Chapter 6

“YES, the plane that you and Billie were into exploded before it could leave the land,” Alexander explained to her. “According to the police, it was a technical problem. Can’t you remember?”

Casey covered her mouth in shock. So this is real? They changed her face to Amara’s. And, not just her face but also her whole identity! “Oh, my gosh...” she murmured. “W-What’s the date today?”

Alexander looked at her worriedly. “October 16, 2018,” he said. “You’ve been in a coma for two weeks. The plane crash is still all over the news, with the grieving family of all the casualties.”

“Comatose? I was comatose?” she asked and looked at herself in the mirror. She doesn’t look like she just woke up from a coma. “Then, how did the doctor did my face?”

“You were conscious in the hospital. You went into a coma after the surgery. But the doctor said that all your vital signs are stable and that we have nothing to worry about because your body is just regenerating its energy,” he said, then walked towards her. “Can’t you remember it? The crash? In the hospital? You were awake after the doctors treated your wounds. You even asked them where’s Billie.”

Casey thought about it and tried to remember the plane crash. She sat beside the kid, saw Amara flirting with the two bodyguards. The plane took off, and then a loud explosion happened. Tears fell from Casey’s eyes. And, now she’s Amara. Alexander mistook her as his wife.

“Where’s the kid? The little girl sitting beside me?” she asked worriedly.

“Our child, Amara,” Alexander corrected. “Billie is okay now and has fully recovered,” he said, brows furrowed. “You used your body to cover her during the explosion. That’s how you got your face damaged and so your body.”

Casey released a sigh of relief. “Thank God...” she whispered. “She was so scared when the explosion happened. She kept crying until the rescue came, and that’s when I lost my consciousness—”

“Shh... It’s over now, Amara. You and Billie are safe now. That’s what important,” Alexander said and wrapped his arms around her. “Thank you for saving our daughter. If not because of you, she’s gone by now.”

Casey hugged him back. She wasn’t aware that she was crying until he hugged him. What happened to her was traumatic, but what scares her most is where she was now and who she was. How will she tell Alexander that she wasn’t Amara? And, how will she come back to the Speedy Network? Casey was sure that her colleagues are now dead worried about her. It’s been two weeks after the explosion, and she’s certain that the news about the explosion is still the hot topic now... She paused.

My scoop… I have to make my scoop no matter what happened.

Maybe she can use this mistaken identity to her advantage? Now that she’s in Alexander’s house and surrounded by Montefort Family, she can collect more than her needed information.

Casey was interrupted in her thoughts when she felt Alexander’s cock poking on her belly. She pulled back from him and realized that they’ve been hugging each other for almost half an hour.

“I-I’m sorry...” she said and lowered her head in embarrassment.

“Why you’re sorry?” Alexander asked in a hoarse voice. “It’s the first time in a while that I heard you say sorry.”

She bit her lip. She has to put in her mind that Amara is a monster, but for Christ's sake, she doesn’t want to be rude to Alexander. Not now that he’s looking as dashing as ever. She looked up at him again but felt burned by his gaze. Casey didn’t expect that Alexander Montefort is not just handsome but dangerously gorgeous in this distance! And, the way he gazed at her, it was as if he’s going to eat her alive!

Casey shivered on that thought. Imagining this gorgeous man feasting on her is just too much—and heavenly. Alexander must be excellent in bed. With his well-sculpted body and strong legs, Casey can imagine herself now screaming in pleasure.

“If you wanted to see Billie, she’s in her room,” Alexander said and walked towards the door beside their bed. “I’ll call our maids to assist you in changing clothes. Then I’ll call your doctor to check on you.”

When he opened the door and was about to leave, Casey felt the urge to stop him from going. “Wait, Alexander!”

The man looked at her before he walked out the door. His brows were furrowed while waiting for her to speak. “Do you need anything?”

I need you to touch me... Casey wanted to say, but she controlled herself. She has to know how Amara interacted with the people in this house before playing Alexander’s wife’s role. But, can you give me a bonus now for saving your daughter?

“Amara, what is it?” Alexander asked again.

“Ah, n-nothing... I’ll see you later,” she said and turned to face the mirror again. She saw Alexander looked at her for seconds before he stepped out the door and shut it.

Casey heaved a sigh. This will be a challenge for her. How to play the wife of Alexander Montefort?

WHEN she’s sure that Alexander has left, Casey started to look for something that she can use to learn about Amara. She went to the big vanity mirror on the other side of the bed. Casey noticed that Amara has a fascination for different expensive perfumes and skincare products. What did she expect? Amara is the wife of the most sought-after man, who’s also the Philippines’ top winery CEO. She should be the most beautiful woman to keep up with her husband’s popularity.

“Well, it was easy for her to do all of this. She’s rich and crazy...” she said as she opened the drawers. On the second one, Casey found it locked. “Why it’s locked?”

She opened the other drawer again to find the keys, but she can’t find any. She looked around the room. Where’s her closet? She asked herself and wandered around. When she can’t see it, she looked under the bed, behind the bed covers, and even checked each of the skincare tubs on the table.

Casey raked her fingers through her hair. “Fuck, where are the keys—”

“Does your head hurt?”

She heard Alexander spoke from her back. When she looked at him, he was already in an expensive suit that looked perfect for him. He looked like the ones she saw in magazines, but even better.

“Ah, y-yeah...” she lied and caught her head. “A little bit...”

Alexander nodded. “Your doctor will be here later. We’ll ask him about it—”

“Ah, Alexander...” Casey cut off hesitantly. “Did the doctor mention something about the head injury when I was in the hospital?” She wet her lips. “Because... I’m having a hard time remembering everything here.”
