Chapter 14: MISCARRIAGE, SADDEST MOMENT
“HOW is my daughter, Doctor?” Mrs Fuentebella-Saavedra immediately asked the OB-GYNE Doctor who assisted her only daughter.
“Excuse me, Attorney Fuentebella. Pardon and forgive me if I’ll answer you a question as well. Are you not aware of her condition? How did she ended up in such like these situations? As a mother and a doctor, it’s so hurt to know that the boy inside your daughters womb was gone. The nurse will bring you the jar that contains the dead fetus.”
The lady Doctor explained very well. But upon hearing what she reported, she stepped backwards while tapping her forehead.
“Did she have a miscarriage, Doctor?” she asked another time.
“Yes, Attorney. That is why I’m asking you if you’re not aware that she has heart problem but not the way you think. She is suffering from heart malady. Maybe she will have a depression if you will not be attentive. Even it will come to the point of nervous break down. For now, what I can say is try to deal with her with patience. Talk and br careful not to hurt her feelings. Because as of now, she will be surely become sensitive. By the way, I’m going, Attorney,” the lady Doctor answered one more time.
“Thank you, Doctor. I will do that.” Mrs Fuentebella-Saavedra nodded once more while the doctor smiled as she walked away from them.
IN a meanwhile, Ramil is secretly grasping his palms secretly for s reason that his beloved Stephanie had miscarriage. She lost the baby that he is longing for so long. He can surely say that it’s because of him nor he force her to bed because since they have known that she is expecting a child, they never had a sxual intercourses . That was a month ago. He tried his best to destruct the attention of his wife as well as to lowered her guard down. Yet, it seems that the first husband of her never stop in pestering his beloved one. The one and main reason that he is holding to their marriage while he can divorce her.
‘Dmn you, old man! Why did you left the mortal world if you are not yet ready to let them go away from you?! I will surely kill your wife if my beloved sweet Stephanie will suffer more. Do you think I love your wife? Never! I married her because of your daughter! She is the one I love not that old woman who doesn’t even know how to pleasure me! What a disgusting, you both!’
He is really fighting to the late husband of his wife in his mind. He is actually planning to have revenge even in below the belt. He can do everything to make his wife miserable from that day on ward. He lost the most awaited child and he will let them pay for it.
But!
“Honey? Is there’s something wrong with you? Are you okay?” he heard his wife says.
‘Fck you, old woman! Wait and see. I will avenge in so many ways the death of my child! I’d rather lose you than my true love! Go to the flame of he’ll!’ He even cursed to her by himself.
“Oh, don’t think in other way around, honey. In such case like these a memory from my family always appear. According to our grandparents if you still remember them, my mother passed away during the labour of my supposedly younger sibling. But both of them were gone along the process. You are still lucky, honey. Because your daughter survived. Just be thankful on that reason alone.”
God will forgive him for talking about his parents. But he will surely revenge for his lost.
“Ah, honey, by the way, I need to go home for a while. The company in Paris called that they need my signature. Philippines and France are very far away while me here in Madrid is just around the corner. I only forgot to let you know on advance because of what happened to Stephanie.” He added.
‘From now on, old woman! I will start to discard you in my life. There are so many ways to be with her. I only regret that I married you because of her instead of waiting for her without you. I will never satisfy your womanly needs! Fck yourself, b●tch!’ he says in his mind.
“Oh, so sad. Yeah, I remembered them. About travelling, go ahead, honey. It’s about work so you don’t need to be apologetic,” Mrs Fuentebella-Saavedra show a sad face in answering him. Just to catch something but as usual, she found nothing.
“Thank you, honey,” he answered as he got closer to Stephanie who is unconsciously laying on the hospital bed.
“Hey, child, get well soon and regain your health. Don’t let your Mom be worried about you. Your step-dad is traveling forward while and your mother will be alone with you. I will pray to the highest heaven with GOD for your fast recovery, child.”
Those words came from his heart. He wanted to say baby or beloved but since his old woman is around, he endured. Then he faced his wife another time.
“I’ll be on my way now, honey. I will just need to take my plane ticket at home. Take care both yourself and Stephanie,” he calmly said and go out of the private room immediately without giving her a goodbye kiss.
‘Why should I do that? If I need to kiss someone, I should be my beloved sweet Stephanie not you, old woman!’ he said with his mind as he walked away from his wife.
SHE looked at him intently as he walked away from her.
“Did he mention to me about his travel today? I don’t even remember that he did. He is acting a little suspicious. Did I say something against him?” she asked carelessly that it seems someone will answer her.
“No, no matter how hard I tried to think about it, there is nothing. Hih! Never mind. Maybe there’s important things that he need to do together with his family in Paris,” she murmured once again.
What she don’t know right at the moment is her daughter is awake. Even Stephanie heard everything what her step-father uttered besides her. But she remained silent as she cries deep inside of her. She feels that she lost two lives in a day. But as the moment goes on, an anger arises deep down from her soul.
‘Wait until can go out of this hospital. I will avenge as well the lost of my baby. You were dead more than a decade ago but you just came back and ruined my future, my child! I hate you so much! Burn your soul in the fire of hell!’ she mumbles.
AFTER sometimes when Ramil reach their home. He put all his important documents in his traveling bag before taking a shower. But as the water showered him, the blood flowing to his beloved Stephanie legs reappeared. On how she beg to help her to the child inside her womb.
‘I’m so sorry, my child! Please forgive this ungrateful father of yours. Help me to overcome the grief of loosing you. Watch over your poor mother as well. I will leave for a while but I’ll surely come back to visit your grave and do the right thing. I love you, my child as I love your mother.’
Indeed!
He is a man but as the waters flows of him, his tears as well. He is sobbing under the warm water comes from the shower. He let himself calm before finishing his bath and fix it well as if there’s nothing happened.
Then...
“Marielle, can I ask you a favour?” he asked to their long time maid.
“Sure, Senyor. What is it?” She replied immediately.
“Take care of yourself as you always do. So that you can take care of them while I’m away. Yeah, I’m travelling for now bound to Paris but your Senyora knows I’m going to the Philippines. I will not ask your loyalty because i know that my wife have that since you were with his late husband. That is why I will only ask you to take care of them,” he said with firm resolution.
“Senyor, even you will not say, I’m going to do that. For the reason that we are family. Don’t worry, Senyor. No matter what you do and reason why you didn’t tell Senyora the truth behind your travel, my lips remain silent.” Marielle agreed.
Ad he heard that word from the maid, he smiled and looked at her.
“Thank you, Mariell. And since that you said those words, I will not deny. I know that you knew everything even the truth between me and Stephanie. For now, go on with the flow, because I will do the best for the three of us. When the right time come, I will talk to her personally. You will be safe, don’t worry, Marielle. I am immoral it’s true but I never plan to hurt anyone who is harmless. I’m just concerned about those who I love the most. Can I hold unto your word, Marielle?” He pleaded.
Without hesitation, Marielle answered.
“Since the day that Stephanie was abducted, I know everything already. But for the sake of her safety, I remain silent since then. Sure, I will do the same, Senyor. You admitted the fact to a lowly maid like me and that’s acts is more than enough to continue life as if nothing happened. Go now, Senyor. I know that you were trapped in between two huge rock right now. Go and have some peace of mind somewhere else. And last, hope, when you come back, you will do the right thing that you are telling me.”
As he said those words from the maid, he felt relieved. He then bid his good bye and left.
