Chapter 61 Meds

Chapter 61 Meds
  Verena
Daxton was mad. It was from the way fury coated his voice, the raging madness in his eyes, and the way they softened to a lighter shade whenever he locked eyes with me and muttered almost silent words of apology for shouting over the phone.
He was so hot that it turned me on. Wetness dripped down my thigh and right now, I wanted to feel him buried inside of me, fucking me with my head slamming against the headboard until my vision blurred on the edges.
I stared at him with all sorts of lustful thoughts running through my mind. For a second, I wondered if I should slide the robe off my shoulders, crawl over to him, and slowly pull down his zipper until his dick yanked free from his pants.
Or, I could strut over to him, sit on the dresser with my legs parted wide for him while he would drop the phone from his ear, stare at me like he was starving before he got on his knees and took turns lapping on my core until an orgasm was wrung out of me.
I just wanted to see him breathless for me.
  And—
The knock on the door snapped me out of my thoughts and I took a bite of the pizza that had gone cold in my hand. It tasted horrible by the way.
  “Come in,”
The housekeeper, Matilda, opened the door, carrying a tray with a glass of water and my absolute nightmare— my medication.
I frowned, a wave of regret flooding through me because if I had never exaggerated my pain to Daxton, I wouldn’t be staring at these hideous, colored pills that the ENT doctor prescribed. Six awful pills—for an ear problem that wasn’t even real.
I hated medications and that was the reason I stuck to my monthly checkups like clockwork. I never wanted to end up in a situation where I would be stuck with endless prescriptions and having to endure a bunch of needle shots for a long period.
I used to trash every pill as a child or dump them straight into the toilet. That was how much I hated it.
Despite the way my stomach knotted, I smiled—almost to the point of pain. “Thank you,”
“I will wait so I can return the…”
“No. No. You can leave, I will bring this downstairs,”
Daxton pulled the phone from his ear, gaze stern on Matilda. “See that she takes them,”
My smile cracked. “No, it is okay. I can handle it myself,”
Matilda exchanged fleeting glances with Daxton, nodded, and went out of the room.
A wave of relief crashed through me and the moment Daxton turned to the mirror—certain his eyes were off me—I edged to the side, stealing glances at him before shoving the pills inside.
Daxton turned sharply and my pulse jumped. To avoid suspicion, I quickly faked a wince, touching my cheek. “Oww, I bit myself while swallowing my then. My cheek still aches,”
Concern flickered through his eyes as he ended the call, and crossed over to me in a single stride. “Let me see…” He ran those soft fingertips on my cheeks before blowing air on them.
With the way his face was so close to mine, all I could think about was kissing him, envisioning his dick swelling in my hand as heat pooled between my thighs.
I let out a soft moan, tugging at his shirt. “I want to feel you inside of him,” I used that same coquettish voice that would always make him push me against the wall and drive into me from behind.
It had always worked all the time. It will work this time.
  “No,”
  My heart dropped.
“Please,” I whispered, his eyes burning through mine as my fingers were already hooked into his zipper but his hand clamped around my wrist. “I would just feel and take you in my mouth,”
His voice was low, deep, and velvety. “I don’t trust myself with you. You know it wouldn’t end there alone,”
I kissed him softly on the lip, forcing his grip away from my wrist as I moaned against his mouth. “It doesn’t have to end there,” I dragged down his zipper and his cock sprang free, thick and veined, beading at the head already.
He wanted me just as badly as I needed him.
Daxton forced his eyes shut, a low groan slipping from his mouth as he gripped my wrist, removed my hand and pushed his dick back into his pants, and dragged up the zipper.
Something weird coiled in my chest as I glanced up at him—dazed. “Go to bed,”
  “Bed?”
He heaved an exasperated sigh, leaned closer to me, grabbed my chin, and forced my head to the mirror. “Look at you right now. You are in no condition to have sex,”
I stared at my reflection, noticing the obvious redness from the pain that I inflicted on myself.
  “I am okay,”
“I don’t care what you say, Verena. I am not about to stuff my dick into the mouth of a woman whose cheeks hurt, who can’t smile or speak without wincing,”
“You are in pain, I can’t bring myself to do this,”
I frowned and for a second, I contemplated telling him that I wasn’t in any form of pain and everything I did was fake. But if he found out that I played with his emotions, he might snap.
  “Okay, just kiss me,”
He tilted my head until I faced him, his eyes piercing deep into mine. “I would do that gently,”
  “Okay…” I grumbled.
He started by nibbling on my lips and when his tongue slipped into my mouth, I thought he’d changed his mind— that this was about to turn into one of his deep, explosive, and possessive kisses.
But his grip on my jaw tightened, pain shooting through my mouth as he forced it open and dumped those goddamn awful pills inside.
Pills that I didn’t see him take.
He tilted my head back, pressing his palm firmly on my mouth until those bitter pills scraped my tongue and slid down my throat.
I shoved his hands away, reaching for the glass of water and gulping it down.
I turned to him with a glare “And why would you do that for,” I was already on my feet.
Daxton chuckled. “You are not a kid, why wouldn’t you take your medication? Why throw pills around the house? Think I didn’t notice,”
I wiped away the water trailing under my jaw with the back of my hand, storming out of the room. “Goodnight!”
“Verena, wait,” He called but I was already in my room, slamming the door on his face before turning the lock.
Dang! That bitter state remained on my tongue. What the actual fuck.
  “Verena,”
“If you are about to apologize, save it!”
“No, I am not. I just thought you should know—I’ll be in charge of your medications from now on. I’ll make sure you take them every morning, afternoon, and night until there isn’t a single one left. Goodnight, Princess.”
