my heart seemed to stop beating for a moment.
“No..!
He shouted sharply startling me. “She's just an assignment my dad gave me to fulfill… errr.. which i have.” He continued and i felt like bursting into tears. “So that's what he sees me as. Yes I'm weak, a Princess who can't protect” i thought bitterly
“Then lets go catch up on lost time. You've been gone for six whole days. I miss you in me” she moaned. Hearing this, my last bit of hope shattered.
“I haven't freshened up.” He calmly declined with an excuse but she pulled him back. “You're always perfect to me babe. I just want you to ride me again. Look, I'm already getting wet for you” she insisted desperately.
I felt like getting up and smashing something on her head but no matter what, i couldn't move. Anger and jealousy struggled for a place in me but jealousy later won as the kiss grew louder. Reno is having it right in front of me.!
The overwhelming strain of jealousy affected my heart and i felt my remaining consciousness slipping away. I soon grew numb.
